I find the Veritas as easy to build and rewick as any other device I own, maybe even easier since it is a pull cap instead of a screw on cap.

BTW, our Achilles are screw-ons. Kind of unusual for a dripper.

Once the Achilles is in, I should be able to set up side by side comparisons. Who knows, in another three years or so I might actually come up with a few flavors I like.
From what I've been reading in the DIY section, there is no 'clone' for Legend. Still have to order that one...

did they mention clones for DF or PB?

None that I have seen. A couple of 'Bubba Bounty', or whatever it's called.
HHV flavors seem to be pretty unique. And, I believe, quite tasty !
I wouldn't even be thinking DIY if it were not for our' beloved' Gub'ment.

OK, I have complained quite a bit about the quality (Intentionally spelled with a small case 'Q') of this $7 Veritas. Now it's time to give credit - It does exactly what I bought it for. I can change wick / flavors in under two minutes. That's not an exaggeration.
This 'dripper' concept is quite foreign to a devoted Reonaut, but this little device will allow me to 'test' small samples of DIY mixtures quickly and easily. This is why I purchased the FT Veritas to begin with.
Papaw if you don't wanna send that Veritas back to FT , maybe you can try putting thicker o-rings on it .

Postage would cost almost as much as the Veritas. I have thought about maybe searching a few Hardware stores (not big boxes, actual Hardware store) to see if I could get slightly thicker O-rings to match.

Boba's Bounty! I don't think anyone has been able to fully duplicate it. I hear you on the gooberment part. I am leaning that direction myself. I already have the nic. It just is in the freezer, to keep me from a full on panic. Besides, I had to get it, while the gettin' was good. (if you know what I mean...plus it was a great sale, big discount) Once the word gets out, more people will be buying this stuff, and hoarding it. That means the price will most likely go up.

FT would reimburse you on the postage , but it would take a month to conclude swapping it out , you have six months to send it back , do your DIY testing and then send it back , sounds fair to me . :)

I have a honey tobacco alcohol concentrate from vaping zone that to me tastes identical to dragons fire. On the other hand dusty says he tastes no honey in df so of course YMMV. I also have a concentrate mix from there that tastes somewhere between oompa and temptation to me that I love

Their blackberry also tastes just like crackberry. But these are all my opinions, and I still have some from hhv I haven't been able to recreate

There is someone who claims to have come up with a Legend clone, but he's using flavors from three vendors and TA to get there.
The easy way is to just leave it to Adam and Heather.

I am sure I didn't get 2 lemons. The threading is fine (well that plastic window tank piece is a pita, but I assume that's the fact that it's plastic). I don't have any problems with my threadings on the kfl, the Achilles is just super smooth. Sounds like it's the material rather than the machining. Either way, I love them both. I'll be on the look out for a titanium kfl ;)

The Achilles, by Yeahsmo. Marketed by Frog in Fog. Initial Impressions :

Comes in a neat little box that includes Hex Key, Spare Screws and Spare O-rings in addition to small quantities of Kanthal and Silica. "Customs Declared" as Commercial Sample.
Lighter Metal than a Kayfun. Three separate section; Base, Top and Cylinder that base and top screw into. Threads slightly course, but that might clear up after a good cleaning. O-rings in top and base are heavier than either KFL or Veritas. If everything mates well this could be leak-proof. Air intake similar to KFL+ V2, with adjustment set screw (hex head). Air draw raised between + and - posts (Phillips head), should draw directly from coil. Top cap is flat inside, with draw tube extending 1/4" or so downward. This looks like it would create 'dead space' at top of Cylinder chamber, unless design allows for induction type air flow. No Drip Tip provided, but I have several lying around. Currently soaking in 91% Iso, will post again after assembled and vaped.

Yay! It sounds just like mine. Here are some pics to compare it to.

Top cap removed AFTER I inhaled... So much vapor!

Base with a dirty nickel coil that works perfectly, full of juice :)

    Constructed Exactly like that...

I hastily just grabbed a piece of Kanthal that was lying in my RBA (tackle) box and twisted up an eight-wrap that metered @ 1.4 ohms. Attached to a ProVari P3.
This thing is a wick eater. 2" to 2 1/4" of wicking needed to reach reservoirs on either side.
There is no easy way to drip into the Achilles. Either remove the top cap, or use a needle tip bottle or a syringe. In my case, I am using a glass dripper that is used to mix/ create small batches of DIY and inserting tip of glass dripper into drip tip access to feed liquid.
Having said that; The Achilles is the Anti-Cloud Chaser. This is a PURE flavor hunting RDA.
The initial few draws were a little airy, so I've turned the AFC set screw in maybe 1/4 turn past flush. This provides a cigarette-like draw that is dripping with flavor. Vapor Production is quite modest, but that is not what makes this little beauty shine. Starting at 8W and working up, by the time I reach 11 Watts even a wider bore drip tip cannot slow down the amount of flavor. In respect to Flavor, this Achilles is a half-step beyond what the Kayfun and the Veritas provide, and is in the RM2 territory.
This is the first attachment I would rate as a 'Must Try' for Battery Tube style mods, including the ProVari. A Definite Two-Thumbs Up !

I'm so glad your first interaction with the Achilles has been good. I take the top cap off to fill it. It holds well over 2mls so it's not like I need to uncap that frequently. It does need one LONG wick huh?

Now try to get it to leak. Mine only will if I overfill it.

What I'd like to know is why this hasn't gotten more chatter on this thread ?
Or have you been keeping secrets from us, April ? :sneaky:
I have found that filling over the intake creates bubbling and gurgling sounds, but I just siphoned off a little juice and kept going. This 'Dripper' holds as much juice as some smaller tank systems.
