I'm new to DIY and have been using Liquid Barn's bases (premixed PG/VG/nic) in 12mg (regular) and 24mg (salt) to get started. I'm learning a lot as I go and have a growing collection of decent liquids I've made from online recipes and experimentation.

However, I'm having some problems with my salt base: it destroys my coils. I have a Beserker 1.5 MTL RTA, an Ammit MTL RDA, and a Nautilus 2. I build between .6 and 1.2 and fire 15-20w in the rebuildables and use the .7 and 1.8 BVC coils, fired within their recommended ranges, in the Nautilus. When I use liquids made from the LB salt base, it kills my coils after about 3ml. I haven't had this issue using commercial salts, nic shots, or my DIY 12mg liquids.

Any suggestions? Is there a better source for salt nic, with or without PG and VG?

It happens both ways. I find I have to change wicks more often. Sometimes the coil is so gunked up I have to change wicks just to dry burn. I change Nautilus BVC coils once the burnt taste sets in. All after about 3ml.

I alternate between Cotton Bacon Prime, COTN threads, Firebolt cotton, and cotton pads in my rebuildables.

I might make a Nic River order.

Do you use your DIY salts any differently than commercial in terms of wattage, etc?

Are you sure it's the nic salts? Could be the flavor/sweeteners you used... are these the same you have used before? I had a juice with lots of caramel and it was a coil killer.

I'm not 100% sure it's the salts. I initially thought it was the Ni80 wire I just started using but it's fine with my 12mg DIY. I haven't ruled out every possibility but I have a few different DIY salts and they all seem to have the same problem.

Might need to try this.
At LNW I just get salts coupon code ELRECIPES good for 15% off, no free shipping.
At RS I get smooth salts, (they have hit salts), free shipping at 50.00 after any discounts applied.
I prefer LNW for the great cs and fast order fulfillment but RS has improved their services recently.

I vape LNW and NR hit salts on drop ins on a frenzy/Nord, as well as rayon wicked 200w drop dead rabbit and everything in between. Ss316L, and Ni80. No issues unless it's a sweeter juice. Are you wearing gloves when wicking?
Also, I find, personally, that LNW salts are a bit more potent than NR(RS) although YMMV.

I haven't done a side by side same juice test but doubt I would notice any difference between the two, chances are fair that they are using the same nic to make the salts with.

I'm not saying the mg is off, just that it his harder, and metabolizes faster, where as NicRiv seems to be a more gradual onset. I actually prefer blending the two.
