Ok, so I got a V2 provari & curious about a few things. I'm sure some with a better wattage knowledge then I can answer.

If I take a 1.5ohm & push it to 9watts, would if produce the same & be equivalent to a 3ohm pushing 9watts? Meaning could you be able to tell a difference, or is there any difference? I've used several different ohm cartos, but for some reason prefer 3.0ohms at higher volts vs lr as mid volts. Then again I've mixed in duel coils which muddle things even more.

Also, I've also been in a self debate whether it would be better on the device & battery to push a lr at higher volts or a sr or hr, at even higher volts. Ideally keeping things around 9 watts.

Thanks!

To get 9 watts using a 1.5 ohm load would be roughly 3.7 volts. 9 watts with 3 ohm load would be roughly 5.2 volts.

Same heat but the coil is different, a higher ohm coil is usually longer (more wraps) so you're getting that heat over more area. Think of a stove adjusted to the same temp using the small burner and the large burner.

In my experience they are different, LR is a great way to simulate it if you don't have a higher voltage device but I prefer higher voltage with higher ohms. In theory the coil should last longer also and pull less current from the battery increasing battery life.

If you won't mind, I'm tucking that one away for future discussions like this. I have another from AttyPops using different sized motors in cars on the freeway that works pretty well too, but yours is a more fitting way to explain it.

Thanks dekalbave. For some reason it wouldn't let me view the like-vape thread. Said I didn't have permission.

Anyway, I understand the calculations. Just really didn't understand why a lr carto or atty doesn't seem to hit as well to me as a sr pushing the same amount of watt's. I was just thinking, all things being equal, that 9 watts on a lr would seem exactly the same as 9 watts on a sr. But the sr at said watts just seems better to me.

I think the analogy of the burner size explains a lot.
