Hello to one and all!

I am looking for inspiration and guidance. I tried ecigs a while back and all the time they worked they were ok.

The general consensus I hear from vapers is that I must have been using a bad ecig or I would have been able to pry myself off of the analogues quite easily... This could just be conjecture, I don't know!

I tried the 510 and the 900 before but was never able to drop the analogues completely. I have dabbled with flavoured juices etc but they never seemed to have more than an after taste rather than a full on mouth full of mint which is what I've been told I should expect.

Now the guidance part...

I currently smoke about 20 normal cigs per day, can someone reccomend a decent (but fairly cheapish if possible) ecig that I can start on to get off of these evil things?

Any help or suggestions gratefully recieved, thanks in advance!!

Hi there vegeeta,

I recently (last week) quit smoking and switched to an E-Cig, this is the kit I bought https://eciggies.co.za/eCiggies_Bestie_Kit

It consists of:

JOYETECH Ego-C Upgrade 650Mah Battery (Lasts me a full day without having to recharge)
Kanger MT3 eGo B/C Clearomizer (I would suggest going for the Vivi Nova Clearomizer instead, this one's okay - But I am replacing it.)
I use Liqua 18mg/ml Cherry ejuice. (See how this works for you, if not strong enough go for a 24mg/ml or 36mg/ml Juice)

I was a pack a day smoker as well, gave up hassle free on the kit mentioned (the parts not in brackets :) ), been a week since my last cigarette. I've tried quiting cold-turkey, but by day 4 I was punching walls - literally. LOL

The eGo's are a good starter kit in my opinion and I LOVE mine. Good luck, you CAN quit. And a decent E-ciggie will help A LOT.

The following beginners setup has very common components that most online vendors or vape shops will carry. I'd recommend two batteries, one to use while the primary one is being charged (and always have a backup battery on hand!). I also recommend at least two juice delivery devices to try out; all are different in the way that they are made and function and the vapor they produce, and by trying two types you can decide which will best fit your style of vaping.

I made a picture dictionary of the more common juice delivery devices that go on your batteries: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3230-1-proper-terminology-carto-tank-what-primer-juice-delivery-attachments.html

Finding a good juice will be as important as finding the right mechanical gear. Unfortunately it can be the most difficult to find, as taste and preference in flavors is extremely subjective. My recommendation is to order sampler packs from juice vendors to avoid wasting money on larger bottles of juice that you may not care for at all. Once you find some winners, order more in larger quantities. You can test juices flavors in either a dripping atomizer or a Nano clearmizer, as was described in the above picture dictionary.

Most vapors consume 3 - 6 ml of e-juice daily. A 1 ppd smoker generally needs 24mg nicotine strength e-liquid. I recommend starting out with a typical 50/50 pg/vg blended ratio. I wouldn't waste my time with trying to find a tobacco flavor that will taste like a cigarette - IT ISN'T MADE!! Save yourself time and money and attempt to find ANY FLAVOR or two that you don't mind using all day.

Just a small ammendment, I am in the UK so if there are any Brits than can make a suggestion for a UK based supplier I would much appreciate it.

Libert Flights Supply the kits. Not the cheapest but excellent customer service and fast despatch. They also have a UK forum with good advisers.
(sorry don't know how to do a link)

I don't know if it will work for you, but I have been recommending the eRoll for anyone having trouble letting go of analogs. It is so small and light that it does a better job of replicating a cigarette for me.

As far as flavors go, they do get stronger as your taste buds come back from smoking. You can also find vendors who do flavor shots to increase the overall flavor that you're getting.

Good luck!

Hi vegeeta and welcome back
Here's a great kit:
The VE Riva 1100 Deluxe Kit £34.95 - Deluxe Vaping Kits - Riva 1100 Kit Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid
Discount code allabout - giving 10% off entire order.
The Riva fires @ 3.7 volts and what I like about the package is it has both cartomizers and a clearomizer included. The owner Jason asked vapers what they wanted in a starter kit and this is want they told him. Highly reputable vendor. The Riva is also known as the Kgo. I own and like it. A review by highly regarded PBusardo:

Here's a list of reputable UK Vendors with discount codes:

I first tried a few years ago with an M-Series model, it was about the size of an analog. It was okay but there was no way I was quitting with that thing. I tried again with the GoGo in January and was off analogs within a week. You can start off pretty cheap, at discountvapers you could get a battery for $13, a tank for $5 or pack of cartomizers for $9, and a charger for around $6. HOWEVER, they've been out of stock on chargers, carts, and cheap batteries (they have the variable voltage for 25). So as much as I'd like to recommend that set up, I can't. Still a good vendor if you're looking to keep the price low.

There is definitely a huge difference between the small analog sized ecigs and larger models like the GoGo. My brother and I were both able to quit without any real effort. I wasn't even planning on quitting, I wanted to smoke MORE. I was also a pack-a-day smoker and was hoping to vape in between cigs (yeah...terrible). So I smoked the first couple days along with vaping, but ended up preferring the taste of the GoGo and switched without realizing. I told my brother to do the same thing, smoke alongside vaping and he quit almost immediately. I think it helps if you let yourself ease into it, hell I still keep a pack of smokes around just in case. I've had two in the last 4+ months and wasn't able to finish the cigarette each time.

Also, you mentioned mint juice...if that's something you're looking for Vermillion River's Fresh Mint is THE BOMB. I add a little menthol and koolada and it's my all day vape. And they have a free sample deal (just pay shipping).

Good luck!

This is great advice. Finding the right liquid is certainly a big part of it, and don't be afraid of 24mg juice. I'm over a year now from my last analog, and there's no going back.

For me, the Kanger Evod/T3/E-go twist battery combination has been hassle-free, VERY satisfying and a nice carry-around package, and not hard on the wallet. The whole key is definitely the juice though. Might take some trial and error to find exactly what you're looking for.

Best of luck quitting the coffin-nails!!
