I would add Mtbakervapor Arnold Palmer to this list. I don't have any pictures, but it ate through a Vivi Nova tank in 20 minutes the first day I received it. I got a few extra tanks and tested it some more; all tanks literally fell apart in a range of 15-25 minutes. I can obtain some more tanks if you'd like some photographic proof. However, in higher quality tanks, it has done no noticeable damage.

Where do you get a glass tank?

I've only used the Vivi Nova's and am having serious problems with the wicking material.

This thread seems to be very informative and instead of me throwing away more money I'd rather get the best quality products right from the start! Are there any set ups that I don't have to put together myself... basically components that are vape-ready after putting in my favorite juices?

After reading about the BPA in certain tanks... I'd rather just not go that route... I already drink too much h2o that is bottled and am getting bpa from there and who knows were else! I have found amazing Organic juices that I want to be as pure as possible! So... the juices are very pure, now my components are not. Not the combination I'm looking for!!!

Help? Thoughts?

Does anyone have any experience with "Hawaiian Punch" in a tank?

To me, all signs point to it being safe for a tank, but I'd rather not learn the hard way if anyone has already done it.

No one has reported problems yet. Hawaiian Punch could also be different from one vendor to another. Let us know.

Since I vape sooo many different flavors in cartotanks, I can't afford glass tanks. I use DCTanks, get the plastic capped tanks (tanks only) from myVaporStore, or the aluminum chromed capped DCTanks from HealthCabin. From HealthCabin, you also get a dc carto and drip tip. I just resell the dc cartos, but lots of folks like them. I get polypropylene tubes for the tanks from GotVapes. I cut the tubes down to fit a regular length single coil carto, my preference. This was the best option for me since I have over 3 dozen tanks currently rotating with different flavors.

It seems like a lot, but once your set, you're set. I also have extra O rings for inside and outside the caps, just in case. I've been using these for a very long time, and it's my "go-to" system for vaping.

Just remember that organic juices and flavors are not necessarily safer than anything else. Remember all of the toxic substances in nature. Not to say, they are in our vape juice.

I would like to report another flavor:

Name: Lemon Lime Flavor

Water soluble
This is the flavor of a LemonLime cooler - refreshing and not too sweet
Ingredients: Natural and Artificial flavors, Propylene Glycol, Ethyl Alcohol, Vitamin E, Polysorbate 80

Manufacturer: TPA (The Perfumers Apprentice)

Material of cracked tank: PMMA (Poly(methyl methacrylate) Poly(methyl methacrylate) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Aditional info:

Home made 16 mg/ml juice
50%PG / 50%VG
10% - 13% Lemon Lime Flavor

It cracked a PMMA tank (Odysseus clear tank, made by Kir Fanis) in 2 days.

It appears that liquid first affects the parts of the tank that are subject to more tension on it, as the threaded parts.

No, there isn't. This list is as specific as possible, referring to individual vendors when possible. All of this info has been given to me based on actual experience from ecf members.

It's possible to have a juice from two vendors with exactly the same name, but, because of different flavorings and additives, one may damage polycarbonate, and the other may not. IMHO, the list of "safe" juices would be an insurmountable task.

BTW, I update the master list when I have around 1/2 dozen to add to it.

Is there somewhere on this forum a list of flavors that DO NOT melt, crack, or harm tanks or clearos?

Hi - Great thread!

I'm surprised my favorite vape hasn't been added already. It's RH Candy Cane by Vixen Vapors. It melted 2 drip tips, a clearo and a vivi mini nova before I got a clue. I switched to a glass tank and thought I was home free...until the acrylic end caps melted. I still love the stuff and there has been an upside: I now have some lovely glass tanks with stainless steel caps, a selection of stainless steel and glass drip tips, and another little tank that is responsible for my ability to type polypropylene without spellcheck.

Below is the vivi and the acrylic caps. R.I.P. my little friends.

Most Recent UPDATE

My aim is to compile a list of juice and flavorings that may cause problems as far as cracking polycarbonate tanks. Anything listed here may cause your polycarbonate tank to crack. I am primarily focused on the polycarbonate tanks, although this info may apply to other tanks.

I am certainly not attempting to ban any flavors or ejuices. I'm just trying to help out some folks who continue use polycarbonate tank systems.

***Most, if not all, polycarbonate plastic by nature uses BPA in its manufacturing You can read about BPA leaching from plastics. Just google BPA. IMHO, it's just another good reason to move away from polycarbonate material.

Polypropylene is my personal choice for tank tubing because it it inexpensive and durable. This is the same material that is used to make syringes. Polypropylene tubing can be purchased here: McMaster-Carr. You can use 5/8"id x 3/4od for Liquinator tanks, Lil mama tanks, Big daddy tanks, Jtanks, and others. This tubing has a very slight curve to it, but will not be noticeable when cut to a short length. You can see a pic of a tank I made using this tubing with Liquinator endcaps here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tank-mods/259319-heres-pic-my-polypropylene-tank.html

The popular DCTanks can now be found made from polypropylene tubing. Polypropylene will not crack from a chemical reaction from using juices on this list. For some reason, most vendors are not stating the fact that these are made from polypropylene. IMO this is an excellent selling point that they are missing... These tanks can be used with some XL cartos, or they can be easily cut down to fit a standard sized carto, my personal preference, since I have a few dozen tanks, and I can't afford the pricier ones.

Glass tanks are also a wonderful alternative.

I am personally not familiar with the Vision Stardust type tanks. From what I hear, they are polycarbonate and folks seem to be having the same issues with cracking/frosting. I am also not familiar persoanally with Vivi Nova's, since I have found my happy place with polypropylene DCTanks.

All of the ejuice/flavors listed below have been reported by an ecf member to cause problems for them. YMMV.

Some of these are premixed juices, some are flavorings that DIY'ers use. Contributions have been made by myself and other members. So far we have:

Here is the list so far. Everything listed here has caused someone a problem with a polycarbonate tank. Some have reported no issues whatsoever with some of these juices/flavorings. Use at your own risk with polycarbonate tanks.

Perfumer's Apprentice lists triactetin as in ingredient in some of their flavors, so be sure to check that out. Triacetin has caused problems for many members.

Disclaimer: These are not "bad" juices. They just have the potential to cause cracking in tank systems using polycarbonate tubing.

Thanks to ECF Veteran member Stosh for alphabetizing it for me. :)
