Least likely to leak with temp changes?

I live in MN. The land of bitter freezing cold, heat and humidty, and everything in between. My best friend has a ton of health issues and seems to think my vaping makes her allergies worse (I don't think this is true, but I love her, so am trying to respect her) so when we hang out I'll have to step outside to vape. I use carto tanks like a champ, as well as Aro clearos and some kanger basic clearos (still haven't tried the aerotank yet but I hope to soon) but I'm wondering what set up seems to be the least "leak proof" when going in and out from different temperature environments? I may have to just use a basic carto on one of my vision spinners, but that's annoying to keep refilling!

Kayfun's seem to have a pretty good rep. Do you build coils at all? If not, someone else will have to help you.

Good luck! :)

I've owned Kayfuns, Taifuns, Protanks, drippers, etc. The least leaky tank I've ever owned is a Prometey/Spheriod style tank where the liquid is stored in fluff. Any tank can leak, it's the nature of the beast but with a tank that uses fluff, it gives the liquid something to cling too. They are also the easiest to rebuild.

FYI, building coils is easy and just requires a minimal investment and entry level skills.

Any atomizer that utilizes a pressurized tank will be susceptible to leaking when exposed to pressure or temperature changes. I do love my Kayfuns but they too cannot overcome physics. If you're looking for an RBA that doesn't leak then I too suggest one that does not rely on pressure but instead uses some kind of filler material to suspend the liquid like a Protemy, GP Spheroid, or GP Heron. If you're limiting your search to disposables then I could only recommend a cartomizer without a tank.

The aspire nautilus mini has been rock solid for me this winter. Not one problem with leaking or flooding of any kind and that includes going from freezing out on my snowmobile to inside with no problems, Seems like temperature changes dont affect it at all. The full size nautilus on the other hand has been a pain in the ...., so much so i only been using it inside.

Very close. ANY tank will leak under pressure (altitude) or temperature changes. But, the smaller the tank, the better it should be. Using a mini may solve your problems.

Also try keeping your mod next to your body. Hard to vape that way, but keeping it under your coat most of the time will keep the temp more stable. Maybe even having some sort of 'mod glove' would provide insulation.

After that, you're back to an atomizer or carto. The Reo as mentioned above would provide a juice reservoir.

Glad I found this topic! This is my first winter vaping and the wind chill here was -24 yesterday. I've had some issues with a leaky mini subtank (most likely with weather as a factor, I was taking it outside with me for 15-20 min. at a time on walks) and today an Aerotank leaking as I had it outside in about 8 degrees on a work break. I had opted to no longer do this with the Subtank and I still like my Aerotank so I prolly won't take it outside until it warms up anymore either. I have a mini protank 3, I think I will start using for my outside vape.

You're not going to like this... but...

Gennies with a mesh wick.

My Kayfun Lite would dump liquids if I even thought about leaving the house or opening the window to go to sleep during winter. I sometimes joke with people who claim gennies leak by telling them they can come watch me juggle 3 of them outside in the cold. Good thing noone takes me up on my offer as I have no idea how to juggle.

You may/will get the occasional condensation drop coming out the air intake... but leaking from the tank is fixable by using a plug with a tiny hole in it to plug up any deck holes. Only one of the plugs need a hole.

I'm sure there are other setups that don't leak as well. Just adding the one I know of :)
