I just don't enjoy him much. But I'm glad you do. Long live Phil.

I just like all the raw information he provides.

Gotta be careful not to be too mean to Phil. He might show up on this thread. That's what happened the other day when some guy reamed Todd a new one and within minutes Todd showed up on the thread and busted him. :)

I don't think I've ever seen Phil post that I can remember. Todd rarely does...he had only 172 posts in God knows how many years.

Good place to keep a finger on the pulse of what's going on though.. ;)

I just checked my mail, and noticed Fasttech sent me a second KFL+ for free by mistake. :)

It was supposed to be a split order, and they sent it twice. I honestly can't believe this. Talk about karma.

I'll let you guys know if this one works.

None whatsoever. But I also know you are not a nasty person and wouldn't want to disparage anyone whilst in their company. Right?
Gotcha... That was more of a reminder to be nice rather than a "you better hope Phil doesn't read this!".
I'm sure he's a very gracious gentleman and obviously he's providing ample information to those that are interested. I've only seen a few if his videos. Honestly, what I notice is that he's a fairly handsome man that proudly wears his wedding ring. A sort of sexy combo ;)

Phil popped in on the iStick thread when it was new and everyone was waiting for his testing/review.

They probably hated him for his review. Actually, I agreed with him. If they get rid of that PWM on that thing I can see where that would be one mean little mod...and especially for that price. Hopefully, they heed his advice.

He wasn't complaining about the PWM... he was complaining that they used vAVG instead of vRMS in their calculations of it

Nah, everyone knew it ran hot.. But yes, hopefully the second version will have upgrades- the center pin, the threads, and the voltage. Eleaf won't be able to keep the price point the same tho. And if they fix the voltage, will the battery still last as long?

I use mine every day and IG does too.

The PWM was for battery efficiency. But it shouldn't improve it by leaps and bounds. There is something else at play there. I don't think changing the voltage delivery should add much of anything cost-wise. The center pin and threads might add a little. I mean, they're right there. Fix those few issues and even if they add $10 it would make it killer. I think that's what Phil was trying to say. I think there is a high demand for small units so the iStick is very close with that price point. They have some wiggle room so if I'm them I'd do it.

To be precise, yes. I think of RMS as defeating the downsides of PWM.

To me... the big downside to PWM isn't that it's shown as vAVG or vRMS... that can be adjusted for so they have the same output. It's the pulsing the voltage to the chip's maximum voltage in order to achieve those averaged outputs. So for the iStick... the voltage goes to 5.5v and then off then 5.5v etc...

Let me use the values we saw on the Vamo because even though it was using 33hz with a 6v max instead of the iStick's 48hz pulses with the 5.5v... I at least know where/how my ADV juice worked for me...

On the Vamo v5 .... I could set my wattage to 6.5-7.0w before the juice would start tasting burnt. On my CDNA and DNA chips... I can set it to 10.5-11.5w before it starts to taste burnt... because they only output 4.7v ( 10.5w with a 2Ω coil ). The difference is that with any PWM... the voltage will be spiked to the max voltage and even it is averaged.. it still affects the way the juice vaporizes

I love my hot little Isticks:D Perfect for out and about and my settings give me no issues. I am seriously going backwards with my vape gear. I want really good juice, an atty that makes it taste good beyond that all I need is a battery to heat it up. I used to be very wrapped up in what battery/mod I was using...gone are those days.
