What was your analog usage prior to vaping?

Has anybody started vaping without being addicted to analogs first?

I sure hope not I would strongly advise against it... I had an ex-smoker try to buy from me and I politely refused to sell them a kit being she had been 2 years without a regular cigarette.

Basically talked her out of it. :p

I was just curious if you understood that smoking addiction is usually a life long addiction. I know people that had quit for 10 years and smoked one cigarette at a party and ended up a two pack a day smoker again in a matter of days.

Obviously I do not know the exact circumstances of the situation but I do not see why someone would talk a consenting adult out of E-smoking unless they believed there are inherent dangers involved.

Is that what you think? I certainly hope you are not buying into the FDA's lies and posturing in their attempt to grab a piece of the money.

I can not find any evidence to suggest any adverse health risk aside from slight discomfort, even on a long term basis.

Its been a week since I bought my 801. I haven't smoked since. I did recieve some JC and a USB passthrough today in the mail. I am starting to think the 24mg juice is to strong. That really surprises me, being a 2 pack a day smoker. I have totally given up on the cart and only drip now. A good TH is important to me. I drop three drops of juice and vape that until its empty. I figure that's about the same as one cigarette. Not really sure if I am getting more nicotine or less. But so far so good. I really enjoy the ecig. At first I thought it was a huge hassle but I figured out how to use it and its working so far. Thanks to this forum and all the very helpfull people on it.

Smoked 1 - 2 pks aday. Been vaping for a few weeks now and can't seem to drop the annis altogether. Still smoke 5-10 aday. Usually when the ecig isn't putting out quite right or in need of a new cart I'll grab an anni in the interval. My wife smokes too, so there's always anni available. Got her a 901 kit so hopefully we can help each other quit the nasty anni habit.

Actually, I quit smoking in Nov '08. But I took up vapeing because I had gained 20 lbs since then. My thinking is that I will quit eating if I have this substitute. A week now and I haven't gone out and bought any real cigs, lost 3lbs.

That's interesting.

Although, I never quit before transitioning to vaping. I myself have had a dramatic decrease of appetite. My stomach has this sense of fulfillment all the time.

Although, I keep myself in shape with a weight lifting regimen.
Even after working out, I don't have this voracious appetite to replenish fuel. I'm having to force myself to swallow my protein shakes and meals most of the time so that I don't lose any muscle mass.

I haven't weighed myself, but it feels like I'm dropping weight...which is something I don't want right now.

I smoked 2.5 to 3 pks/day for 37 years. I loved smoking, however, could not take giving any more in taxes, so with the last increase in cigarette tax decided to try the E-cigs to cut down. By happy coincidence I found that my analog addiciton was more psycological, oral, rather than nicotine. I have not smoked an analog since the first day (March 23) and have used 0 nic liquid since the first week. But I love the taste, feel etc of vaping and if it were to be banned I probably would be back on the analogs.;)

Hi I smoked over 3 paks a day for over 35 yrs! , REALLY I know it is hard to believe anybody has that much time in a day to smoke that much. There were days I could smoke up to 4 paks, If I was driving long distance on business, or if I couldn't sleep, which I would normally get 3 to 4 hrs a night. That was it, Those are all part of the 'crazy' demons within me

But that is not what this post is about
I developed COPD, 4 yrs back and was quickly killing myself, if I had not done something. I am a recovering addict for the past 26yrs, so I kinda understand addiction
I stopped cold, Dec 10,08, picked up an Ecig at a mall and I knew I had an out

One post prior, commented on the oral addiction, the action of smoking, which, I just love. Strange, cos I really do not know why!
I love to eat, shop, drive fast, gamble, actually, when I enjoy something, good or bad, I have a way of going a little overboard.
Even with vaping, I have to own everything, especially if I read it is the best, the greatest, whatever. Gotta have it !!!

My shrink ( you certainly cannot be surprised I see a shrink)
is SO PLEASED ABOUT VAPING for me and vaping in general,

The reason for his excitment for vaping

Is that it is a "HARM REDUCTION" PROCESS
It may not be the best thing in the world, however, it is still much better than analogs
No different than Methadone for a Herion addict, it aint great but it is so much better than herion
Simple really.

So as long as it isnt causing me the harm that analogs has, then :have at it" I am thrilled for all of us, that have been able to do less harm.
