I'm a heavy vaper, and my cartomizers/coils need to be replaced on a daily or semi-daily basis. Despite my heavy use, I'm starting to get the impression, from reading some occasional comments, that liquid has a lot to do with how long atomizer coils last before they start producing a burnt taste.

I'm curious if anyone's used liquids that they've particularly noticed keep their coils tasting relatively new for long periods (more than a few days -- perhaps a week or two) despite heavy use. Obviously good tasting liquid is a plus, but not my focus here :)

I'm not sure if this helps but I've read some comments on Nicoticket's website stating that Custard's Last Stand is virtually impossible to burn.

I don't have any experience with Nicoticket just yet (expecting delivery tomorrow) but you might consider checking out the comments on CLS on the website.

Hope that helps.

I am pretty new around here. I have noticed that the thicker the juice the worse it sticks to coils and the worse the burning taste. The worst one for me is Halo cafe Mocha... I assume its 100% VG... in my cheapo vivi nova acrylic tanks it turns dark and tastes like burnt coffee before I drain the tank. But thinner PG based ( or I am assuming ) seem to work just fine.

...if your a really heavy vapor might consider looking into rebuildables much cheaper in the long run. :)

I was looking into that until I saw a note on a retailer site that rebuildables are only for people who know how to use a multimeter. I think you also need to watch Doctor Who and speak fluent Klingon :) If "rebuildable" means you actually coil the wire yourself and test until the resistance is correct I think it's not something I want to dive into.

I will probably be giving Nicoticket's Custard's Last Stand a try though, thanks SnowDog :)

Well I do like doctor who...I certainly dont speak klingon, but do have an elvish tattoo though....

For less then 20 bucks you can get a atty checker...like this one Atomizer Ohm Meter (available from other places too)

It really isnt that hard with the basic ones. ;) Up to you of course was just a suggestion :)

Just find the flavors you like from a vendor that makes them in a more clear version. Super dark liquid just destroys coils at a rate of nothing flat.

For example - I had a delicious coffee I liked - it was 50/50 PG/VG - But it was DARK freshly mixed in the bottle. It was still fairly thin and a robust coffee - not a sweet coffee, but it just ruined coils. I have since found a few very lightly tinted (maybe the darkest one that I use now is close to the golden color of apple juice) coffee flavors, that are still equally as robust in flavor. Now my coils last 4-8 weeks with an occasional dry burn as opposed to 24-48 hours

I have the same problem you do. Here are some juices I use consistently that don't clog things up and I can get a good coil life with them.

1) Thug Juice from MtBaker vapor. I order mine at 80%PG 20%VG (I like PG for throat hit, and it doesn't gunk up your atty as fast as VG)
2) Black Licorice from MtBaker vapor, same ratios as above. I also mix their Wild Cherry and Extreme Ice with it. This mix blows my mind. All three of these liquids are clear and can take some heat and don't seem to clog my atty.
3) Serendipity from IVape.net. Has more VG, but for some reason, it works and my atty lasts a while with it.
4)Ecto Cooler from MTBaker. Also 80PG20VG.

It is my opinion that many people vape their juices too hot - try dialing back the voltage/wattage.

I don't have a variable power device (not currently anyway), but I am using 1.8ohm coils (in a clearomizer). Would switching to 2.5ohms alleviate the burning sensatio- I mean, hold off the burnt liquid taste significantly longer?

...as someone suggested, you may want to try looking into something like the Protank 2. Easy to remove the silica wick, clean, dry burn, replace with very affordable cotton. Gets rid of that taste and the cotton makes juices taste much better.

Are you saying with a Protank 2 I can replace the wick without replacing the coil? That sounds really good to me, since I usually replace my coils just because the wicks are gunked up with black stuff. But I kinda figured it would depend on the coil assembly I use, rather than the tank. I think Protank and Evod use the same coils -- does that mean I can do this with an Evod too? What about a T3S?

All confused and excited here. Let me see if I can find an adequate smiley. Ok here got it: :p

I'd give it a try. 2.5ohm at 3.7 Volts is about 5.5 Watts. For my variable devices, I generally aim for 6W. By contrast, with your 1.8ohm coils, you are running at 7.6W.
