Excuse me for not having read all the thread - it's far too long. Besides, it was started 8 months ago which in the e-cig world is like last century.

I have a gift certificate on Fasttech and they have a 5% discount code available till the end of August. I am looking to buy a mod that is regulated but has interchangeable batteries. I already own a small ego, 1 iTatste vw stick (the square one), 1 iTaste mvp 2, 1 iStick 20w, 1 iStick 50w and have the iStick 40w TC on the way. I also have several tube mech mods. Now some details of personal circumstances. I have arthritic hands. Anything that is big and heavy hurts if used over long periods. Same goes for bottom firing mech mods even if they are lightweight. I don't like squarish box mods that are totally angular (e.g the mvp2) I was thinking of getting one other regulated mod which however takes interchangeable batteries on the assumption that fixed batteries have a limited lifespan however long that might be. That said, I also notice that the life of a mod may actually be limited by its quality, or rather the quality of its 510 threading - if that gives the mod would be useless anyway. My budget does not exceed $50.

I know it's a tall order but could you suggest something that is good quality and might fit my needs? Thanks.

Hey Papillion61 - it might be a bit premature, but it sounds like the IPV D2 might be a decent fit for you.

Go back just a page or three and you'll find a reference to it, by KentC (if my memory serves...). At last check some places had it for around $43, but I'm not sure if that's help up.

And if not, I'm sure many recommendations will soon follow.

Just be aware that the paint job on them seems to suck, just like previous P4Y IPV mods. The paint peels, scratches, and flakes off. A wrap or the (sometimes included, sometimes not included) silicon sleeve is gonna be a necessity.

Look at the wesmec pressa. It doesn't have a replaceable battery but the button is really great for your hands. i have 2 of them and really love em. I also love the cloupor mini and have 3 of those...........

I won a Wismec Presa from Heaven Gifts and it was delivered (super fast via DHL) two days ago. I really liked it for the hours that I had it, but I've lost it now to my wifey, who's hands need it more that mine. She first complained about the weight compared to her iSticks (she'll always find something to complain about). But, really, it's not that much heavier than an iStick. And I haven't gotten it back from her yet, for sure. So it must not be too heavy.

But, for Papillon, it is not a replaceable battery.

Thanks both. Yes that does like something I would like but since I do have other mods, the replaceable battery is a big requirement. If I were to list the requirements in order of importance they would look something like this:

1. Available from Fasstech.
2. Replaceable battery
3. Small size factor
4. Strong 510 threading
5. 30 watts upwards
6. TC optional (not essential but a bonus)

It's really only an issue if one doesn't sub-ohm.

If you use high voltage/wattage, you're fine. The absence of down regulation becomes a problem when you need lower voltages ( anything less than 4.2v).

Not if you build your coil to be at or above the proper resistance for the wattage/taste that you want, or use a pre-built coil at the proper resistance. i.e., if you like 8 watts, use at least a 2 ohm coil.

Actually, (apparently, again I don't have an IPV D2), if you use Kanthal in TC mode you can make it step-down to the wattage you want. Understand that it will not be TC even though you are in TC mode if you are using Kanthal.

Yeah, WHY did they do THAT!?!? Why can't they just use a micro usb like like everyone else? And use the same non-peeling paint as everyone else???

Well...China (on Tuesday) devalued the yuan by 3%.

The coupon is for 5%.

So...to me...the FT coupon "covers" the devaluation (and throws in an extra 2%).
