Well, if pop got his today then I should get mine in about a week or so. It strikes me as a flavor hound for sure. The reason it is not more popular is because no one knows about it. I 'don't think you can find an authentic anywhere. Like they made one batch and disappeared. Then only the one clone dealer. there just isn't many out there. The Veritas is a near-unknown as well for the same reason. They're just poorly marketed products.

I just got a bottom fed Derringer clone in today. It is made by Cigreen. It is very good for the money. The other clone I have is not bottom fed. The afc ring keeps coming off, every time you take off the cap. (on the one that is NOT bottom fed) Still I love the Derringer. It puts out a little more vapor than the Quasar. But the Quasar to me has just a little bit better flavor. (maybe if I'd stop vaping it so much, the taste will get better...lol) I have HHV Heavenly tobacco in there. I hope to see which atty is better on flavor. I have both of them set up in single coil, at least for now. The bottom fed atty/mod is definitely my favorite. I doubt if I will be buying anything else from now on. I still use the other stuff, but not nearly as much.

New Orleans La.
Postage would cost almost as much as the Veritas. I have thought about maybe searching a few Hardware stores (not big boxes, actual Hardware store) to see if I could get slightly thicker O-rings to match.

you can try the dental floss trick.... wrap a few turns of floss in the groove and then put the Oring back on...

    Constructed Exactly like that...

I hastily just grabbed a piece of Kanthal that was lying in my RBA (tackle) box and twisted up an eight-wrap that metered @ 1.4 ohms. Attached to a ProVari P3.
This thing is a wick eater. 2" to 2 1/4" of wicking needed to reach reservoirs on either side.
There is no easy way to drip into the Achilles. Either remove the top cap, or use a needle tip bottle or a syringe. In my case, I am using a glass dripper that is used to mix/ create small batches of DIY and inserting tip of glass dripper into drip tip access to feed liquid.
Having said that; The Achilles is the Anti-Cloud Chaser. This is a PURE flavor hunting RDA.
The initial few draws were a little airy, so I've turned the AFC set screw in maybe 1/4 turn past flush. This provides a cigarette-like draw that is dripping with flavor. Vapor Production is quite modest, but that is not what makes this little beauty shine. Starting at 8W and working up, by the time I reach 11 Watts even a wider bore drip tip cannot slow down the amount of flavor. In respect to Flavor, this Achilles is a half-step beyond what the Kayfun and the Veritas provide, and is in the RM2 territory.
This is the first attachment I would rate as a 'Must Try' for Battery Tube style mods, including the ProVari. A Definite Two-Thumbs Up !
Glad you're enjoying the Achille's Papaw , might have to get me one now . For that matter neither the Veritas , the Kayfun or even the Magma match the flavor the Rose V2 gives me . If the Achille's is a half step beyond the Veritas and the Kayfun in flavor that puts it in my wheelhouse .

Well I am still trying to decide if the Derringer or the Quasar is better in the taste dept. Yesterday the Derringer was really good. This morning, it wasn't. I think I vaped too much Heavenly Tobacco. So this morning, I couldn't wait to see what the taste was like. It wasn't good, it was kinda bad. So I took the wick out, dry burned, and filled it up again. Then I thought, I need water, so after some water, it was a little better. Sometimes after you eat, the flavor is more prominent. It got a little better, but still not good. So then I switched back to the Quasar. The Quasar to me, at this point, was better. This juice is not as aged as what I was using, and that probably has something to do with it. The Derringer is much smaller than the Quasar, and much lighter too. (that is a plus) So for now, I saw the Quasar is better. The Quasar was used, and Catfish Atty Mods did the bottom fed portion of the atty. It came bottom fed, when I bought it. It feeds better than the Derringer. But the Derringer for 17 bucks feeds pretty good. So there you have it. (for those interested)

You're in it up to your neck now . :) You need to change flavors to avoid vapers tongue , the only solution is Papaw's solution , another REO . :)

Yes, I think you hit the nail on the proverbial head, my friend. I get vaper's tongue way too easily. I have to have flavor changes, but not as much, as I did initially. The Reo is just so freaking awesome though. This one was given to me. But I have been saving for one. I am so tempted to just say to heck with it, and get one. I even have told myself that I wanted a Woodvil. But then I saw the price change, and my heart sunk.

Retic, you have to try one of these things. It is a mech with a dripper taste, but no constant dripping. The best of both worlds. It doesn't leak, well if you do it right it won't... I am sure some attys leak. If you over squonk it will leak. The thing I am concerned about is the heat. I am afraid to leave my Reo out in the vehicle, say at a store parking lot. I always crack the windows so I don't croak, when I get back in the truck. The heat may make it leak, I'm not sure. It hasn't leaked in the truck so far.

I bought two reducer tubes, which are tiny. You put one on the end of the regular feed tube. You also put a v in the end, so it won't pull a suction off the bottom, as that can leak. The reducer tubes will help it from leaking in very hot temps. Most people probably don't need them. But as you know, it gets hot as Hades down this way. Anyway, I prefer the 18650 size. It has a 6ml bottle. I never let the bottle get too low. It is easier to squonk, if the bottle is pretty full. After you have a new bottle, the squonking gets easier, because the bottle gives some, requiring less pushing with your finger, to feed the atty.

At first I thought it was going to be too hard for my arthritis. But I try to change the finger I push the bottle with too. After 2-3 weeks, the bottle is much easier to push. I guess you could say it is softer. I also have found that since I've been using the mechs, I have been changing the batteries out by 3.8-3.9 volts. LOL. I think I prefer it 3.9-4 volts...which I usually vape right there on a regulated device. I rarely if ever vape below 3.8 volts anymore. I did try sub ohm vaping. It wasn't for me. Which I am kind of glad about that. I like 1.0-1.3 ohms the best. 1.1-1.2 is ideal.

Haven't bought any new gear since the KFV4 - that and the KFL are my main devices now. Once in a while I'll fill up the KF Mini or throw some of BK's luscious Rum tobacco into the Magma just to change up the flavors a bit. However, all this talk about the Achille's has my trigger finger itching again.

I should be getting mine within a week. Looking forward to it. I was intrigued ever since Ms. April got hers. She might of got the last authentic.

There is someone who claims to have come up with a Legend clone, but he's using flavors from three vendors and TA to get there.
The easy way is to just leave it to Adam and Heather.
That made me chuckle..I'm doubtful as I have found out Legend is one complex juice..Takes forever for it to come together but when it does...uh huh :p

Papaw..IMHO all tanks are wick eaters, leakers, and just a PITA,.. and that is why for the very last time I'll say this..I'm so over tanks of any kind..Another Reo lpg is what I need as a back-up,..after the big move next weekend I'm ordering one too. I do not care the color or even if I can only put a RM4 on it..I just need a back-up since that firing pin incident:

Probably gets old moving your crap again, huh? Or did you de-crap before you made your last move?
I de-crapped my friend..I still had things in storage at my BIL's home where I am at now..I needed new stuff anyway so this weekend all but my shop tools and Kennedy tool chest and roll around..fishing gear and a few other personal items will still fit into the smallest of U-Haul trucks..I won't need one of those as my nieces BF has a small trailer I can pull behind my truck this time..hehe
