Many Happy Returns to you! :toast:

You only need to reduce your nic if you plan to subohm (below 1.3 ohms or so). When I did MTL I was vaping at 12mg. With subohm and lung inhaling I vape at 3mg. I don't see you doing either of these so if you build your coils at say 1.7 ohms & MTL (mouth to lung) you will do fine at 12mg.

Hiya @tmcase, I did it! I pulled the trigger at MVP last night :w00t: The CFIV 18650 kit comes with an Innokin iSub V tank with two .5 coils so I expect I will give them a go somewhere down the line :laugh:

I do a lot of shopping from MVS. You might want to look at this CF IV which uses replaceable 18650 batteries. Innokin Coolfire IV 75W Temperature Control 18650 Starter KitIt's a good way of future proofing yourself. I have it and am quite happy with it. I did not get it with the kit tank, so I can't comment on that, but it's been fine with all the other tanks I have. Just remember you'll need an external battery charger as well (there's a nice little 2 cell Nitecore charger in the clearance section of Provape for $7 that I have and has been fine).

Thank you @Eskie, I got the future proof version! Nitecore = Check! :D

Hi again, Delightful.

Blister packers and Tootle Puffers, yeppers! Even the language has changed (and you are more than welcome to blame me for some of that).

You'll be fine with making coils once you really FEEL like going in the direction. There's no rush right this second, but do give it a bit of thought, and I'd watch plenty of videos. Remember, dahlink, there WAS a day that we didn't know how to fill a karto....... ;)

Once you find a tank or two you like, you'll prolly enjoy trying out different coils. Since I still "Tootle Puff", I typically stay in the 1.2 to 1.8 range for my tanks. And since I do not subohm, cloud, or anything close to it, I can vape happily with much higher mg. strengths. (I use 15ish now) I've never found a need to cut the nic (in half or any amount) vaping the way I do. I also don't care for airy hits.

The CF4 you posted is quite nice. The one that DPL and I are getting is a newer version that allows for a replaceable 18650 battery. It's a bit smaller and more hand comfy, and takes it design from the original Cool Fire 4.

Here it is:

Genuine Cool Fire IV(4) TC-18650 Express kit 75W with Authentication Code

Hello dear itty bitty mentor @Katdarling :D I also got a 'naughty' 10 tank with my CFIV18650. You're a great influence ;)

I forgot to mention @Delilah718 that I have spent a lot of money at MYVAPORSTORE. No worries with them.

Also, I want to mention again and again...do not buy anything with an internal battery. Once the battery dies your mod is toast. ;)

There are a lot of good people here that can answer any question you may have so don't be shy. :D

Remember, the only dumb question is the one you don't ask. ;)

Good to know MVP has a good store rep - I received their "just shipped" email this morning! CFIV18650 - Check!:banana::D

This is a tricky question. Generally speaking, single coil atties generate a bit more warmth--long story.

More generally speaking, there are two basic ways of vaping--Mouth To Lung (MTL)--low wattage (higher resistance wire), less airflow, higher nic content; and Direct Lung (DL)--high wattage (low resistance wire), tons of air, clouds of vapor, less nic. Try both and see which one you prefer. Both Kanger Subtank mini and Joyetech Ego One will let you try both ways--MTL and DL.

Hiya @Katya :) Kanger Subtank mini, Joyetech EGo One MTL & DL vapes wishlist - Check! Thank you! Learn something new every day - I had no idea I was a MTL vaper :thumb:

I'll second that. Excellent service, and I've never had a problem with an order. I once had an item I ordered on a Sunday night, only to receive an email Monday morning that they were actually out of stock (black Pico). Emailed them back and changed to silver which was available (and I really like), they made sure the order still shipped on time the same day, and I had it Tuesday (they're based in NY so I don't even have to pay for express delivery, the range is automatically next day by UPS for me).

I've gotten the Pico, a Plato AIO, and the CF IV all from them, as well as assorted tanks and stuff, and not a single issue working with them.

Like you @Eskie, I expect I will be a repeat customer!:toast:

Sound advice, from many of us! Barring court injunctions - which, imo, are not liable to happen in time if they happen at all - the deeming takes effect on Aug. 8. While that won't take things off the market for up to two years, there won't be anything new, and supplies / replacements may become scarce. So having mods that use a separate battery may well be the difference between vaping and not. Built-ins, yup, when the battery dies, as they all will in time, it's a paper weight.

Hiya @DavidOck, yep, I'm taking all of this great advice to heart! But I may still want a vape toy or two with internals!:D

Indeed you will be a TPBP. <nods> :D (and in good company)

Resistance is not that important with regulated mods. Keep the coils you have and start at 5 (pretty low) to 7 watts and go up from there until you find a happy place.

Good company indeed @Woofer! :toast: You've all been so generous with your time and advice, I can't thank you all enough! I feel like an itty bitster already!

I had no idea my old school carto tank would work on any of the newer pvs on my shortlist! ...put on power mode and start from 7w... put on power mode and start from 7w.

I have 5-6 Mods that go up to 75W...but...I've never vaped over 12Watts...

I have 5-6 Mods that have "all coils" TC...but...I have NO interest in TC...

The tanks you have should work quite well on Power Mode/VW...starting at 5-7W and just "working up" til you find the vape you like.

On your "short list"...without a second thought...I'd get the Wismec Presa. I find I pick it up much more often than any of my other tube and box Mods...its "hand comfort" is unbelievable.

[Except, of course, for my eGo AIO's...which I want to use ALL of the time... ]

CFIV as my first VW/TC it is! Shopping now to see if I can find a 'kit' to order ASAP!

I've been using TC for the last 2 yrs since the DNA40. I recently started using 316ss and like it better than Ni200. It's easier to use and tastes a little better (although it might be in my head).

I haven't used anything that didn't have an Evolv chip/board but I just ordered a COV Mini Volt because it's tiny.

Hello @gerrymi, nice to meet ya! :) That Wismec Presa was/is on my shortlist! In fact, I put it in my cart last night and my trigger finger is itching like crazy!

Hiya @KTMRider :), nice to meet you - I am super curious about TC - I hope you don't mind a few questions...

- What did you vape before going to TC?
- What's your wattage?
- What ohm do you use and is it warm or cold...

TC Curious itty bittser wants to know:laugh: Thanks!

Hi there!

I was vaping kanthal in a few KFL+ atomizers. Usual build was 1.5Ω @ 12w. I'm not a cloud chaser but it's fun once in a while.

With TP, I was building 0.10Ω Ni200 at 450°F, set to 25w but throttles down to 8-12w after 1 sec. It's a very similar cool vape as my kanthal builds but no burnt hits ever. If you like it warmer, you can adjust the temp up to 480°F. And if I wanted to change flavors, I just keep vaping until there's no more vapor and fill with different juice.

I recently switched from Ni200 wire to 316L ss wire to try out and I like better. I went with 26g and it's really easy to work with, unlike Ni200 (think wet noodle!). I still have 4 DNA40 mods in daily rotation so I can't give up Ni200 completely. I have 5 DNA200 mods and 2 DNA75 mods.

I also rewick much less often than with kanthal because it never burns my wick (rayon). There is a slight learning curve but totally worth it, IMO.

Wismec Presa TC100W 18650/26650

Ask yourself if you need that much more power than the Presa 75W, and do you really need the option to use the 26650 batteries which I hear are hard to find, and since it supports the 26650 batts the mod has to be a little bigger than the 75w and probably more expensive. I realize that it supports the 18650 which we all have and can get anywhere so why the Presa 100W? Just curious. :p

All good points tmc...

The 100W is bigger and heavier than the 75W...can use hard to find 26650's...and (Delilah you said you were a low wattage vaper) has 25W extra that you'll never use...
