So I thought I would google what percent of tobacco related deaths are from cigarettes vs other tobacco products, and I stumbled upon this little gem from an anti-smoking website on one of those "tobacco fact sheets":

"Smokeless tobacco products are less lethal, but are not a safer alternative to smoking. Using smokeless tobacco can lead to nicotine addiction and dependence. Use of tobacco in any form harms health. (Source: Cancer Prevention & Early Detection Facts and Figures 2010"

"LESS LETHAL BUT NOT A SAFER ALTERNATIVE"?

I swear to GOD man... these antis say some of the stupidest things sometimes. The fact of the matter is that you can put a lot of things in your mouth, but your lungs are really only meant for air. anything that only enters your mouth and not your lungs is much better than something you inhale, and that goes for cigars and pipes as well. of course if you wanna use nicotine, smokeless stuff is obviously the way to go.

If you use the same CDC data that is the source of all the claims that 46 Million smokers = 400k+ (spooky fact: 666^2=443,556) annual deaths from smoking on smokeless tobacco, 46 Million smokeless tobacco users would result in 6000 deaths from oral cancer (compared to 13000 oral cancer + 380,000 others from smoking). That is a 98.5% reduction in mortalities, and that is "smokeless" tobacco which doesn't even include modern Western and Swedish-style snus that have drastically reduced TSNA or the 8.6 Million smokers who have a chronic disease that is caused or worsened by smoking.
