Guys, I hate to break this to you, but we ARE drug users. Nicotine is not a food or a vitamin supplement. It is a chemical we are addicted to. Chemicals induced into the body to cause an effect are called drugs........:)

Do you mean things like sugar and caffeine? I think I understand you. I also think that just about everyone on the planet is thus addicted to one form of drug or another- or am I missing something here?

Personally, I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around how they would be able to regulate and enforce vaping. With the exception of atomizers, it seems that all the individual parts of the device are available to the general public just about everywhere and i'm sure it won't be long before people start figuring out how to make their own atty's. My bf is already working on that one.

A lot of the mods are made with everyday household/hardware supplies. They can't stop us from buying batteries, they can't stop us from buying mouthpieces, they can't stop us from buying switches, they can't stop us from buying flavoring, PG, or VG because they are all used by the public for numerous other uses.

The only thing I could see them being able to get a hold on is liquid nicotine. We've seen how well they've been able to control the use of thc products.

Now I suppose they could regulate complete "kits" exclusively marketed and sold for vaping, but I don't see that stopping anyone.

Just my thoughts on it.

If you look in here. Under Mods/Attys there is a nice thread on people working on rebuilding the atty. it discusses the gauge of nichrome wire etc etc. should be some good reading for the bf.

Back on topic, yes Nicotine is what they want to regulate and the vaping kits (as a drug delivery system). The sad thing is that we can make our own, but a 510 and other kits are just sleeker and handier when vaping out and about. I couldnt really be out riding my bike with a screwdriver mod in my pocket. If it comes down to it i will either do that or quit all together.

Also the kits make it easier to draw new people into vaping. I know I saw something similar to what I was already smoking. I started checking into e-Cigs due to the BLU ads. I didnt get a BLU, but the ads drew me in. Similar size and it did not look complicated. If BLU had people sucking on a screwdriver mod, I would probably not be here right now.

I seriously doubt any current or short term future legislation will be aimed at someone making small quantities of purified nicotine at home. Though we do lose freedoms in steps. Had someone tried the patriot act at any other time than after 9-11 or right after the cuban missile crisis, the country would have screamed for impeachment. But fortunately Nicotine will make the FDA too much money. Otherwise I am sure they would have announced forcing people to quit cigarettes. But it is also too early to tell, but my opinion is the FDA would not be that altruistic. Just watch the commercials for side effects of "FDA Approved" drugs.

Though fully back on topic. If the police were to raid your house while making E-Juice, you do run the risk of the police confusing you with someone committing an illegal act.

Well, following that logic, lighters and matches would have to be black listed as well. That means I shouldn't be allowed to light my own pilot light on my furnace if it goes out, and I should have to freeze or have Uncle Sam come light it for me...

Maybe you can get the lighter via prescription? :p Then we can all sit around wondering why the cost of healthcare is so outrageous - hmmm.

Well modern furnaces do not have a pilot light. But yea unfortunately I would hope to see the drug nicotine in its pure form dealt with the same as in its impure form in tobacco.

Not saying there's LOGIC in that argument, just that they can start using it, and if spun correctly, could work against the e-cig community.

Unfortunately there is strong irrefutable logic in that argument. I am not to fond of reading people that go on and on conspiracy theory style in forums. But unfortunately, I will try and keep it short. He who controls the media is he who controls the country. This has happened since I have been a kid. News reporting used to be a lot more drab and boring. But it was factual. These days there is so little hard fact in news, but so much opinion presented as fact, and so much emotion to sway the emotions of the viewer/reader. Our news shows are closer matched to reality shows such as "The Real World." So who controls our media controls the thoughts of the silent majority. We have seen it ourselves, the FDA report (which I could not find on their website) that made claims about the E-Cig. Now the sheep have that thought. These are the same sheep that see and want medications from commercials whose spoken fine print is so long I still for the life of me cannot remember the name of the advertised medication, but its approved by the FDA so it can't be that bad. Yea, those commercials are like reading that last sentence. But, Alas, due to nicotine we are not freely able to utilize the great mind control of our generations, the boob tube.

Our founding fathers, if they were here today, would have a hard time wrapping their minds around how the federal government is able to regulate and enforce..............80% of the laws and regulations on the books.

posting again, sorry.
I will be good, I am a noob, I don't think I have been to harsh, so don't ban me please.
I am from Utah, 44 years old, started vaping Dec. 10 2009... it works for me. If they take this away from me I will die, not being dramatic, I am serious... :(

Whoa, calm down, read up on the important threads, join in and hang out here like the rest of us. Cops aren't yet busting down doors looking for evil vapers.

The federal court's tied up in knots for now on this issue, so there's time to settle into your favorite e-cig and juice, vape away next to your computer, and think long term strategy with the rest of us.

Welcome aboard!

It is true....I wish we could give a real class on the founding fathers to every high school kid in this country. So they fully understood what we stood for, how we became to be. I love history but it seems it is getting lost in the kids for the past few generations. Did you hear there is one school board that is trying to ONLY teach US history from 1877 to now...nothing before then.
