I am working with my doctor to figure out the joint and mucles pain. Feels like a lactic acid issue so I have been changing my juice to exclude PG, also had a suggestion to add potassium supplements. The weight gain I have gotten under control and have lost 10 lbs and have another 10 to go. I am just changing my diet to compensate.

I don't have a final answer on the real cause at this point.

I'd be interested in what you find out.

I smoked for 10 years, now vaping for almost 4 years.

Only bad effect from vaping I get is dry mouth, no big deal. We joke a lot about how expensive vaping can be but it doesn't have to be, I'm now at less than 400$ a year of vaping stuff.

Health has not improved, I'm still fairly young and I only smoked for 10 years, I had a good health before vaping and I still do today.

...most people experience initial improvements, myself included.

These questions are mostly directed at lung-inhaling, previous smokers, vapers

I would like to ask and find out the effect of being a long term vaper ?
Have you noticed and bad health effects from vaping at all ?
Has your health significantly improved (like if you had asthma or some other health issues) or maybe even declined (I hope not) ?
Do you go to doctors regularly and what do they say ?

I prefer facts.

Thank you :)

I can't say that I have noticed any effect on my health, positive or negative since I began vaping. I did not suffer from "smokers cough", or experience any issues with shortness of breath, and the like as a smoker, so nothing has changed there. I do not go to doctors, and I would have to be near death to do so, so I have nothing to offer there.

Probably the most positive effect that vaping has had on my life is that it smells much nicer, and it is a more enjoyable habit. I realize that many vapers made the change because of health concerns, but that had nothing to do with why I wanted to quit. It was an expensive, smelly habit, and every time I would observe an older women smoking, it was very unattractive looking, and there was no reason for me to believe that I didn't look equally as unattractive when I was smoking.

Ive been vaping since September of 2011, so almost 2.5yrs. I smoked for 14yrs.
I've noticed increased energy and increased stamina while cycling after quitting smoking. Obviously the coughing and phlegm has stopped too. I never noticed an improvment in taste or smell though. I guess smoking didn't rob me of those in the first place.
The only negative aspect I've run into with vaping is difficulty falling asleep at night. Like MrMann, I used quitting smoking as a springboard to improve other aspects of my life. In turn, I stopped doing things so often that would make me sleepy. So a combination of that and the extra nicotine in my system results in my sleeplessness.

I really appreciate all your answers.

I smoked 1 PAD for approx 33 yrs, I didn't really want to quit smoking, but felt like I had to, simply because a short walk (350 yards) from front door to the mail box would leave me near breathless.
I found vaping about 6 month ago and was off cigarettes within a week (+/- a day). I now enjoy taking deep deep breaths without it ending up in an extended coughing fit.
I have not had a cold this season (knock on wood -- I got a wood desk :D) and was suffering from hair line fractured rib(s) from previous severe colds and coughing until summer last year.
Currently I have been experiencing dry throat issues, that causes a tickling in the back of my throat and makes me cough a little (I hope it's not the onset of a cold, but do not think so).

I vape mostly max to 100% VG (with the exception of flavors, looking into VG flavors), due to a PG sensitivity. I'm trying to reduce (by DIY liquid) any kind of throat hit as much as possible, but I'm not sure it is as long as I continue with using nicotine (10-12 mg/ml). In the next few weeks I'm planning on reducing nicotine content slightly ... and have almost from the start used bottom coil 2+ ohm coils at low watts (3-6 W).

So far (besides what I mentioned above) I have not had any negative impact from vaping.

Again, thank you for your answers and details.

..........I used to suffer major chest colds at least once a year. Since vaping, I've only had two days of a runny nose in late 2011.

I smoked for over 50 years before I started vaping in July of 2010. I was totally off cigs in two weeks and was amazed at how fast my lungs cleared up and I could take deep full breaths (about 3 weeks). And, knock on wood (JD hurts his knuckles by banging on his head a little, ouch!), I haven't had bronchitis since I started. No colds either for that matter, but I used to get bronchitis so bad and would have to get a shot and medicine, then at least one and sometimes two booster shots to knock it out. I have no doubt the mildly antibacterial properties of pg help in that regard.

This whole bit about colds is a bit interesting to me. Since I started vaping (late 2010), at most I've had a couple bouts with the early onset of a cold, but it never materialized into anything full blown. I can't say I miss getting sick 2x a year though. LOL
