I keep looking at the Hell vape MD... Should I? I can't decide!!! I haven't bought a new MTL tank in a long time. What other MTL tanks are out there these days???

You did NOT just ask a bunch of vapers whether or not you should buy something.

:D

BP Mods Pioneer RTA. I've been oogling it for a while and it seems like an amazing tank. It has all the functionality you would want in an RTA. The inserts are a bit limited though. 0.8mm for the hardcore MTL'er, 1.2mm and 1.5mm for the loose, but it basically ticks all the MTL boxes. It also has ultem or pctg tank for tank crackers, top fill bayonet lock, small chamber (or one with a larger chamber) and it has a short kit, extension kit and even, for the fans, a (R)DL kit.

So far so good with this one (for me). Decent flavor, not a heavy drinker, and not overly wet. Love the look, which is the best part for me (bling-bling!).

I'm using the standard MTL setup, with the largest airflow screw from the DTL kit, and TINY bore tip from Creme de Vape.

Yes, that's correct. It's MY vape, TYVM. ;)

Hahaha, this cracks me up.

Sounds good. And hey, the more power to ya! Vaping is a *very* personal thing. It doesn't sound too crazy though. Airflow can be one of those very specific niggly things.

I like the new (FL MTL) Dwarvs. I also got a Tripod but it's still sitting in the box, so I can't comment. Both come with lots of airflow control inserts that let you fine tune your vape.

For drop-in coils, you can't beat the Zenith/Zlide line. The best drop-in coils on the market.

I have 2 Zlides and I like them but I wish they made an RBA coil for it.

I was hoping for one too, but now, honestly, I don't anymore. I have plenty of good RTAs if I want to rebuild (or the FDA starts banning things for real), but I like Z-coils a lot and have no desire for an RBA coil. It's such a joy to just be able to pop a new coil in that someone else made for me. No muss, no fuss.

I'd be surprised if they ever did. That tank is heavily marketed for non-rebuilder market.

The Ares RTAs are their solution to an RBA for the Zlide.

But I would not rule it out.

Lots of people find value in RBAs for dropins (like me), but most rebuilders seem to look at them as inferior over RTAs.

Phil said very clearly, many times, that they are not going to offer an RBA coil for the Zeniths.

I'm generally of the same opinion, but the Z coils are truly exceptionally good. The old drop-ins used to be inferior to the RTAs, but that's not true anymore. We've come a long way.

I have to try rebuilding one. I recently bought the cotton strips and they should work in the Zlide coils.

I find the Z coils get nasty tasting with my liquids. I can only get up to 4 refills with them before tasting nasty.

It may be worth having a good look through the Zenith Threads, someone rebuilt one not too long ago and posted about the results. I'm not sure if there was pictures with it or not. From memory it was @Dieseler :thumb:

Yeah, I've heard bad things about the Z coils (i don't own them or the tanks they fit in). In the end, the same caveats apply just like other drop ins and YMMV, that was my summation.

Someone in this forum recently mentioned about having rebuilt them, but I don't remember who it was. Wasn't Dieseler.

I think I remember reading months ago that one of the main pitfalls to rebuilding them has something to do with one of the coil legs being at the top of the coil housing rather than both at the bottom like is usual for 99.99% of all the drop ins that have ever been manufactured.

 Must be your e-liquids. My Z-coils last for weeks. But I vape very lightly flavored (or unflavored) e-liquids.

FWIW, I've been using Z coils for a long time and have had zero issues with flavor or longevity. I use .8 and 1.6Ω coils. YMMV, as always. :D

Dieseler rebuilt them with no problems at all:)

That'll help. I vape almost strictly peppermint which is almost clear and not very sweet. The factory coils I use peppermint in last me about a month.

I also vape an RY4 but 2 weeks max with that. So I only vape the RY4 in rebuildables. The RY4 isn't that dark, but much sweeter. But since I know the coils last about a month with my peppermint, I feel ripped off if they last any less time so the RY4 only gets using in rebuildables from here on out.

I calculated my vapocalypse coil stash based on 1 month per coil so it's important to get at least 3 weeks per coil to feel safe. Ain't happening' with RY4.

Well, that may be so. I'm just relaying what I remember reading. Plus, what I read may have been from someone less skilled in such things. I would never know what skill lever others have when they write positive or negative posts about the ease of rebuilding coils I don't have.
