I have been away from ECF for about 18 months...and am way behind the times. Kat sent me here, though, in the hopes maybe someone here can help me. I am an old lady who is set in her ways. I vape very low watts...about 5.5. I like my ohms to be 2ohm or no more than 2.5...and definitely not under 2ohm! I've been using 3.3 volts and I use a passthrough (eGo), due to being crippled and i have limited mobility and don't want to be jumping up and charging batteries, and changing them out. But...I'm having trouble finding good cartomizers (for my carto tanks) that don't go south in 24 hours. My budget is fixed and very limited. So Kat suggested I try a tank system...but most of them run 1.5ohm or 1.8ohm...which is too hot for me. I may be stuck with that, though...so that would force me to get a variable voltage device that I can tune in so I get 5.5 watts. I have VV/W mods...but none are passthrough. I like box mods and was thinking about the iStick or MVP (if it's passthrough, I forget). Can someone please point me to a box type mod that is VV-VW and can go down to 3v and not run hot (I hate hot!!!!) and has passthrough capabilities. Also...and here's where it gets sticky...I really need something under $50. If possible? Please help me! Kat says you guys are the best!

The MVP 3.0 mods will be over $50 (and dont regulate below 3V). The iStick 30W or Heatvape Defender (ask Kat about this) would probably be your best bets. The Defender would probably be my choice for you. It seems to work better in the <3.0V range, which you will need to achieve 5.5W on a 1.5Ω coil (perhaps an Eleaf GS Air or M/MS?). The Defender has 2600mAh of battery life. You probably won't need "pass-through" at all. Just charge it once a day and you'll be golden. Good luck! We're here if you need us...

ETA: The MVP 2, while appearing to be a great choice for a larger device, will not regulate below 3.3V... :(

Also, Kanger just released a new clearo. It's basically a T3S with airflow control. It accepts Kanger's new organic cotton coil heads that are supposed to be really good (and sold up to 1.8Ω). Haven't tried either personally. But I'm hearing good things about them.

MVP 2.0 are still on the market, and usually clearance price. The SVD 2 is a DNA 30 chip and on clearance @ Origin Vape for $44

Many older tanks like the T2 and others are now being liquidated from many vendors and most use higher resistance coils.

For just over $50, the new Evic. It has passthru and true step down, but it s bit heavy albeit small.

Thanks! Some good ideas! What do you all think of this one? (I apologise for not going through the list one by one..I know I ought to, and I will look over everything, but I was hoping for suggestions from people who have actually used a given mod with the 'qualifications" Kat and I mentioned. I was looking at this one...any thoughts? Eigate Aspire ESP 30W Box Mod

So great to see you Fourthrok. :)

I prefer very low watts, too --- and like the regulated mods for the consistency of vape. I agree with the suggestions above and will confirm that the 30 watt iStick or Defender are not only adorable, but the battery actually does last longer than replaceable battery mods using similar mAh batteries. It is one reason they have been so very popular. The Innokin Coolfire IV has to be a contender as well -- Innokin simply has a great reputation and IMHO the shape is so much more appealing than the original very well respected MVP's.

You may find that with these mods you won't have to be tethered.

I've come to adore my Aspire BVC coils, Nautilus or just BVC, (with various containers for them) and the Mtank & it's coils. I used my carto tanks and my vmods for years -- but switched once I found the Aspire's.

I've indulged in a few itty bitty's -- my passion for pocktable mods, as you may recall, still lives!

Vape on my friend.

PS -- That Aspire one looks great, but I have no experience with it. It sounds and looks like it has a similar hand feel to the Defender, and that's a BIG plus, in my book. Petty, I know, but I dislike the big logo on it. :)

GREAT suggestions! I knew I could count on your guys!!!

fourth, even tho all of this seems quite overwhelming, I know with the help from the people in this particular thread, we'll find something perfect for you.

On the ones you guys mentioned.... (Defender, MVP, etc.) are you sure it's SAFE passthru?

Also, fourth, as stated (so wisely), with the newer mods, you'll have SO much more battery life that you may just be able to skip the passthru altogether. But if you must have it, I sure want it to be safe!!

Oh alden, sniff sniff..... the spreadsheet went thru quite a few changes, and of course, it's not up to date with the newer stuff that hit the scene since we had lunch yesterday. ;) (You're aware that China produces at least 4 mods between meals, right? ;)) Also, the "Passthru" column was removed. From the original, the ones we marked as HAVING passthru were:

~Eleaf iStick 20W
Cloupor Mini 30W
Innokin MVP 3.0 30W
Innokin MVP 3.0 30W
IPV Mini V2 (70W)
Smok Xpro M65 (65W)
Smok Xpro M65 Plus
U20 Mod (Sener)
VaporShark DNA30

While the ESP 30W looks ideal, I can't find it's voltage range listed anywhere. So I don't know at what resistances it will actually fire at 5W. As tearose50 mentioned, the Coolfire 4 is also a great choice. It's a bit bigger than the iStick and defender and only regulates down to 3V. That would be 6W with a 1.5Ω coil head. If you can find an atomizer you're happy with that has 1.8Ω heads, practically all the mods discussed would be wonderful.

ETA: Sticking with a "brand name" device, such as Innokin or Aspire would probably proved a device of higher quality. How much higher, I do not know.

I know that the MVP3 is being advertised as a safe passthrough. I thought that the MVP 2 was that way as well. The istick 20 will run too hot for 5.5 watts, I'm not sure about the "new" istick mini 20W. The istick mini original might be okay, and can be used as a passthrough, but the battery life is MUCH shorter than the other mods mentioned.

The nauty mini would work, but the Anyvape Davide (which is made to use both the bvc coils or the aerotank coils) would be good too. Also pretty easy on the pocket book. As much as I like the GS Airs of any variety, I think that they need a bit more than 5.5 watts to really work well.

I appreciate the input. I don't too much if I don't have a really long battery life. I've been using eGo 1100s quite a bit and have a lot of them. They don't last all that long, but of course, longer is better. Since I can't walk well I'm pretty much always seated near a USB port where I can plug in and vape: next to me in the TV room, in the dining room to eat, and next to my bed. Of course, next time they put me in the hospital, I'd be wanting a longer battery life, I suppose!! lol!

Any others you can think of in addition to the Vivi Nova, the Cerotank, and the Grip?

(aha..... forgot the Davides)

The Nauti coils might be too warm for fourth. Dunno. I still say that it's quite a different vape than a carto tank, so.... we'll find out! Right fourth? :D

MBV has an mvp2 and iclear 30 setup on sale for $34.99. I've never used the iclear, but for the price it might be worth trying?

The k1 from aspire also takes the bvc coils like the Cerotank and the Davide. It is closer in size to a cartomizer so might be more comfortable.

The original Peakomizer uses Aspire's BVCs but I would recommend it... Anyvape's CeroTank Mini with the Aspire BVCs looks like a winner to me...

And the list, she doth grow, pokes! You're wonderful.

Aspire Vivi Nova
Anyvape Cerotank
Joye eGrip
Davides (by Kanger?)
Aspire K1

The Davide is an "old" anyvape tank (pre-Cero that looks like a protank instead of an aerotank)
