I bought an EHPro KFL+. Before I send it back, I want to make sure of something. Does the bottom centerpost screw on that one unscrew just like the centerpost screw on the hcigar kayfun 3.1?

I assume it does, and if so then my EHPro KFL+ has stripped threads.

Mine is the HCigar KFL+ v2. Maybe you already know this, but the bottom screw is not adjustable for contact positioning like the 3.1. Unscrewing it will loosen the top block.

Edit: When the top block is loosened, like mine was when I got it, the only way to tighten it was by using a separate wrench to hold the top block in place. Otherwise, the screw just spun and did not cinch down the top block.

As LA said it doesn't function the same ,the 3'1s centerpost is two pieces and adjustable , the KFL's centerpost is all one piece and not really adjustable . if you can't get it to tighten while holding the positive block in place you've got a problem .

I'll have to check that VDO out later, getting ready for company today and I'm on lunch break. It's the Queen's B-day and Thai Mother's Day - long weekend. humphphph! I always have long weekends - working!

In other news: Got some pics up of my style of wicking the SvoeMesto genuine KFL which follows pretty close to how they show it on the owner's manual. Only exception is that in the manual the coil is placed at angle between the screws, where mine is at 90˚, perpendicular to the screws. I rest easy knowing there's an added cushion of space between the coil and screws and the angled wick doesn't impede juice feeding (as far as I can tell).

For Sam and Lt. Col. Killjoy, this is Rayon wick* in a 1.9 ohm 30 ga Kanthal wire, Inner Diameter (ID) is just a smidgen over 2mm (my mandril is a length of coat hanger - I think I put pics up here of my coil gig. I'll try to include a link when I find them.)

*This Rayon (thanks LA) comes in a finger width strand 10 feet long with fibers running fairly straight along the length of the strand . Taking a cross section about 2 inches long and cutting lengthwise can make 3-4 wicks, depending on ones coil ID.

Anywho, notice that the wick is wet with liquid and rolled between my fingers to an even diameter before I thread the coil - it helps to slide the wick through. The wick is slightly larger than the Outer Diameter (OD) of the coil (where cotton should be about equal to the OD.) A magnifying glass does wonders here. As I pull the wick through I hold the coil in place with my fingernail.

After that, I fold the wick down and lay it in an L shape atop the deck and trim it even with the screw. Since it's wet with juice, I paste it against the wall going up to the coil making sure the vertical juice channels and threads are clear of fiber.

Next carefully screw on the chamber for the chimney and check the ohms, then maybe put few more drops of juice in for good measure and hit the fire bah-in (oops Brasardian slip) to watch clouds form & juice spray. :D

Finally got around to rewicking the Heron with cotton , it really needs that expansion to work properly without fluff , its a much better vape now .

I went back to rayon with fluff Retic. I'm using just less than a two inch strip the width of the bell stem. Take my needle and make it even, making sure it's touching the sides. Wick the rayon same as the cotton and it's actually pretty darn good.

I rebuilt the Magma with dual 28ga, 2mm ID, 8 wraps for .7 ohm result, per Retic's suggestion. Wicked with rayon, loaded up with Legend. Big difference! Prior build was 30ga, 12 wraps for a 1.4 ohm result. The Stingray took a long time to fire that one. So the first vape of this build was a surprise - instant, warm vapor. Amazing flavor too. Loving this Magma even more.

Pretty much the exact build I have on, but for .8 ohm. I must have an extra wrap on mine.

What nic level of Legend are you using?

I'm finally chucking clouds with the Magma wide open with the dual 3mm holes, but had to drop down to 100%VG 3mg nic juice I picked up from VapeCan last weekend. Anything higher and it'd set off the choke reflex on lung hits.

I've placed on order today at HHV for 100% VG 3mg nic, of DF, Legend and PB.

Fasttech order shipped, and should hopefully arrive in Toronto next week with the other two Magmas. A Magma dedicated to each of the 3 juices listed above. :D

Cool! Here's to no-glitches and fast arrival of those beauties!

Legend is 15 mg. That first hit almost choked me, but that was because I wasn't expecting so much vapor so quickly. I do need to take it easy at that nic level, but this bottle is aged and the flavor is wonderful. There could be another Magma or two in my future, but that leads to more PVs to run them on...

BTW - what is the nic level of the Serendipity and Boba's? The Apache is marked 0, and I'm planning to mix it with Legend in the Magma when I'm done delighting in the straight up Legend goodness. Looks like you'll be PIF'ing that DF from me! It was 60/40, 15 mg. You were gracious to take it anyway. Whattaguy! :D

15?! You must have lungs of steel..

Serendipity and Boba's are both 12. Apache is 9mg. MOV marks as 0 so that there's no customs issues.

Your DF says 18mg if I remember correctly.. yeah, took it anyway, because I didn't want to say no to you. :)

I'll mix it down with something I have and use it. Never re-gift a gift. :D

    Legend + Apache = Legendary Apache! :D

Ah, the DF must have been before I move down to 15 mg. I like your style, sir. :)

One of my mom's favorite stories is that when I was about 5, I received a birthday gift from a relative that was a duplicate of the gift from another relative. I never let on, just smiled, thanked and hugged them.

Yes, Legendary Apache is the plan. Excited to try the Serendipity in the Magma too - it was not thrilling in the KF, but shines in the Magma. Should be great on this build. Thanks again!

Why thank you, Retic! Thanks to your guidance, I didn't even break into a nervous sweat. I'm glad I had time to get comfortable with the Stingray and the multimeter first. I didn't even add the VapeSafe. It was all about chasing the flavor. :)
