Legalization of Psilocybin and ... - Your opinions?

As a Libertarian I believe in the legalization of all drugs coupled with increased, truthful education. That said, I believe psychedelics to be both therapeutic and/or fun, depending on how you set your mind and your surroundings to use them. I wont get into a big shpiel here, since this is a major boiling point for me and I don't want to rant.
I suppose this is one of those things,,, tripping is such a dicey thing,,, one thing for sure,,, part of the problem with acid is you don't know what you're getting.
I guess at this point, I would have to abstain. I would need someone to be more specific about how it would be implimented before I would say it should be legal. IMHO acid is one of those expiriences that can only be handled by the very few, and while I don't think those people should be jailed for the expirience,, it's not for everyone.
That said,,, I've been thinking a lot about people calling Obama a Nazi over the health care proposals. From where I sit, the war on drugs has been very much like the Nazi expirience. Anti smoking groups have tried to link tobacco to these same tactics,,,,
What is more Nazi like than teaching kids to turn in thier friends and parents for herb? What is more Nazi like than the ATF smashing in someones door to find drugs? What is more Nazi like than denying employment to someone based on drug tests and criminal records? What is more Nazi like than demonizing drugs by exaggerating the negative effects of drugs? What is more Nazi like than the ghetto/prison expirience that certain people get stuck in?

I don't care what people do, legalize everything and slam down hard on people that commit crimes while high. Don't care what you do to yourself if you are in your own home. And please get rid of the slap on the wrist for the rich and/or famous. If you kill someone with your car while under the influence and your a sports star you should go to jail for a long long long time just like any other poor drunken slob.
One of my ex's use to go trip on mushroom tea, he always ended up naked in a tree WTF I don't know, talking about riding a giant catapiller. Now that's the kind of crap ppl should go to jail for in regards to illegal substances.
And honestly, I don't do anything but caffeine and nicotine. I don't even do alcohol. But it's ridiculous to pay for all those folks in jail over possession. Like Stephaniems says, do something stupid or hurt someone while high and the law should come down hard.
I just think it's each person's life to live or waste as they please, as long as they only hurt themselves (yeah, yeah, I know that drug abuse hurts others, like family and friends. But ppl are going to do what they want to do, legal or not).
Fair enough. I'm willing to entertain the idea that there are some here who can match my lifetime intake of the various psychedelic drugs. Thing is, most people who say they've done a lot of dosing really don't know what constitutes "a lot." In general I've found that most people think a few trips is "a lot."
But there's no reason to get into a pissing match about it.

If you think taking psychedelics makes you a hippy, I submit to you that you know very little about it.
I'm not sure I'd send anyone to jail for it, but I agree that dosing someone without their knowledge is about the lowest thing a person can do. It's unethical in a big way.
I had 4 seizures, I'm pretty sure the POS deserved to go to jail, he didnt but karma is a biotch.
That sucks. As I said, dosing people without their knowledge is the lowest of the low. I'll revise my statement because on reflection, dosing someone without their knowledge really is akin to rape. Maybe people who do such things should be subject to prosecution.
What did he dose you with? It's pretty hardcore, whatever it was. This is definitely the type of thing someone should go to prison for.
I was 18 and high as a kite on mj anyway, I was passed what I thought was mj took a hit on it powder hit the back of my throat, I was instantly ...... and got out of the car. Passed out (my view) their view flopping around on the ground shaking and seizing, came to, shoved the fool off me and tried walking again seized again, came aware 2more times hitting and trying to get away from this fool. Finally stopped seizing he split and refused to ever say what it was. I never talked to the idiot again.
Figured some of it was my fault for being young and dumb. I agreed to the MJ (which is fairly harmless) not the other. I know I put myself in a dumb situation and got out of it before something worse happend.

That's crazy. 8-o Wow, I don't know what would do that unless you felt some sort of effects afterward. I'd say ...... or really strong ......., but you'd have felt really messed up one way or the other for a while with those. Could've been some random crap from the drugstore though...
I went from feeling really chill, to feeling like I would like to hurt him really really baddly, it was all surreal in the middle of those seizure I was having all kinds of "visions" dreams?? life flashing before my eyes was soo weird like watching a movie in fast forward with no sound. I knew he gave me something bad as soon as it hit my throat, chill to sober angry in a second. I didnt do anything else but the mj so I have no clue on what it was couldve been or anything. All I know is I had about 4 seizures and never wanted to be around him again.
Hmmm... maybe Ketamine, but that shouldn't cause seizures. Could've caused seizure-like reactions from you if you didn't know what was going on. It's a total dissociative, and in high doses could definitely cause the visions and flashes during the "seizure" parts. Would've worn off mostly in about 45 minutes too. Smoking it wouldn't do anything, but since you said the powder flew into your throat, it could've easily been absorbed that way. That's my best guess.
Thats the best guestimate i've heard but its been over 12 years now lol, just know I don't ever want to do that again. The most i'll do after that incident is a couple drinks every now and then.
If it was ketamine, at least it's not lethal (extremely high doses are needed). Still an insanely messed up thing to do.
