Not all of the issues have been related to the DNA40 board. Some of them have been QC on the mod build. Your going to be on a learning curve with the nickel wire coils. You got some reading to do.

The VS and FV have been having the most trouble. Only one XPV has had to go back that I know of.

Thanks David. I have been lurking on a few of the threads, reading and reading. I really was going to wait a little longer, but I got the email saying it was in stock and clicked and it went into my cart, I just couldn't wait :)

I'm hoping I won't have problems with the nickel. Thinking that since I haven't been working with the kanthal for too long it won't be that hard of a switch. I don't know if that makes sense but you know when you've been doing something for years one way, I think it's harder to change over to doing something new? Looks like it will be here tomorrow. Still need to order batteries and nickel. I'll have time later today to research that and purchase.

Calve, I'm glad you have one too! It's nice to have a friend to torture with ?'s!

Off to work. Have a nice Thursday.

So April I'm on pins and needles...did you get your new mod today? I need to do a little research...I don't understand why you need nickel wire instead of kanthal...will have to check it out just to learn. Bronze I assume all is going well with the P3...sure hope so.

Nickel wire is required by the DNA40 chip in order for the temperature control to work. That's as much as I've learned about it so far.

And she's going to need a drill so she can try some twisted wire builds. A twisted nickel and kanthal wire has been tried for a build and it works. The experiments continue. By the time I get one I'll know which builds tend to work the best for most.

LA is correct IA. Takes nickel wire for the temp control feature to work on the DNA 40. Nickel hardly has any resistance in it. People are building 0.16ohms coils. The P3 is going very well. Very happy with it. I'll be posting thoughts over the weekend some time. I'm still playing with it. :)

Ok I had just asked this question as my Sig 100W is suppose to be here tomorrow.
Nichrome? G-Plat? Kanthal? What is the better wire to use for VW? Sorry but I've very noobish with VW.
