Yea, I know how to microcoil. But the 'feed port' design I'm used to is a lot easier than wrapping around a screw.

First half- assed coil metered at 5.5 Ohms, so I scrapped that and went back to 11- 12 wrap on a 5/64 for a metered 1.7 ohms.
But now the ProVari reads " E 1"
Make sure your coil isnt touching the deck

OK, as crazy as it sounds, I reversed the coil, creating more room between the legs and deck. Weren't touching to begin with, but this creates a few mm more space.
After dryburn, coil at 1.8 ohms. IMG_20141011_083856_813.jpg

lol, Papaw. Wick looks a little short to me but I tend to make mine longer than anyone else does.

As long as they reach the deck it should work.

I cut the wicks so they wouldn't quite reach the chimney threading.
ProVari + KFL Lite +.jpg The finished Product.
At 5'7" I am not a big guy. But, in my younger days, bigger guys would comment on the length of my fingers. "Play Guitar" and "have you ever tried the Piano ?" are comments I've heard more than once. As you might see by the photo, I tend to carry small objects with my fingers rather than in the palm of my hand...
Observations; Small. The ProVari Mini is a lot smaller, in diameter and length, than I expected. Yet there is a certain amount of weight, or 'heft', to this little device. Seems durable. The KFL Lite +. by comparison to the RM2, is a royal pain in the ..... The non-conductive deck and wire feed ports of the RM2 make it a lot easier to work with. Vapor production and Flavor seem right in line with the Grand and VV Grand. I can see why this setup is so popular.
The ProVari Mini/ KFL Lite + is a quality vaping setup. This would probably make for an excellent stealth device for those in unfriendly environments ( Office Professionals, Health Care Workers, etc. ).A Full sized ProVari, with Extended End Cap to accommodate an 18650 Battery, combined with a KFL type attachment, would make for an excellent At-Home Device. However, due to it's narrow, tubular and seemingly top-heavy design, I don't think I would take one of these out on a Big Rig for several days. If anything were to happen to my VV Grands, I would probably look to a ProVari for an At-Home PV.

P.S. Forgot to mention; Highbrow Caramel Cake 12mg @ 30/70 PG/VG, using 1.8 ohm coil and cotton wicks.

After vaping a couple ml, I find no leaks. I am not getting any 'gurgling' sounds, but I am detecting an ever so slight wisp of vapor escaping the bottom air port after each vape. Does that sound about right for the KFL Lite Plus v2 ?

All three of mine do that. Nice review of your experience! I appreciate knowing how they compare to your REOs.

Sorry about that, but this is the first non-Reos device I've vaped in over a year and a half. I guess that's all I have to compare it to....

No, it's a good thing! People who have REOs end up really loving them, and I've been curious about them. I found I like the cylinder form over the box form, otherwise REOs would be very tempting. :)

That's it in a nutshell. I like the REO because I can put it in the palm of my hand, wrap my fingers around it and still find the fire button (top or side). As I mentioned, the ProVari/ KFL flavor and vapor production is right in line with the Grand/ VV Grand and RM2.
It's all what the user is comfortable with...

If you let go the firing button a second or two before you stop drawing on it, you will get the excess vapor out of the device. If you stop drawing on it at the same time as you let the firing button go, the excess flows out of the bottom air port. Much the same as vapor escaping out of the side air port on an RDA.

If I was in time before you put it back together, I would have told you that your Fat Bottomed Girl may be a little too fat.. if you get my drift. Since the cotton swells up when soaked, it can potentially block the chimney on the inside and starve the coil from wicking efficiently.

What? Papaw got himself a Provari Mini? What's the world coming to? Have the Martians landed or something?

Congrats on the Provari Papaw. I still love mine. I dropped it hard on concrete a couple of times recently, and now the fire button has to be pressed in a long way to make it fire. I emailed Provape and got an RMA ticket to send it in. I expect for a reasonable price they'll have it fixed up like new in no time. That's one of the great things about the Provari.

LOL. It's a 'loaner' that someone was kind enough to send me. I will most likely be returning it, along with the KFL Lite + I purchased. Just wanted to try a ProVari.
If I ever do buy a ProVari, it'll most likely be a full sized, with extended end, so my Grand batteries would match.

I am really looking forward to trying that DNA40 - hopefully in a "factory" mod at a reasonable price (I noticed the Evolve guy had it in a Vaporshark). I'm already on two waiting lists for a couple of spendy mods from small shop mod makers. If not reasonable, I might see if I feel like putting it into one of those printable mods.

The only time I've had any serious leaking problems were when taking it from air conditioning out to a hot & humid summer. Bad enough that I pretty much didn't use any of mine this summer.

However, I have heard (and the manual states) that changes in altitude can cause some leakage. Not sure how much change it takes, but I do know that NC goes from sea level to several thousand feet. Does your elevation change much while you drive? That would be a good test to see if it's for you.

ETA: NM, I see it may not be for you anyway.

As some of you may know, I bought a Zenith some time back. I was disappointed to find out that the 510 threads were off, but I fixed that. Since then, I was still less than loving it (perhaps due to the arrival of a Magma, Odin, and Veritas), but I always suspected that I just hadn't built it to its potential.

Today, I finally had the time and a strong enough urge to try Twisted Messes Zipper Coil: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Aml3pJlCEQ

It took some time, but I got it right (well, close) on the first try. I went with a single zipper, 6 wraps at 0.3Ω, rayon wick drenched with some NEMP and - WOW! This brought out so much flavor that I think it might beat Mundy's Magic wire.

zenith_zipper.jpg

Woaa! That drinks the juice fast! That was during my first drip. Good thing I switched to rayon, or that would likely have burnt the cotton already (all the more reason I'm looking forward to that DNA40).

I don't run these fancy wires all the time (mostly just simple micro (dual) coils, but they can be fun to play with. I may have to twist/twist/flatten/twist some more of this stuff.
