I have been getting feedback from Europe and Canada: no other retailer has such a restrictive warranty.

To compound Volcano's crappy business practices, they do not even sell a HR atty or carto which is better suited to a VV device which goes up to 6 volts.

SR attys will burn out a lot quicker at the higher voltages.

Volcano not only gets the high margin consumables, he gets to sell more of them too.

    in a cave, eh?
The L-Rider VV is a good mod. It's comparable to a Provari, without relying on the one button to do everything. According to NicFitNation, a Canadian site, they cannot ship to the U.S. due to licensing rights. I.e. Volcano is the exclusive distributor of the rebranded "Lava Tube" in the U.S.

I don't see how Volcano is going to enforce the "only Volcano accessories" bit, though. How are they gonna know? The L-Rider VV ships as pretty much a complete kit, i.e. VV Mod, 2 18650 batteries, 1 charger and 1 2.5 ohm atomizer. It's just missing a drip tip or cartridges and juice.

There is circuit protection that limits the output to 2.5 amps. If you put a low-res atomizer on it and jack the voltage setting to 6 volts, it will actually output something more like 4.2 volts. You can get higher actual volts with a regular or high-voltage atomizer.

I haven't had it long enough to say how durable it is, but I think most people will be satisfied with it.

one would expect they will also be releasing a special "LT" atomizer that CANNOT be used on their 510s or ego's ;)

That only applies to GG products.
    Rest should be fine...

Thanks! I set up an account and was able to put it in the cart was about to pay for it but then noticed under the description that they are gonna get different colors after jan! So I think I'm going to hold off for now! Would really like one in a blue or metallic blue!

You really should look at both sides of the story before passing judgement IMO.

    Consider this:

There have been several reports of people with rebuildable atomizers ruining the threading of their PVs. This is due to some rebuildable atomizers having stainless steel atty connectors/threads which can eat up brass/aluminum threads for breakfast if misused or over tightened.

I have never bought a Volcano product before and have no affiliation to them. I think it's reasonable to limit their liability in cases like this.

I only own GG products currently, but I may buy one to use with my iatty. Given the price is half as much as a Provari and a quarter the price of a Darwin I think it's a reasonable trade off.

    Just my 2 cents:)

Well guess what folks, Volcano has an exclusivity contract with the supplier that they're the only ones that can sell the Lavetube in the US. The vendors outside the US can't by purchase contract ship Lavatubes to the US, so basically Volcano can do whatever they want. I don't believe they're going to sell the Lavatube for less than a $100 either, they've worked to hard to be the only supplier not to grab as much money as they can. Volcano has used FTC regs to give themselves a little monopoly and are using it to they're advantage. After learning about this I've given up on getting one.

There are other sources to get it from. Check out these post as well as others from the link below, 519, 525 and 527. Looks like pricing even with shipping it across the pond is going to be the same or most likely less than getting it from Volcano.

We have decided that the warranty for the Lavatube will stay the same as is for all our other devices with one change, which follows:

The Lavatube can be used with any 510 threaded device as long as it is sold by a vendor and not hand made or built by the user.

You can see Joe Volcano's whole post on the Lavatube thread, but it seems they have changed their minds on the warranty! YAY!

I hope this is true! I was this close(thumb to pointer by less then an inch) to saying screw you to LavaTube after seeing their warranty conditions. If they change the price, I will say good day and off to Provari town. *crosses fingers* I would really like to try the LavaTube but only if there are fair conditions to do so.

I hope this is true! ...

It's true. You can check JoeInferno's post in his thread.

I came very close to posting a number of things here... glad I held off. Sure, it might have been a mis-step at the outset, but it looks like they've listened and done right by everyone. Kudos to them!
