Alright guys. So, my R2D2 Vamo broke months ago. I picked up an iTaste SVD. Does the job, but CAT was always better on my Vamo v1. It just was. This hits harder, where the Vamo was smoother; and left this back of the pallet apple awesomeness. So I'm wondering if I just try to find another Vamo v1.. maybe get a latest version? Or maybe there is a new nifty toy out there that I'm not aware of. Suggestions?
The big question is how much do you want to spend and how long are you willing to wait.
what killed the vamo?? I went to the SVD and am very pleased with its quality... the 510 threads in the Vamos are plated brass and will eventually wear out leaving you with a floppy atty... the SVD has SS threads, it will last much longer. Even tho the Vamo5 has SS exterior body, the 510 threads are still the brass... never did understand their reasoning for keeping the brass top cap...
I guess... maybe 75 bucks less than a Provari. Wait? 3 months...maybe 4.
I think the bolt in the middle of the connection area sunk too low. Probably fixable.... but not sure how to.

This was my progression to the ego.
Bought the blu June 2011 after failing miserably with the saveasmoker which was from 2010 I think. It was awesome honestly but one of the two batts failed within 2 weeks. The blu too was great but I assumed quitting smoking was easy and went from full flavor to no nicotine in a matter of one month. Only made it another month before I went back to smokes.
The egoc was eeexpensive also especially after seeing the egot kits going for 30$, but I didn't notice till I checked out.

My SVD has been one tough mod , it's survived drops on concrete that did kill my Vamo , besides the stainless steel threads it's center pin is spring loaded , don't know if you noticed that on yours but it avoids the 2 main Vamo killing issues , you might want to hang on to it . I was running a .8ohm coil in my IGO on top the SVD at 15 watts , did a pretty good job of fogging up the room last night , I'm waiting to see if the Hana mods are any good but I honestly can't think off anything besides a Sigeli that's in the same class as the Vamo and SVD that I'd be willing to recommend and I don't care for the Sigeli , maybe a Tesla ? What are you using for a topper , that's more important than the mod is IMO ?

Yup , but I'm thinking I want some 26ga wire to play with now , could be interesting .
I trashed and PIF'd my cigalikes. None of the spinners lasted and went to the trash. One vamo trashed and another splashed over the side.
Speaking of which, I lost my EA and my first KFL over the side yesterday

you NEED a lanyard/neckstrap...
sounds like the positive pin insulator went soft on ya... Mine did the same thing, I pulled the pin upward and out of the 510 thread attachment and unsoldered the wire. Took an old Blu cartridge apart, took out the silicone seal trimmed it to size, slid it onto the +pin, resoldered the pin to the wire and carefully pushed the pin/seal back into place. use fingernail clippers to trim the silicone seal from the blu cartridge

Those 4 still work OK. I remember Bronze telling me to take them apart to clean and reuse them. THAT was a fun task!
