There, finally. After some tinkering, and dripping another ml or two into the sink, I finally get this hcigar to act right with some Chris' Blend. For now....
I am finding that using the NET flavors in the KFL +V2, and saving the Original for fruits / sweets seems to work a little better, if that makes any sense.

It makes sense to me , the V2 should have better juice/airflow than the KFL , that and the thick VG that Clay uses . The rayon has to be pulling away from the coil at some point causing a hotspot . I'm running 100%VG Legend in an Hcigar Kayfun 3.1 wicked with rayon , 1ohm even coil at 15 watts . That's the hottest combination I've run in a 3.1 , and no problems with it . I won't attempt using Clay's 100%VG in it though , I'll leave that to the Magma and the Roses .

Makes perfect sense. The HCigar must have better juice flow to it compared to the original, allowing the thicker juices to flow better to the wick.

Edit: As Retic pointed out, there has to be a fault somewhere in the wicking system/method that allows a hot-spot to burn your wick. I've run the Magma at 30 Watts wicked with Rayon and it's not created any burnt spots on the wick.. Rayon will not burn as long as it's got juice saturating it.

Will do, I go through about 8 pads a month so it will surely last a while.

Got the toilet fixed. Mom put in one of those drop in tablets of toilet cleaner, it dissolved into a nasty paste inside the tank and then gummed up the part that fills the tank. It took me 10x longer to clean up the mess then swap parts.

8 pads a month?! How many wicks do you get out of a pad?!

The same here , I've run the Magma at .3 ohms , 59 watts without burning the rayon in it , it's gotta be a hotspot somewhere .

That was a really good old man nap, until Mamaw came home from the grocery store. Nothing comes up our driveway without the mutts letting the western hemisphere know about it....
OK, so I am also still using A-1 Kanthal from Temco Industries, as I always have. Same seven and eight wraps on the same 3/32 drill bit. About the only difference is the device - 28g for my Grand and Woodvil, 30g for the VV Grand and ProVari. That way I get around 1.5 from the 28g and 2.0 from the 30g. Same micro coil as always. When I dry burn, they still heat from the center out. I do dry burn more often than I used too, single horizontal coils in the Veritas and Kayfuns have made me stay with a coil a little longer (maybe a month). But I still am hesitant to go above 10 watts with these Kayfuns.

People go over 10 watts on their Kayfuns all the time. In fact more are over 10 watts than under.

Another Day, another burnt wick in a Kayfun, this time the KFL + V2.

Since retic says Clay's liquids are too thick, I drained with a syringe, washed and rewicked, and refilled with some Dunhill Early Morning. The thing that gets me is I can have juice flow so good that if I gently blow into the KFL a spattering of e-liquid comes out. An hour or two later the wicks start to burn. The ProVari is measuring the Ohms @ 2.2, so it's not like I am 'flashing' the coil heat.
This time I used rayon, only not quite as much. Twisting just the end (as Bridget suggested) I fed it through until it loosely filled the coil, barely. I replaced the chimney cycinder, and drenched the wicks. Let's see how this works......

But.. but... Loosely and Rayon does not go together. Rayon needs to be tight in the coil because it collapses, unlike cotton which expands to fill the coil. Once the Rayon collapses, it will move away from the coil, creating a hot spot.
