vaping is not "healthy"!
Now, wait. Let me explain before you guys rip me a new one.
Healthy is a word used to describe something that improves health, like exercising and good food. We are ingesting something in our bodies that is unnatural. The human body was never designed to smoke or inhale large amounts of vapor, so that leads me to believe that there COULD BE some minor health effects.
vaping is a reduced risk alternative! We know that vaping is so much better than smoking tobacco, but we dont know that it is harmless.
You have to realize that we are the guinea pigs for this new technological frontier. Yes, we know the VG and PG are harmless to the human body. But the artificial flavorings and colorings in food has been shown to cause cancer, the same ones in our ejuice.
We have to be realistic and entertain the opposing side too, that's how research get done and facts are found.
By the way, I'm very happy that vaping does exist to give an alternative to all smokers. We have all seen it improve lives.

OK. Fair enough, but ...

...compared to what?

You look like a very young chap - most of us here have converted to vaping after 40,50 or more years of smoking. You can't really make a blanket statement while only taking one side of the story into account. If you're vaping to be cool, then stop it. If you're upset about being a guinea pig, then stop it. :)

Nothing in life is 100% healthy from what I can tell. Even breathing the air outside, with all the pollutants, isn't 100% healthy.
I appreciate your point, but after nearly 30 years on analogs, I feel 99.99% better switching to vaping - the other 00.01% doesn't bother me at all :D

I'm sorry, but comparing what to what?
I am very young, about to turn 19. Smoked from 13-18, which wasn't that long.
I just think that until the hard evidence comes out that vaping truely is not harmful to our health that it is best if we, as a community, pass these off as a safer alternative to those looking to get off tobacco. I personally see it to be very possible that vaping be not harmful, just waiting on the long-term scientific research to be done.

Perception is a concern in the community. Let's be fair and acknowledge both "sides".

Most of us would not RECOMMEND vaping to someone that isn't using other substances. However, we do also understand that it is a free country and that we'd rather have people move toward vaping than other things which are nastier.

So you're correct...we don't say it's safe. We say we think it is safER than many other alternatives while providing things former smokers need to keep off the stinkies. However, the best thing to inhale is clean air and not vape at all.

I smoked for 29 years, and I haven't had an analog in almost 4 years now. While I don't know what long term effects the vapor will cause, I do know that I don't wake up coughing and gagging on my own lung gunk everyday like I used to. And I'm free of the thousands of known cancer causing agents that I used to ingest daily. So yeah, healthy? Maybe not, but it's damn sure not giving my body the immediate pounding it was getting from analogs.

Healthy is a word used to describe something that improves health, like exercising and good food.

And by your own definition it most certainly is Healthy. It does improve health to change form smoking to vaping, the same as it improves health to change form being a couch potato to walking one block per day, or changing from drinking whole milk to drinking 2% milk.

Is it as healthy as not inhaling anything but clean, unpolluted air? Of course not but, in this world, being able to do that is a rarity anyway. Is drinking low fat milk as healthy as drinking skim milk?
