Liquid Turning Black

Hi Everyone!

My friend recently bought a vivi nova and an eGo battery. It is his first vaporizer. He bout some juice named Coolport via FlavorZ by Joe from a local store recently. He filled his tank halfway and the next day when he woke up the liquid was black and had a "funny" taste. Anyone know what is causing this to happen? The tank was brand new. He also doesn't even vape that much.

Did he clean the tank first?
A lot of new hardware may have some kind of residue that may react with the juice.
Also its possible his battery may be defective and stuck on burning the juice, which can feed back through the wicks and taint the entire tank.
One more thing to check is clean the tank out and make sure the chrome plating is not chipped or cracked anywhere that is in contact with the juice, the brass underneath can taint the juice, and sometimes even new devices can be defective.

Did it hapen overnight?

The other thing is juice reacts with sunlight and heat. So if his house (or where ever he left his tank) was hot it could have spoiled the juice in the tank. Could have just been crappy juice as well .

Thanks for the quick responses. To answer a few replies, he keeps his apartment pretty cool with the AC. He says it turned black overnight, and I am sure he did not clean it out first (not 100%).

then I'm going with crappy juice or crappy atty. Clean every thing you vape with. weather it be torching wick and wire or washing with sope and water. you wont to vape juice not machine oil and factory dust.

Dry burn your coils when switching over flavours gunk can build up on the coil and taint your next tank pretty easily

imho. It seems to be always a cause of vaping too high voltage. Or if its clogged and tight and you have to take super long hits.

It's a mix of burning the juice and older juice.

I use vivi novas and clean my tanks daily. If you use a darker tobacco type juice that is slightly sweet the coils gunk up easily and in turn will darken the juice.

Probably too high a voltage or wattage setting. Uh, and the Coolport doesn't taste very good to start with. It was the first liquid I tried, and I still have the almost full bottle. (And it does not improve with age -- I'm about to throw it out.)
