first off, am thrilled to be here. by "here" i mean both here vaping, and here on this forum. you guys seem welcoming and so helpful!

ok. smoked 1-2 packs for almost 18 years. have tried to quit for the last 5 years, never making it more than a month or two. i cant tell you how relieved i am to not have to worry about quitting anymore!

i went with safe cig starter kit. lol thank you for telling ppl not to regret first purchase, at least it got me here, right? sigh. got it wed, and thats the last day i had an "analog." i will note that the company accidentally sent me 2 full orders, and only charged me once. gave mom the other set, she has already failed, but i am fully on board!

i am fine with the 2 piece. i cannot see myself doing all the refilling and syringes and all that. and i have enough to clean already.

i am fine with the 5 hour battery life and relatively constant vapor production. but then again i dont know any better haha!

BUT, i ordered too high nicotine dose. i read on some forum (not this one) that a high dose might be helpful for ppl switching over, and so i got the highest. am having the side effects and am trying to chill using it, but its just so....anyway i ordered lower dose right away, should get here today or tom afternoon. am going from 24mg to 16 i think. i went to the middle.

the taste is pretty horrible. i was a menthol smoker. so with that and the strength and the nic side effects...well this is going both good and bad. at least i dont want to go buy cigarettes WHICH IS SO WEIRD FOR ME!!

i originally wasnt interested in flavors, i just wanted my menthols. now of course i want to try them all. i am getting that im not going to replace my menthols. i can live w that, for the benefits.

i just dont know what to order next. before coming here i was going to order a V2 kit, b/c i liked the designs. i am a chick and so if i can make it cute thats great. pink and flowers? please. but i would take taste over design. all black w good tastes would be fine.

so now after coming here i am thinking about the vapor king or the ace. i dont like the button on the side thing, but will deal w it if thats best. are either of these vg instead of pg? is there a way i can try vg cheaply to see if thats better on my throat? or will the lower nic dose take care of that?

sorry for rambling! and thank you in advance. i tried to upload pic of kitten, but my files are too big.

Check out Vapor4Life. They have KR808 kits in different colors that might strike your fancy. The manual batteries are best. Trust me. Automatic batteries have a hole at the threaded end and if juice gets in there it can ruin the battery. Manual batteries are sealed so you don't have to worry about that. You'll get used to the button in no time. It me less than a day to even quit thinking about it.

If you want to try different flavors and PG/VG mixes I suggest VaporBomb. Really good juice, incredibly inexpensive and they have sample sizes. I'm not a big fan of throat hit, so I vape 50/50 or 60PG/40VG.

You might want to give this article a read, too. It will help you understand what your body is going through right now.

Hi and welcome to ECF and the world of vaping. First and foremost - CONGRATS on your days without an analog!!

When I first heard about e-cigs (from my pulmonary doctor's technician), he sent me straight to AltSmoke.com and told me to start out with the Yeti 510 Starter Kit. I was excited, but at the same time, never imagined *anything* could replace smoking because in my 27 years of smoking, nothing ever could before (despite trying just about everything). I liked the look of the 510 (slightly longer than my analog 100's, very slightly larger in diameter). The 510 Yeti I got was all black matte finish with a little blue LED at the end. I figured I could handle something that didn't look exactly like a cigarette. But I was afraid I'd look "weird" using one, LOL. I got the manual batteries, and was a little worried that it would seem too weird to press a button to get my fix, but what the heck, right?

Then my 510 got here. I got it out of the box, charged up the batteries and read the precious few instructions that came with it. Then hubby and I went outside for our first vape. From that moment on, I KNEW cigs were a thing of the past. We had bought our LAST pack of cigarettes. Over the next few days I realized it really wouldn't matter if I used a pv that looked like a Fireman's flashlight, as long as it "vaped" well and kept me off analogs.

About 2 weeks ago, I did get kind of bored with the plain black batteries so I decorated them! I used fingernail decals and nail polish. One battery has little bejeweled butterflies and flowers spiraling around the battery (went over the whole battery with clear nail polish to hold the decals in place). Another battery I just used glitter nail polish on. I thank Mistress Nomad for her video showing how to do this.

Now as for flavors. I was always a menthol smoker - and when I started vaping, that's all I wanted too. I got the Nuport flavor and was pretty happy with it, and it was the only flavor I vaped for about the first week. I could never imagine vaping what I thought of as "weird" flavors like fruity stuff and chocolate, etc. Just give me my menthol!! Well, that changed after I got my first taste of Chocolate Mint. Then Black Raspberry Champagne. Then Ry4. LOL! Now I'm looking into DIY mixing of my own flavors soon.

I think when we first turn to vaping, we still have that mindset of "gotta have a cigarette, gotta have a cigarette". Then we realize that vaping is NOTHING like smoking at all. It is an entirely NEW experience that just happens to give us the nicotine we crave. Once you get past thinking of pv's as just a "different kind of cigarette" and start thinking of them as a way to vape some awesome flavors AND get your nicotine, you'll stop caring what your pv looks like. All you will care about is "what's the easiest way for me to get my nicotine and taste great".

Hi! I don't know where to start! As far as nic levels, before I "backed off" I'd try a lower nic level - especially if you chain vape. You'll need to experiment to find what works for you - even different levels of nic for different times of day. I'm a chainsmoker who now chain vapes 12mg and still think I could cut it down a bit.

I've found refilling if nothing else is a cost-saving advantage, I can try far more flavors, and isn't 1/100 the chore of cleaning ashtrays and spraying Febreze every 20 minutes to keep the smell of analogs down.

As for prettying up your PV, try some nail art!

thank you for commenting on my post! i saw them congratulating you for all of your posts on another topic =)

the piece on symptoms while i adjust to vaping was great. i am having a myriad of them. got my lower dose carts today, still hate the taste and it makes me cough, but at least i am not over doing it on the nicotine anymore.

yeah i will might get the vapor4life kit...but i cant figure out which bats are being discontinued, and if the carts come in a color to match the batt...and they have no 1 800 number lol....they also dont say how long the batts and carts are...

Well for the person who mentioned the V2 route, They are having a lot of problems filling orders and the website doesn't tell you what is in stock. I am a rookie started on Dec 23 but these forums I am learning quick. I started with a V2 which is a KR808, I love the battery. :::ducking for cover from the 510 posters::: but I think it will work for me which from what I gather from these forums it what works for you is important. My initial trial didn't succeed but it did cut my smoking in half. If I cut my smoking in half I can go the extra mile and get rid of the other half. I am trying carts from different companies right now to see what will give me that last push. I am addicted to vaping already already ordered a Bloog maxxfusion to try that one out with different flavors. Wish me luck and hope to see u in the forums.

I would recommend the Joye or Joye Ego. I have the Joye ego which is bigger than the regular joye but I am super happy with it. They have many different colors. I have the pink but am thinking about ordering the purple. I was a little worried about the size because for me, the more feminine the better. I do wish it was slightly smaller but I love the battery life and have been extremely happy with it. By the way, I think the joye ego looks alot better in person than the pics.

As far as your throat goes. For a while, the only liquid I could use without my throat burning was the No.7 liquid (E Cigarettes, Electronic Cigarettes, Electric Cigs). This liquid never burned unless I was out of liquid. With this liquid, they do not have many choices for flavors and they only sell a large bottle of liquid and do not sell small bottles so you can try out the liquid. My husband ordered the low resistance mega atomizer for the joye ego and can use other liquids without the burning. We also started dripping on the atty instead of filling the carts. I am not sure if the burning is coming from the poly fill or if it was the 510 atty.

I prefer dripping on the atty because the maintenance of filling carts got real annoying.

Me and my husband went through a smoker's flu or smoker's detox period when we first quit regular cigs. It sucked but feel much better now.

Although I don't have one (yet), I have to agree with jm on the ego. Much better battery life and it is easily adaptable to anything (901, 808, native to 501) which will let you experiment to find what works for you. I started on JoyCig (BAD idea) autos and returned that for a Vapor4Life 808 kit. I like this one MUCH better, but it's not as adaptable and it takes me both batteries (though the second still has some charge left) to get through the work day.

Like you, I'm pretty new (about a week on the V4L kit) but I haven't been able to completely kick analogs yet (3-4 a day still), so congrats! I'm not sure if I'll get an ego yet or not since I'm waiting for the Infinity to get stocked (notcig.com) so I can switch to a variable voltage. I find the 5v passthrough to be a little hot and the standard batts to not have the vapor I'd like most of the time after the first 20 drags or so.
