I am interested in wrapping my Prodigy in leather but I have never worked with leather and have no idea how to sew. I was wondering if anyone here has done this and could give me some pointers. I want to do just one piece wrapped around the entire body.

I do, but when you say wrapped in leather are you talking about strips of leather wrapped around it? Or are you talking a one piece wrap? Either way you will want some thin natural leather, you will need to soak it in water to make it pliable then cut it to shape and sew it preferably with nylon threading. when it dries it will shrink and become taught. Once dry, you can stain it or leave it natual. Now you can use leather cording and a hole punch and lace it in leiu of nylon stiching, all depends on the look you are going for, sounds like the motorcycle handle bar covers. I.E.

I haven't worked with thin leather, (you use the really thick stuff for holsters) but what everyone above said about getting it wet and stitching with two needles is absolutely correct.

Holy crap, you guys have been extremely helpful. I was on the verge of giving up. I was talking about doing one solid piece. So when I do the two needle lacing thing, should I do it while it is on the device and if so, should I use like a curved needle? Also I got lucky and found out there is a leather supply place that is only about 45 minutes from my house, lets just hope they sell smaller pieces of leather. 
I don't think you need curved needles. Do it on the battery and tighten up as you go. Ostrich skin might be cool. I used to re-cover cameras. Lizard, bullfrog, sting ray, or embossed cowhide. You can get all kinds of nice leathers.
I didn't even think of re-purposing leather. I see an awkward trip to Goodwill soon. lol
Tandy is a great place to get leather tell em what you want it for and they will help you find the right kinds of leather. I would try it on something the same size but our leather is thick because we carve designs in it. You will prolly want leather sealant too. It comes in a spray can and easy to apply but only use outdoors.

I wanted to make a leather pickguard and found a place on ebay that sells leather scraps in various sizes, thicknesses, and colors... very cheap... and what seems to me to be very good quality too... and did I say very cheap?
