Guys,

Avoid to use pliers when you unthread the center pole on the GGs. Instead, you can use these to unthread the center poles by hands.

Mactavish,

I was only trying to help in saying that, you only have to tighten enough so nothing leaks through it, it doesnt have to be torqued over tight. I did mine today and had it tight enough by hand and just gave it a little more ooomph and it was good

Macta, if you used pliers to put the new plastic inside the GGTS then you crossthread the new plastic and its permanently damaged.

But if the head of the black new plastic is touching the GGTS then you are ok. Please post a picture to show me what you mean

I read again your post and I understand better. You cant disapear the black nut by screwing more the new hex because plastic has a head and its nesesary to separate the old hex from the new one. This head cant disapeared. If you still screw the new hex the only that you will earn is to damage the plastic's internal threads. Dont use pliers as I said to my video because plastic will get damaged permanately.
So, unscrew a little the new hex and try to screw it again only by hand.

Thought I would post a copy of an email I posted to Rob, in which he responded that I had done the install correctly, as I had a question about it, hope it helps anyone else here.

I just installed the new leak proof parts and had a question. I hand tightened the new part on my GGTS, and then using a needle nose plier, I made it a bit tighter. At this
point I do NOT want to over tighten, but can visibly see a tiny amount of the black delrin plastic between the original hex nut, and the new larger hex nut. I am NOT sure if the two hex nuts should end up touching each other, meaning I would NOT see any of the black plastic new sleeve, or not? Not sure if I should continue to tighten the outside hex nut anymore to make the plastic disappear, but will not go any further until I hear from you. In the photo in the one page instruction paper you included it is hard to tell,
almost looks like both hex nuts are in contact with each other, if that is TRUE?, this would require much more tightening then I have done so far, as the resistance is getting quite stiff, and therefore I STOPPED, and decided to write you.

Macta,

I think I understand what you mean. You don't have to over tighten the part till the delrin part disappears. Just tighten it enough to hold. You don't need more.

Here is a picture of mine, which is probably the same as yours.

Yes, indeed, it was not until I got it installed that I wondered about the "head", and did not want to undo it, as you state, the plastic has a "head", which cannot disappear, my mistake, it is now snug, not over tight. Now that the center pole is much tighter, it is NOW more important then ever to loosen the GTTS threads, place an Atty or Carto on top, and then tighten the GGTS body back. GREAT work on this update Imeo!

That's why we buy your product Imeo.. You make it so we can solve problems easily! I love being able to fix my own stuff and not having to send it back and wait...

Thanks a lot Wood my friend. :)

Really on the GG you can change everything. Front spring, button;s spring, front axis , fuse, connector, o-rings, plastics, button. Some of them exists on local stores and some of them you can order from me. But there is no way to send it back to me now after the machined threads I made to all GGs to have compatibility to updates

I WANT MINE NOW!!!!! Imeo, will my center pole I have now still work with this system or is it longer?

O and I use an 11mm socket to get my threads out to clean down inside the well. When you are doing this fix it would a good time to clean the inside of that too.....

Lisa took this photo for me to show me what it consisted of. Looks like a simple fix imeo. I still want mine now.... I have to keep an eye out for my AFS leaking down into my battery. Doesn't happen much but every now and then especially if my battery is getting low it will flood.

Its an extremely simple fix Vapn. I hadnt realise that GGTS was leaking when I first made it because mine was not leaking at all!! But users are the most reliable testers as always.:)

ps............. Lisa takes exellent photos:thumb:

ps 2...... your existing center pole will work too Vapn. I had no intention to send a second center pole to my customers because it made my cost bigger but then I deside to do it because I wanted my people to have the minimum effort to replace it.

Imeo,
Very true. It makes it real nice when you can fix almost everything on your own, or update everything on your own. All GG's are very user friendly...and user serviceable.....Both HUGE pluses for me.
