It DOES look a bit on the orangey side to me, too.

Fit, not that I'd highly recommend them (anymore), but the iStick does come in a very nice shade of pink. Might be worth looking at?

Why wouldn't you "highly recommend" the iStick? I'm assuming that is a 20W from your picture...looks like it. It does run a bit hot at lower setting, but it does work well. The iStick 30W comes in the same "fuscia" or hot pink, too.

My emphasis was on "highly", and only because there are SO many more lil itties that have come to be available since the 'Stick arrived. I think it's a fine choice, but was a GREAT choice when we had fewer options (a year ago). The 'Sticks are what they are and for me, simply not worth the hassle and worry. Most of mine are gone now due to the inherent probs with the threads and the USB port (both are weak points in the design).

Do I still use mine (my one 20 and my one 30)? Yes, I do, and will most likely continue to use them til the ports sink in.

My wife had 2 iStick20. First one died with the USB port issue after a couple of months. Second died with the threads issue after 6 months. While they worked she was really happy with them once I worked out what the settings should be. She now has a pair of iStick30 that seem to be behaving themselves. I also got her a Defender 25w but she did not like the feel of it. I like it just fine so it is now mine!!!

I think they worked out a lot of the 20w's bugs, with the 30w -- stainless threads, anyway, and it does step down nicely. I haven't had any issues with the USB port, and I've had a pink one since... hmmm...Since early April, so about 6 months. Also a black one, about 2 wks newer, also no issues.

I think I've become less prone to problems with threads since I got the Achilles -- top-fill, so not so much off-and-on with the atty. With the Kayfun it was every 4-ish ml, off and on.

You're speakin' my language! It's no surprise that I'm a big fan of the Defender (thank you {{{hug hug}}} Kent). To me, the hand feel is one of its greatest attributes!

If someone holds small box mods like this:

handposition-1-jpg.491691

(thanks Andria)

... then square sides gives one more support and rounded ends don't :- )

The rounded ends of the defender and kbox mini are designed for? this type of hold:

(thanks Katya)

... where unlike the CF4↑ (and the istick 30w, D2 and others) with one round end, the "button side" is rounded as well. I use the index finger pad. A thumb trigger could work depending on size of hand....

Well! It's one of my greatest attributes, too! You'd be a big fan.

And, Kent, I use both grips, and prefer curves either way.

I have one Defender 25w and I'm not fond of it. My gripes are as follows.

It's curved on both sides so I need to feel for the button.
The puff timer goes out too quickly. I like to see how long I was puffing.
The 10 seconds goes by faster than my iStick 20s. I'm not imagining that, I've compared them side by side.

Things I like are.

A 22mm topper fits without overhang.
The built in SS Ego/510 adapter. I always use an adapter on my 20 watters to save the threads.
More wattage, although I never go over 13 watts. I might need it someday.

I'm tempted to take it apart to see if it's the same board as the iStick 20w. I can't find any dissections of it on the web.

Pretty simple to disassemble - see about 15 minutes into this video. Another reason why I like it :- )
