when you do opposed coils you are supposed to wrap the twin coil in the opposite direction to keep the flux field the same.... since you wrapped both coils in the same direction and did an inverted opposed install, the flux field created by both coils will counter each other thus reducing the effectiveness of the electron flow thru the coils... imagine all the energy you are wasting away that could be put to good use vaporizing all that juice.... rewrap at least one coil in the proper direction Dusty.... do it right... :)

He's ok BK, get off his back. You and I both know darn well that when he has the slots on the screws triangulated like they are, it offsets the countered flux field.

I must say, it would be an honor for me to be in the presence of two such fine gentlemen as Dusty and Calve. WOW! What a treat. And Calve and I may hit up the HHV b&m store in Newnan on our way back. You going there Dusty?

WOOT! I can't wait. :w00t:

Yes, I am.. on the 14th.

I'll have to do some research. The only mechs I have use 14500 size batteries (one each) - need to find out the C rating on these Efest IMR 14500 700 mAh to see if they can handle sub-ohm vaping.

Drive by post.....

I may be able to answer that... IF I'm remembering correctly ( big IF ).... I pretty sure I read those batts have an 8C discharge rating.... which would allow up to 5.6a,

Just remember that most battery ratings are over-rated

Thanks for the fly-by post, rdsok! Mayhap, I'll just keep my head and coils, above the water line for a while longer.

Come on REO!

I foresee that sub-ohming will become much less important now that the regulated mod's have a much higher amperage outputs available. In fact... it only became popular because of the mech mods ( that can handle high amperage levels therefore higher wattages ) couldn't boost the power without going sub-ohm. The newer regulated mods now have higher amperage outputs than the earlier ones... sub-ohms will be relied on much less as we move forward since they aren't as efficient and aren't needed actually to get to the power levels we are now trying to achieve.

What I think we'll find more important now... is increasing the surface areas on the coils so we can spread the heat out across a larger area ( so the juice doesn't burn ) and increase the saturation of flavor and/or vapor. In short, we'll be focusing even more on the coil's surface area and the atomizer and air flow... and less on the lower resistance of the coil.

One more thing. I've handled the Provari V3 and all I'll say (all I can say!) is start saving your money.

You could have the right of it. More surface area = ribbon wire. Which is what I use.

Dusty any info on the new Provari's specs ?

Yup.. can't say though! :(

All I know is that I will be getting one. It's all I wanted out of a V3 and much more. Much much more!

Zen had some sexy stuff there too, and I told him, had Phil not shown me the V3, I probably would have dropped some cash at his table.

It was so nice to sit and chat with Phil and Zen. Both amazing and down-to-earth individuals.

Won't it be nice to have a regulated mod that can handle a high draw? I'd be able to have a warm vape with more than 8 wraps. I can't wait till I can hit 25+ watts with 12 wraps. I'd bet the flavor and hit would be so potent.

Any idea as to when V3 will be available?
