So I went into my local Cloud 9 today with some friends looking at hookahs and such. I asked how much for the eGo-C Twist, and believe it or not they say $60. I say "Whats with the high price?!" He responded "Well we can throw in a 15ml bottle of juice with it." I dont understand.. Online I can get the same exact thing for just around $30. If I show them the price on the joyetech website would they likely lower thier selling price? Thats just too ridiculous for me. What are you opinions on buying in a physical store vs and online store? /Endrant

Convenience. I purchased my Ego-T starter kit at a tobacco store for $60 (easily 2-3x had I purchased it online). However, for me, I may not have purchased it online when I first started and I had a "I want it now" mentality.

Generally local stores do have overhead that online stores do not have, so that needs to be factored in. Yes, I can find most things cheaper online, but in the beginning I didn't know what I was looking for. That initial $60 turned into me quitting smoking after 25+ years and buying my mom a similar kit online for $20 and her subsequently quitting smoking after 45+ years. Great investment. :)

I understand that businesses need to make a profit, and the expense of running a B & M store has to be considerably more than having an online business.

So, if I am "desperate" and really need something in a hurry, whether it be vaping supplies, or anything else, for that matter, I bite the bullet and pay the price. Mostly, I try to plan ahead and get the best value for my dollar, which is usually online.

However, just in the little bit of looking around I've done at vape stores in my area, they can vary tremendously in price for different stuff.

I bought my first e liquid at a vape shop so I could try out the flavors. It was $6 for 10 ml. I didn't mind, because I wanted to get started right away, and didn't want to wait for something to ship. A new shop opened near me, and I stopped in to look there recently. They sell their e liquid for $11 for 15 ml, which I'm not willing to pay.

They have to buy the stuff from China (usually) and as individuals we can do the same. The difference being I don't have to pay rent on a building, heat and light it, pay a helper, pay business and other taxes and so forth. The final decision is how much do you want to support a local business? I don't blame you, I wouldn't pay 30 bucks for what I can get online for 15 either, but I will pay a bit more for some of their juice just because they let me sample a bunch first. You can't do this online.

Seems to me a lot of new shops are opening that focus on first-time users and juice buyers. Not much in the way of inventory or DIY stuff, but now I'm used to buying online and am spoiled by the variety. Like a convenience store, you pay a few bucks more if you really need it. Have seen some ridiculous mark-ups, but again, I'm sure a lot of cost overhead is involved.

I overpaid for my first eGo kit, yeah, and never returned to that store. Don't hate them, though. They got me off smokes and I have simply found other cheaper alternatives. I love little shops, my neighborhood is full of all kinds and I buy stuff from them now and then, every local vape shop will eventually get me for a battery or a tank. Just cuz I luv my 'hood. It's the Vulcan way.

I guess I'm pretty lucky. I found a new shop in town that I just visited over the weekend, and the prices are pretty reasonable...$59 for an MVP...$35 for an itaste vv3.0...$15 for a 900mah ego...$2 for eVod heads. AND $20 off after $100 purchases. He had adapters and wick which I needed. His juice is a bit high at $20 for 30mil...but not unreasonable. I left a few dollars behind and it's really nice to shop where I can touch and feel and taste what I'm buying. I'll certainly do my part to help keep him in business.

I have bought before thinking I was supporting the local economy. No more. I was there twice and there was people in the store. They are not starving.they are charging $18 for a mini Vivi nova. so on and so forth. $9.85 for a CE5. Yikes.

Wow. Expensive.

Yeah, I have my limits too. If I see prices are outrageous, I usually say I'm looking for something I know they won't have, just as an excuse to get out without a price haggle. Ain't worth it.

Where in GA and is that a head shop? The actual vape shops I've seen in GA don't rip people off and that much for just a twist is a rip off. The 2 places I saw in GA called Cloud 9 (google search) are Columbus and Alpharetta which both have legitimate vape shops nearby.

ETA - More info on Georgia and vaping in the link in my sig and this thread.

Welcome to the 7-11 side of Vaping.

Convenience!

I honestly do not care if/when we get a B&M in my area. I have been doing all my shopping on line since day 1 and had to rely on smart shopping and ECF Assistance on Product quality all along the way. I have, no doubt, made a few bad choices along the way. Likely some of those would be made in store also.
The biggest thing is I have, even with mistakes, saved well over $1000 against online avg. pricing. That would be a B&M difference of 2k-3k.
I work to hard to foolishly give it away.:)

Depending on your likes and particular location-

VapeRite has a location in Woodstock. https://www.vaperite.com/contact-us They have different products online as opposed to in store and prices may be slightly higher in store. I've only been to the one inside the perimeter but I hear Woodstock is just as good.

Dixie's Vapor Shop is in Kennesaw Dixies Vapor Shop | ECig Store Kennesaw, GA I've never been there but it gets good reviews on ECF.

Awesome Vapor Your One-Stop for Electronic Cigarettes | Awesome Vapor and North Georgia Vapor https://www.facebook.com/NorthGeorgiaVapor/info are both in Cumming. I've been to both and personal preference is North GA Vapor but awesome has it's own appeal.

The northwest of GA is where the Atlanta vaping movement seems to have begun so there are probably more than those but I don't think any of those would be too high priced and the employees I know of at them are knowledgeable. So basically, not all shops are the same as the one you mentioned but as mentioned, a B&M will usually be a little higher in price due to expenses they have which you don't get online and face to face customer service with the convenience of not waiting are worth it to me.

Well the tobbacco shops around town sell DK for 8$ 10ml and I've broken down when waiting on the mail. But a dedicated shop just opened in town and it's kinda nice. Replacement coils for 2$, 15$ 30ml juice and they'll let you try anything, not the best juice but not bad. Folks are nice enough. I'll be back.
Still, I stack potatoes for a living and I have decent taste, I'm not going to turn down a bigger bottle of better juice from Madvapes for less scratch. I don't fault them for their prices, their not even that bad for online but still.
I never see cars other than theirs in their lot, and their website doesn't show up on google. I worry about how much longer they'll be around.
Eh, the lady who normally works the counter spent 15years at the warehouse of the company I work for and escaped to do something less degrading and sweaty. They'll get the bulk of my business.
