I have been away from ECF for about 18 months...and am way behind the times. Kat sent me here, though, in the hopes maybe someone here can help me. I am an old lady who is set in her ways. I vape very low watts...about 5.5. I like my ohms to be 2ohm or no more than 2.5...and definitely not under 2ohm! I've been using 3.3 volts and I use a passthrough (eGo), due to being crippled and i have limited mobility and don't want to be jumping up and charging batteries, and changing them out. But...I'm having trouble finding good cartomizers (for my carto tanks) that don't go south in 24 hours. My budget is fixed and very limited. So Kat suggested I try a tank system...but most of them run 1.5ohm or 1.8ohm...which is too hot for me. I may be stuck with that, though...so that would force me to get a variable voltage device that I can tune in so I get 5.5 watts. I have VV/W mods...but none are passthrough. I like box mods and was thinking about the iStick or MVP (if it's passthrough, I forget). Can someone please point me to a box type mod that is VV-VW and can go down to 3v and not run hot (I hate hot!!!!) and has passthrough capabilities. Also...and here's where it gets sticky...I really need something under $50. If possible? Please help me! Kat says you guys are the best!
The MVP 3.0 mods will be over $50 (and dont regulate below 3V). The iStick 30W or Heatvape Defender (ask Kat about this) would probably be your best bets. The Defender would probably be my choice for you. It seems to work better in the <3.0V range, which you will need to achieve 5.5W on a 1.5Ω coil (perhaps an Eleaf GS Air or M/MS?). The Defender has 2600mAh of battery life. You probably won't need "pass-through" at all. Just charge it once a day and you'll be golden. Good luck! We're here if you need us...
ETA: The MVP 2, while appearing to be a great choice for a larger device, will not regulate below 3.3V...
Also, Kanger just released a new clearo. It's basically a T3S with airflow control. It accepts Kanger's new organic cotton coil heads that are supposed to be really good (and sold up to 1.8Ω). Haven't tried either personally. But I'm hearing good things about them.
