How can they know what kind of atty you use on your device. To me it's almost like they say their is no warranty. If you have problem with it you'll have to prove that you use only their atty????? I wont buy from a vendor like this sorry.

I guess they can look through your order history from them. If you haven't been ordering atomizers through them they would assume you are using other atomizers.

Very fishy warranty, definitely keeping me from buying one.

Simple in the video provided by hifistud, there is clear evidence of both stressing the circuitry and battery when the load demands more than 2A. It doesn't shut off with an error message, provided voltage just drops until the unit is below 2A. Yes the unit is designed to protect itself, but placing an LR atty on the device knowing the LR is drawing too many amps is asking for trouble. Folks are going to want to do it and hence why Volcano IMO are just CTA. Look at how many vapers vape LRs on eGos which were never designed to handle that sort of demand.

Kudos to Volcano and if you do not like it, there is always the provari. Better yet get yourself a SB armed with an 18650 and use all the LRs and DCs your little heart desires, if ya need more heat throw in a couple of 3V 16340s and vape 6V. If that is not good enough, toss in a couple of 18350s and vape at 7.4V, that should get ya there :)

Volcano has the exclusive US distribution rights for the Lavatube, and it refuses to warranty the Lavatube if you use an atty/carto from another supplier.

I was wondering if the Canadian distributor had the same restriction.

Thanks,

Depending where you buy it from in Canada there is a full 1 year manufacturers warranty and you can use what ever carto/atty you would like. That being said it doesn't cover things like breakage or water damage.

I hear this alot and what I don't understand is why JoyeTech makes LR Ego atties at 1.5 Ohms if the Ego isn't meant to handle it. They are clearly meant to be used on the Ego... so what gives? The Ego has a protection circuit as well, which obviously works fine at 1.5 ohms, so it's easy to deduce that they were intended to be used at low ohms.

I mean, 1.5 ohms is pretty low... there's not much, if anything, that is below that.

So they should have put a disclaimer limiting the atty amp and not limiting the customer to buy their products.
Kudos for what ??? for watching a great Mod- (provari) being successful and going to copycat it in China ?
Maybe they were too afraid their new Mod will fail more often then they want so they had to open a back door exit to void the warranty .

PS - You can not compare a Silver Bullet which IMO one of the best Mods out there to a VV Mod - two completely different things.

Quite elementary my dear Watson! They are a seller and you are a buyer.

The STD JoyE atty at 2.2Ohm was LR when it came out hence why the 510 took over like a storm compared to 3 and 3.5Ohm.

Personally I have given up arguing with folks wrt LRs and eGos, it is there euipment and I am cool with how they use it if they have excepted justifiable risk. However, if they use the combo and complain about it, that is a whole different ball game.

BTW a 3.2 DC carto consumes 24A, not to many batteries can handle that.

I use lr306 and 1.5 boges and have def noticed a slow decline in battery life. Not sure if it's related. With all honesty I don't really care at 20 or so bucks a pop. I have like ten of them so whatever.

With regards to the lava tube...I don't see why anybody would use a lr atty on it in the first place...unless they want to try and explode their faces.

Right but the manufacturer is basically saying "Hey, try this 1.5 Ohm atomizer on your Ego." Any normal user would assume they are fine to use together if the manufacturer themselves suggest it.

I mean, it's different if they've already come here and read warnings from other users, and still whine about it... but it's not like it's some radical experiment to use an atomizer that is explicitly designed for the Ego, and by JoyeTech.

That's all I'm trying to say.

Wrong a user that hasn't educated him or herself yes, and that is what they prey upon. They are a seller you are a buyer. Believe it or not, I can sell a freezer to an Eskimo. Marketing is all about knowing your audience and take advantage of their weaknesses and benefit from their naiveté.

That my friend is how the world turns, and if you don't like it you have a choice! Inform yourself, know the pitfalls and above all else speak with your wallet. Above all else if one is unwilling to change, then don't start wining.

I have to back up Switched here guys, not to take sides in the matter but rather to side with science. Lithium Ion batteries are limited in the amount of amps they output and if stressed it causes crystallization of the electrolyte. The higher the mah is on the batts though the better for use with LR. The eGo (even at 1000 mah) will slowly lose life as these crystals form and they won't dissolve back into the remainder of the electrolyte.

IMR Batts are best for use with LR because they can output the necessary amps and in turn this won't stress the battery. Sure, you get less mah but you get more performance and you won't kill your battery. This EXACT same principle applies to any VV device and is the reason why mods like the Lavatube and Provari only take IMR 18650s. The required amperage is simply not produced adequately from a Li-Ion batt and you have to use a battery that is suitable.

Thanks Blane. I was a little short there but sometimes coating things doesn't always get the point across.

Trivia...

When did LRs first hit the scene besides the 2.2Ohm 510 which was declared an LR in the past? More importantly what was that LR fired with? What was the recommended battery to use with LR atties?

This info is important because the practice these days is so far removed from its intent, it is simply ridiculous and leads to questions like the previously 2 I answered, and to some extent addressing the OP.

I totally understand Switched, it's a hard point to drive home and most people shrug it off, so it gets to a point when you just have to be blunt. From my recollection, the first LR atties I heard of hit the market a few months after the Janty eGo was developed and mods like the Silver Bullet were still new, and to this day the confusion about the batt chemistry and usage on an eGo persists. The original figure was stated as "Do not use these 1.5 ohm atomizers on anything less than 400 mah" but this figure was stated before eGo's had really made their mark as the new king of the castle so to speak as I am sure you now.

LR's have always been meant to be used on 3.7 volt Big Battery Mods and even at that the batts still suffered, until IMR's became the new standard for LR vaping a considerable amount of time after that.

I have had multiple eGo batteries die on me because of my LR usage on them, since I started using LR as soon as Jack stocked them. At least 5 eGo batteries to 1 finally dead atty... It was no surprise to me that it was the atties causeing their untimely death.

Just want to chirp in here from my experience, not book knowledge.

I have been using a Joye 510 LR on my batteries since, well almost 1 year now, and I'm still using the same Joye eGo 650mah batteries I've had since day one. While the batteries certainly don't hold the charge quite as long as they did at first, they still work. I have since been using my Darwin and VV (Lava Tube) for the past month for a majority of my vaping so to put an actual number of months, I'll say 10 months, but they still work just fine.

I have also used 306 Lr's on the same batts and they work fine. Sure I can probably get a longer life on a daily basis and long term if I use a regular atty, but I simply don't enjoy the vape as much. It's worth the trade off IMHO. :)
