Could it be your firewall blocking it? Some pop up blockers can mess with sites loading too.

Edit: the REOS site has the age confirmation pop up when it loads. Something in your security settings may not be allowing that form to come up.

Thanks LA. I'll check the firewall settings and the popup blocker again - maybe the settings got changed when I upgraded to Maverick. I think that's about the time I started to have problems accessing the site.

The error message I get say, XXX (browser name) cannot find the server.

I always wondered if there was a Veritas thread. I almost started my own. Yes, I see a couple people who had that metallic taste. Funny you have it on one but not the other. I don't have that problem fortunately. It's just pure vape bliss from mine. I'd just boil the heck out of it in plain water...distilled if you have it. Otherwise bottled water. Maybe the tap water is making it taste metallic.

Just confirms that clones are a buyer beware proposition.

Yeah, color me annoyed. That metallic taste has wrecked my palette at this moment. Maybe I need a beer.

I always use bottled water, but I'm going to try boiling in distilled. But later, because my 18 yr old (youngest) has taken over the kitchen for baking. :)

I'd love to see a pic of your build on it sometime, if you don't mind. The build before this one was a horizontal microcoil, excellent flavor and warmth. I'm watching some videos, and they mention that horizontal coils on the Veritas will have a hot leg on the one going to the positive post. I did have that on my build. Is that a serious issue to worry about?

I had that lead curved away from the top of the deck, to avoid shorting. The hot leg makes me wonder if that's why RIPTripper put cotton behind it on his build.

Many of those bottled waters have minerals added to them now that I think about it. Just wondering if that's causing it. Yes, see what the distilled does for you.

I'll post a pix of my build next chance I have. It's just a single horizontal. I believe it was 28ga., 10 wrap, 2.0mm...but I forgot already. :) I did not notice a hot leg. At least it did not glow. Maybe I'll ask on that Veritas thread if anyone knows why Tripper put that piece behind the leg. Still baffles me.

Just looked up some info, and seems that hot leg may have been a short in the coil. I didn't notice any issues with it, and the ZNA didn't throw any errors. I'll have to watch out for that. Practice, practice, practice.

Maybe the taste is off on my first Veritas because of the Kanthal I got. Just a short segment of 26 ga from Vivid Smoke that I grabbed just to try. I'm going to rebuild with my trusty 28 ga. Get some vape bliss back before I do more experimenting.

So your first Veritas is the one tasting metallic? I thought it was your new one.

The second one tastes metallic. The first one just tastes off with the new Kanthal and new 3 mm ID build. Sorry for the confusion!

Are you torching your Kanthal before wicking? You could be tasting oxidation fumes if you're not doing that.

Also, 3mm ID would require a heck of a lot of Rayon stuffed into it. If not, you would have a section of the coil where it's dry hitting without any juice on it and therefore causing metallic taste.

Seems like buying an authentic Veritas is a buyer beware if you want parts for it , a couple of people are saying that they're getting no response from the manufacturer concerning parts for it , it could become a $120 paper weight .

Which is hard to believe. iHybrid is a big ProVape supplier. Sounds like it might be the place they bought it from. I think in many cases, the manufacturer does not sell direct and you have to go through the retailer.

The coils is stuffed with plenty of rayon. It's hitting well, lots of vapor, but he flavor is off. I don't usually torch my Kanthal. The off flavor could be from switching with the one that tastes metallic. Yeah, not liking the 3 mm ID much.

And you used the wire that came with your new Veritas? I'd be suspect of that. Could be nichrome.

No, I never use the wire that comes with any atty. this is supposedly A-1 Kanthal, just 3 ft or so.

Which is why I was super careful when I took it completely apart just now to try Papaw's suggestion of alcohol bath then boiling. It's drying now. The positive post might be the problem. It looks a lot cleaner now. We'll see.

Probably because he had his pants on . :)

Thank the Lord for that.

They did go through the retailer and got no response , said the retailer was very cooperative but they got no response from iHybrid . it's just a page or so back from your question about trippers wicking .

Yeah, I read it. I'm always suspect of anecdotal accounts like that. I would need to see a pattern. I mostly ignore complaints if it is just one here or there. It would be easy for the retailer to pin it on someone else.
