Alright guys. So, my R2D2 Vamo broke months ago. I picked up an iTaste SVD. Does the job, but CAT was always better on my Vamo v1. It just was. This hits harder, where the Vamo was smoother; and left this back of the pallet apple awesomeness. So I'm wondering if I just try to find another Vamo v1.. maybe get a latest version? Or maybe there is a new nifty toy out there that I'm not aware of. Suggestions?

The big question is how much do you want to spend and how long are you willing to wait.

what killed the vamo?? I went to the SVD and am very pleased with its quality... the 510 threads in the Vamos are plated brass and will eventually wear out leaving you with a floppy atty... the SVD has SS threads, it will last much longer. Even tho the Vamo5 has SS exterior body, the 510 threads are still the brass... never did understand their reasoning for keeping the brass top cap...

I think the bolt in the middle of the connection area sunk too low. Probably fixable.... but not sure how to.

I was messing around with X-Cel and made a quicky coil making program. Works rather well, pretty accurate.
you put in the dia of the wire, the diameter of the shaft the coil is wound on, the ohms per inch, number of wraps you want/need.

it gives you resistance for single, dual, tri, and quad coils ( being all coils are equally built) and will give you the length of wire per coil to get an approximation of wire needed to make coils. It even takes into account of the length of the legs of the coils to the posts too.

made 3 different sets using 30 and 28 ga. each... values fell within .05 ohms on each sample from actual and projected by program ( the actual was usually on the higher side than the projected, probably a good thing... built in safety factor)

Xcel can be fun sometimes. I had thought about doing something like that when somebody posted Coil wrapping | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators

There's an Advanced button on that page that offers more variables. I also like the Battery drain | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators from the same site. And he has Ohm's Law and e-liquid calculators there, as well. Lots of handy vaper calculators in one place.

I gots a shiney today. A Zenith Double Cross V1 clone and 2 Efest 2100 mAh 30A batteries. Truth is the A7 hits really good with the 30A battery. I knew my year+ old 650s were showing there age. Where's the pics ? I know better than to post something like this without pics. My first build was dual .8 ribbon with a 3/4 wrap came in at .2 ohm. Lower than I wanted but wow did it hit and it was hot. Redid it with 4/5 wrap and was .4 which is better. Still hits stupid hard and still hot but the flavor is better. Think I'll stop by the B/M again tomorrow and get a longer drip tip. That should help cool it down a little. The slots made putting a ribbon in real easy. And lastly when the B/M gets the HHV in I'm getting some lower nic for this thing. They're not getting Sludge this first order so may use the A7 for the rest of my current bottle or vape a little less.

Cool Hot!

I've have that same atty on pre-order from Kidney Puncher since early April. They bumped the estimated release date yet again - to June 8th! I HATE pre-orders!

I'm ready for some comedy. What better place than the hardware thread?

Time to dig through your bone boxes and take pictures of some of your old clunkers. We need some laughs.

Here's my first e-cig..a ProSmoke. Automatic battery (that lasted about an hour) and foam-stuffed cartridges that didn't work worth a damn. Ahahahahahaha...what a piece of crap!!!

Saveasmoker kit to the left. Cost something like 80$ or more and broke within 2 weeks.
Blu lol...
Ego-c from liberty-flights..
This was my progression to the ego.
Bought the blu June 2011 after failing miserably with the saveasmoker which was from 2010 I think. It was awesome honestly but one of the two batts failed within 2 weeks. The blu too was great but I assumed quitting smoking was easy and went from full flavor to no nicotine in a matter of one month. Only made it another month before I went back to smokes.
The egoc was eeexpensive also especially after seeing the egot kits going for 30$, but I didn't notice till I checked out.

My SVD has been one tough mod , it's survived drops on concrete that did kill my Vamo , besides the stainless steel threads it's center pin is spring loaded , don't know if you noticed that on yours but it avoids the 2 main Vamo killing issues , you might want to hang on to it . I was running a .8ohm coil in my IGO on top the SVD at 15 watts , did a pretty good job of fogging up the room last night , I'm waiting to see if the Hana mods are any good but I honestly can't think off anything besides a Sigeli that's in the same class as the Vamo and SVD that I'd be willing to recommend and I don't care for the Sigeli , maybe a Tesla ? What are you using for a topper , that's more important than the mod is IMO ?

I trashed and PIF'd my cigalikes. None of the spinners lasted and went to the trash. One vamo trashed and another splashed over the side.

Speaking of which, I lost my EA and my first KFL over the side yesterday

    The REO survived.

sounds like the positive pin insulator went soft on ya... Mine did the same thing, I pulled the pin upward and out of the 510 thread attachment and unsoldered the wire. Took an old Blu cartridge apart, took out the silicone seal trimmed it to size, slid it onto the +pin, resoldered the pin to the wire and carefully pushed the pin/seal back into place. use fingernail clippers to trim the silicone seal from the blu cartridge :)

What a great excuse to clean out the bottom of the vape box.

These are my little "memory box" contents:

Ce3s. Wow. I remember the day I was over them. Tossed one across an entire parking lot. Either they were amazing and a great vape, or they were dry hit leaking mother fraks

Those 4 still work OK. I remember Bronze telling me to take them apart to clean and reuse them. THAT was a fun task!
