I'd be hard pressed to find anything much MORE confusing! Which is why it's discouraging.

One of the reasons I was wanting a passthrough is that I can charge it in places I normally sit. To charge something that isn't passthrough means I have to go into another room and hope hubby isn't charging his stuff at the time. Or set up a charging area somewhere else. With the passthrough, I can charge off my internet radio/clock device (Dash) and I have them positioned in areas I normally am. If I'm not out shopping or in the hospital. Everyone says that the Defender and others last a long time. I've heard that claim a lot...but I'm often a chain vaper, heavy double hitter into the lungs and I vape nearly constantly from the time I get up around 8am until I go to bed and finish reading around midnight to 1:00am. Okay...so I do take a 30 minute nap in the afternoon. The only times I slow down the vaping a bit is if I'm really into a craft or crochet project. And even then I vape a lot!!! Being old isn't easy. I'm pre-diabetic, had to give up smoking and drinking, have heart problems etc. Vaping is my one little vice I cling to! hahahaha!!!!
Don't be discouraged. We're just throwing out lots of options, we can help you get where you want to go. The defender and istick 30w have a lot of "mah" which at the wattages you are looking at vaping basically can translate to per hour. So the istick 30w with 2400 mah (it might have 2600 I don't remember) would work for about 24 hours. You need to decide whether you want a light "little" boxy mod (istick, defender) or a box (mvp) or a thin battery like the egos that you have been using (vvs). All offer passthrough, but most you shouldn't need it except in a pinch.

those are nice, but it's going to limit me with my tanks...same problem I have with my current eGos. I am a girl, after all. And I think it' looks stupid for a big honking tank to be perched on a skinny little PV! JMHO, of course.
Once you decide on device, then you can decide on tanks. Most of the tanks come with "mini" versions that look perfect on the end of a vv. The coils that go up to 2.5 ohms will fit in both a wide tank or the long skinny tanks. Here is what a vv looks like with a t3s on it.

Not bad looking. IMHO

Understand that the "mods" we are recommending, except for the new Heatvape Defender (thank you, Kent), allow for "pass-through" vaping. They will also charge from the same power sources that you now pass-through with. I also think you will be surprised how long the batteries last compared to the eGo-style devices.

Aspire Vivi Nova
Anyvape Cerotank
Joye eGrip
Anyvape Davides
Aspire K1

It seems to me that the Aspire ESP 30W with Aspire's K1 atomizer or Anyvape's CeroTank Mini, both with Aspire's 1.8Ω BVCs, would be a good vape for @fourthrok . Where do you find the 2.1Ω BVCs? Aspire doesn't have them listed...

Aspire BVC Replacement Coils 5 Pack - 2.1ohm And I know I've purchased them elsewhere.

FT has them, as does World of Vape. S-V does too, but I think they're just OOS right now.

Aspire's BVCs don't produce much of anything for me at 5W. (I have the 1.6Ω BVCs.) BVCs tend to like a bit more power just to get started. 8W on the BVC gives me the vape of a standard coil at 5W. fourth may just find herself vaping above 6W with the BVCs. But the ESP setup with the BVCs would give her all the options...

This was something we started to discuss, too. I truly believe the vape is not comparable on a coiled tank to a carto tank. Fortunately or "un", I think you're going to have to do the same discovery we all have done..... trying out a few here and there to see what you like.

Perhaps alden's idea is a good place to start that road of discovery.

Could this be much more confusing for people?

Hellsbells deary, , , even *I'M* confused (all over again)!! I haven't vaped 1/2 of the suggested toppers, or all the devices for that matter. I'm not sure any of us has.

Youwho, oh Keee-eeent. Have I mentioned how much I love my PocketMod Defender? :D

I had no idea it was not passthru capable. I never tried or thought to. I do NOT like the idea of passthru with these types of mods. What is the reason that is now disabled in the new ones?

For some reason, I thought you had a CeroTank... They sell multiple different sizes/capacities.

SV has the Aspire K1 for $9.95 and the BVCs (1.6 & 1.8Ω) @ 5 for $6.95 (ceramic wick) or $7.95 (cotton wick). They also have Aspire's ESP 30W for $35.95. There may be cheaper prices somewhere else... We're not worried about the high end here. I think that the ESP with a 1.8Ω BVC will get down to 5W. A simple email to Sweet-Vapes should confirm that...

An ESP, K1 and a pack of coils would go for just a bit over $50 total...

Aspire K1 BVC Glassomizer - Aspire Clearomizers - Aspire - Clearomizers Tanks
Aspire BVC Coils Ceramic - Aspire Coils - Aspire - Clearomizers Tanks
Aspire BVC Coils Organic Cotton - Aspire Coils - Aspire - Clearomizers Tanks
Aspire ESP 30 Watt - Aspire, Kanger - Electronic Mods

I'd buy a pack of the VOCC 2.5 ohm kanger T3s coils while at Sweet-Vapes, and pick up either a protank mini or the T3s w/air flow controller at Discount Vapers (or anywhere else that has them) so there can be a coil v. bvc comparison. All of that will still be under $50, I think.

Youwho, oh Keee-eeent. Have I mentioned how much I love my PocketMod Defender? :D

I also never tried it until the last pages on this thread lol... first one does, second one doesn't. No reason given. I'm guessing the Cloupor mini meltdown is what started the idea of 'best practice" = don't use it as a passthrough esp. with changeable batts - just a guess though, and some Cloupor fans will point out that the only problem was with one batch and is now fixed :- )

My rDNA-40 had a wii wireless charger - VS stopped selling it - it got hot to the touch. Different of course, but when you have a replaceable batt - put it on a nitecore!

IF passthrough is absolutely necessary - I'd get the istick 30W (with a GS Air M tank and a pack of coils) at sweet vapes. Others have the 30W cheaper, but not the GS Air. If not absolutely necessary, of course I'd go for the Defender again with the GS Air M - both no issues and virtually no maintenance - no leaks, fairly easy to fill, easy change of coil, coils rather inexpensive, etc. etc. :- ) If OCC is necessary, then a aerotank emow mega (19mm) sits nice on both the istick and the Defender.

Sweetvapes
Bare batt 30W - 33.95
GS Air M - 9.95
GS air coils - 5pk - 9.50

I don't think she mentioned what size tank she'd like.

Those are all good choices. I'd also throw in Evod glassimizer mainly because they work, with no fussing, colorful which is nice for tootie puffers who like to switch between a variety of juices during the day ("diet" doesn't mean giving up the flavor of bavarian cream donuts anymore), cheap (<$5), 510 drip tip (can't forget the bling), and take easy to find dual Kanger coils in a wide range of resistances - which will also fit in larger tanks like protank2 (with afc added) or aerotanks, davides, and a number of others. No worries if juice is a tank cracker either. PT3 mini is comparable and they both work with the mini AFC. Activa Sports Glove- Free Shipping +$100 | Blazewear USA (lol. The link is to Vape Super Savers).

PVS & Mods | Innokin iTaste MVP 20W | VaporBeast yeahbaby should add another 10% off. They also have a limited supply of wraps on clearence for $1. The MVP's usually last a year or more. I'm not convienced the 30w isticks will last more than 3 months. Another issue with some people is that the mini box mods can be hard to hold, "too small". And everything for less than $50, including 4 attys (for different juices). Enough leftover for a blingy tip or more juice.

Another source for the 30w istick and GS air's is Rocky Mountain Vapes with code SUMMER15 for 25% off. Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

Wow Fourth -- you've gotten a massive and wonderful amount of data here since I last checked in. :)

One change/innovation that has made a difference in creating a "cooler" vape is not just the power, but the amount of air flow. I easily remember that a 2.2 atty on a "mech" (no regulation device) was too hot for me.....for the first hour or so, until the battery voltage was reduced by use. I could only run very popular 1.7 ohm carto's at lowest Provi settings. Being able to have an increased air flow means that one can handle higher power. For me, that means I can handle 6 to 7 watts with most the tanks we've been talking about. A bit more airflow gives volume to the vape too -- and I think you'll enjoy that.

(PS -- I run tanks all the time at lower watts than "everyone" says they run best at, with no problems at all. I haven't ventured into the "subtank" arena -- but all others ---- the high max is the only one that appears significant from my experiences, not the low. )

Kat -- how could you forget about the CE5? When Aspire came out with the BDC they also came out with several versions that looked like other popular tanks, but took their new coils. I believe the Davide "mod" to use them came out next. Then Aspire came out with the Nauti --- several months later came out with the Mini Nauti and the marvelous BVC coils. I'm not if the K1 came out before or after the Nauti Mini. All toppers that use BDC, can use BVC, and vice versa.

A bunch of them are still available, too. Many have ego threading.

Releasing mods at a pace of approximately 4 per meal break... ;-)

Pioneer4You iPV D2 Mod Coming Soon | Guide To Vaping

The predicted price range lands it squarely into the qualification parameters for this thread too (about 70 buckaroos). And had I done a spec of research, I'd have been able to confirm that it will be replaceable batteries.

Lazy (XXX) that I am. [emoji23]

Dammu, Longo. I like this one.

That is very dangerous looking indeed.

Small, under $50 and... unique.

Welpie, DAMMU, too, jefs! I am VERY interested in following this one. I love the innovative fire side/button/thingie. Wonder how long before hot pink, purple, green, red, and gold appear?

Hey Kat...since you brought it up...which do you like best...(and would buy another one if one of the mods in your "rotation" would abruptly die)...your PocketMod Defender or your 30W-iStick???

PocketMod Defender Variable Voltage / Variable Wattage Electronic Cigarette Mod from AquaVaporCig - The Defender Mod has a 2600mAh battery

gerry, I like them both, but right now, the Pocket Rocket is new and exciting. The hand feel is close to what I love about my all time favorite mod (the EPM). So it's going to edge out the 'Stick 30 at this point. Let's give it a bit of time and revisit the question in a month or so, ok?

But having said all that, I HAVE had inspirations to buy yet another Defender. I mean, c'mon...... SOMEONE has to keep up with Kent! :p

alden, I DO have a CeroTank. (two, in fact) I have the V2, which is the medium size. I got it as a gift from my most marvelous friend, (thank you, Mr. Longo) and it was SO good, that we both got a second one. I'm glad to see them available still. They seemed to be marketed to the European vapers rather than to us. It's a GREAT tank. If anyone is interested, they're on eBay and the vendor is top notch/top notch/top notch. Yes, I like 'em a lot. (just search for Cerotank!)

hey also have a limited supply of wraps on clearence for $1.

No kan find. Haz sad.
