Eh, rba can cover a lot of different things, but as said earlier, it usually is used for tanks designed to use replaceable coil heads which have a rebuildable accessory. Usually - any atomizer designed to be rebuilt, whether it's a dripper or tank, could be considered to be a "rebuildable atomizer" (RBA).

RTAs (rebuildable tank atomizer) are typically tank atomizers designed only for rebuilding, and the deck is normally an integral part of the device, not an accessory. The build deck usually consists of a chamber surrounded by the juice reservoir.

RDAs (rebuildable dripper atty) generally refers to atomizers without a tank or juice reservoir. Some have "juice wells", but not separate sections for coils/liquid.

Then there are rebuildable dripper / tank atomizers (RDTAs). These usually consist of a dripper deck, with a reservoir for liquid either above or below the dripper deck. The purpose is to try and combine the best of both worlds - a similar vape to a dripper, but the convenience of a tank.

With the number of atomizers and different designs that have been produced, sometimes it's hard to categorize some.

BOOM!

So, this looks good, but I'm trying to avoid tanks with replaceable coils--at least for now. Have you tried their RBA coil?

Katya...I've not (yet) tried to rebuild any coil or RTA...based on stupidity and dexterity...(and a, probably, unreasonable amount of laziness)...

[But...I am feeling the "FDA Pressure" to learn to rebuild something within the next 2 years.]

also got the AIO - with a pack of 1.0 coils. Wondering how the 1.5Ω coils would work with them (the .6 and 1.0 are recommended). We'll see :- )

Well Kent...based on the ol' principle..."If's it's not broken...don't fix it"...I've been so satisfied with the MTL experience of the Cubis with the 1.5Ω Clapton's and the AIO with the 0.6Ω coils...that I've not (yet) tried any of the other coils available.

[Will be interested in your thoughts on the Cubis PRO...and your experiences with the various coils in it and the AIO.]

I'll post a 'review' :) ....once they get here. I've waited (sometimes a long time) for 'pre-orders' before, so....

Thanks for your info...

I'll be interested in how the .6Ω coils do. The eGo Ones that I have, have been the 1.0Ω coils - again, which I thought would be a bit 'hot' but aren't. The ylang yland is my lightest flavor and tastes better on the eGo One than the Kbox mini set to 8Watts. And better vapor as well on the eGo One?? The QCS coil with the notch coil, replaceable cotton looks really interesting but not at .25Ω. I'm thinking I should have picked one of them up just for 'education' purposes.... haven't looked at any reviews on it.

Although not a doomsday device because it has a built in battery, I think you would very much enjoy the Innokin vv V3 for its small size and 800 mah. For 15 dollars you can't go to wrong!

Innokin iTaste VV 3.0 Express Kit Nature Edition (acrylic box) - Best Price & Reviews

Altho I don't use mine all that much, I will say........ I'm still a huge fan. $15? NO BRAINER.

I tried the .5ohm coil without rinsing it first. Very little vapor until I start upping it to around 20 watts. Everything about it seems to be made for direct lung hits, which I'm not interested in. Luckily, this Pico works great with my tanks made for low wattage, and I'm getting a little more comfortable holding it. I seem to be using my middle finger on the button, mostly.

I got my Provari 2.5 mini and've been fooling around with it. Works great with my ego tanks, and for now at least, it feels less foreign to me than the Pico. It seems, though, that after getting more acclimated to the Pico, that one will feel better than the Provari.

Next I need to find the right rebuildable stuff. For me that would be ones made for mouth to lung hits, and very low wattage friendly.

I still don't know the difference between RBA, RDA, and whatever else there is that's rebuildable.

nicnik, I did catch quite a few of your posts, and yes, it IS confusing as to what's what. I believe you prefer the low wattage (Tootle Puffer) type of vapes, and from the bits I know, the Kayfuns are ideal as MTL vapes. They will work well on your Provi, too.

As far as the hand feel goes... coming from mini eGo, everything is bound to feel really strange at first, but you WILL get acclimated to the varied shapes and sizes as you vape them for awhile.

Are you ok now with the acronym definitions for rebuildables?

I had one of those, back when. They're nice little mods! Congrats and enjoy it!

We've got a SHEET for that. ;)

Feel free to add/edit!

:grr: I still can't recall how to add in a link without displaying the whole sheet! Sorry.

I'm getting very used to the Pico. I read in another thread, someone said they wished the firing button was where the battery cap is. I put my thumb there, and I sort of agreed, but realized that it's better the way it is.

After that, more confusion set in, and now, often when I pick it up, it's like I think its my old friend Zippo lighter, and try to flick the battery cap. But that's made me appreciate the shape more. It's bigger than my Zippos, but sure fits my auto pilot sensibilities.

I used the Provari (mini) until I ran the battery down. I'm waiting for my charger to arrive, and have been using the usb port on the Pico for charging. I know that's not a good way to do it, so I don't charge it for very long at a time, so that it doesn't get too hot.

Once I can charge the battery, I'm gonna use the Provari a bunch. I'm gonna like using the Pico more, but I feel a lot more secure owning the Provari, which sure does seem built to last, as everyone says.

Yes, thanks, Katdarling. Got some helpful responses.

Oh man is that ugly!
It is. There are some things I like about it, including the belt clip, lock button, and possibly the "die cast frame", if it is as solidly constructed as they claim. Based on the 61g weight, I'm not convinced.

However -
ugly, pure copper pin (nope, had an old Sigelei with one of those - bad idea), flimsy-looking contact on the battery door.

The rotary dial thing might be fun and different, might just be kinda dumb.

BOOM!

I didn't think it was so ugly, there's worse but I wondered about copper threads. I thought copper was a soft metal. A sturdy mod designed to last under $100 would be a welcome idea. I kinda liked they didn't include tc and some of the other bells and whistles.

Copper is relatively soft. It's softer than brass which is softer than bronze (these are the 2 most common alloys of copper).

I would be very surprised if they use copper for the threads. The 510 center pin may be copper though. Copper is very high on the conductivity scale, second to silver. Both copper and silver get surface oxidation (tarnish/patina) which has some insulating properties. Gold is below copper, in conductivity, but gold doesn't oxidize easily. That's why it's used for electrical contacts.

What happened? Did you drop your mod or something?
Nah, had a Sigelei 100w when it first came out. The first production runs had pure copper 510 pins, which were really soft. It didn't help that I was using a Magma with a long 510 connector. The pin just ended up getting scratched and bent out of shape, and was prone to corrosion. After the first production run, they switched to a copper alloy pin.

BOOM!
