skyztheLynnit, I remember the term bottom feeder, but I think it may have been somewhat after my most active time. I purchased what I believe is a tankomizer in DeSoto, MO. It has long wicks coming from what I would call the top of the business end. Worked great on day 1, but it seems to get dry quickly. I don't know if that qualifies as a bottom feeder, but it was nice for traveling through St. Louis.
hadouken, it's good to know that people are still dripping! I used cartos for several months into vaping, and it's a wonder I kept with it. That ..... was terrible.
razor, people are building things at less than 1.5 ohm? Man, like I said, LR was a big deal when I left, and LR was 1.5 ohm.

Heh, ya they're down around .6 ohms on mechanicals. I'd love to pick a mech up and give it a whirl but I am a little tight on money so I stick to around 1.5 with my rebuildable on the Provari.

Where in the hell have you been Dante! Get back here!

Lol. Ya been a while. And yep I'm still on the HHV bandwagon. I only ever got time to run around on the forums while I was at work. Lol. And we just went thru new management so my phone playing time took a hit. No worries. Seems to be all good now.

First off, welcome back to all three of you, jdg, DantesInferno and TaketheRedPill!!! How's that ol' saying go? "You can take the member out of the ECF, but you can't take the ECF out of the member."

I can imagine coming back after even 8 months you're all running into Information Overload. E-cig technology is moving even faster that computer technology and new gear is coming out before the old gear is out of style or commission! But you're right, if you need info about what's happening in the e-cig world, this is the place to find it.

jdg, a little clarification on "bottom feeders" they are not the same as the Bottom Coil Clearomizers (BCC) skyztheLynnit is referring to. Bottom feeders are usually mechanical mods that have a tank below a cup reservoir that your carto or atty screws into. Juice is squeezed (or squonked, proper terminology) up to the atty or carto. Two popular ones are REOs and VMOD-XL

Love my VMOD-XL with an AMG Hybrid Atty, it's like dripping without the hassle of stopping to drip. A quick "squonk" from the 9ml bottle of your fav juice and your back to vaping.

More about BCC tanks down below.

Dante, lots of water under the bridge since last I read one of your posts. I had just started to visit ECF around the time you left. You had done some banners for HHV before Warner Brothers hammer came down and Adam had to change a few juice names.

I see Robin already said howdy, come by the sub-forum and set a spell. This invite goes to anybody reading, as well. Link's in my sig.

skyztheLynnit, welcome to you too. I like your choice of juice venders - MBV is one of my favs. You're right, Kanger EVODs and ProTanks do seem to be the hit for clearomizers at the moment. However, if I may clarify the terminology just a tad - they are not bottom feeders, per say. They are Bottom Coil Clearomizers, or BCC, as apposed to top coil clearomizers like the Vision Stardust, ViVi Nova and others that have the atty and wicks at the top of a central post inclosed in a tube of some sort connecting to a 510 or eGo threaded battery.

Please see note above to jdg for the true description of a bottom feeder mod. You're welcome to come visit HHV sub-forum too. A great bunch of people who love vaping and sharing stories. (See Link in my Sig below.)

I still have the cig-a-like 401 three piece jobbie from ProSmoke, but just keep it round for the memories. Luckily I found this site before going through all that experimenting you're talking about and jumped to eGo Twist batteries and APV mods. I did read about those exploits while researching and finally finding ECF. Man, those must have been the days!

But more important than having the latest & greatest gizmo on the market is finding something that works for you. If your Janty Stick is rolling your socks up and keeping you off the stinkies, then more power to you!!!

That is all folks - Happy Vaping. :toast:

Ahh. Ya I did do some banners for Adam there at HHV. That was one of my first things I had to change coming back in here was my gandalf signature. Lol.

See Robin's link to the HHV Army subforum and get your ... over there. Yes, lots has changed since you dumped us. We have our own subforum. Lots of threads. And we changed the name of the original thread to HHV - THE BIG THREAD.

Yep, some of the folks you remember are still there (with lots of new ones.).

The HHV Army This will take you to the subforum.

On tapatalk, you will go to Community, Product specific, then HHV at the bottom of the list. I THINK that is the order.

Thanks Robin. Link didn't get me there. Might just be a phone issue though. I'll try to navigate on my own.

Hey TaketheRedPill! Good to see that someone else has been happy with the same-ol'-same-ol' for a while. I never did get a chance to puff on a 401, but I had a JantyStick. And filler materials.. man, I remember buying blue aquarium foam to stuff in my cartos. I'd bet that a post advocating that is still on ECF somewhere. It was vastly superior to that white cottony crap.. until it turned my juice green.
Good luck to you, and if you find something truly awesome, let me know!

Fluval - the badge of pioneers LOL - at least we knew it was 'fish-safe' green ! right? I'm off to discover the new world of adapters, there's something I can evolve my 401 into, I'm just sure of it :) See ya around ECF!

Welcome back!

In my opinion the following are some of the bigger "new" things in the vaping world (timeline might be a tad off, meaning you might already be aware of some of these things)

Overall vaping has gotten extremely technical and involved. Well, potentially technical and involved to a point not seen two years ago, but at the same time there are more basic products that are even easier for new vapers. In other words, if you want to vape simple, now is the time. If you want to get into minute details of everything involved with your pv now is also the time. Likely due to the emergence of rebuildables on the market. Which is my next one

Rebuildables are now very popular, with tons of models on the market allowing various different configurations and setups. They are also more available now that china is pumping out clones of popular high-end rebuildables. This is the section of the vaping community getting into sub-ohm coils. Generally around .6-.7 for single coils and down to .4 for some dual coil builds. Obviously it all depends. Which leads to the next one

Which is sub-ohm vaping, I figure it deserves a category all by itself. Cartos, clearos, attys, etc just cannot handle high amounts of power. You cannot put 25 watts into a carto without burning out your carto. You can however put 25 watts of power into a sub-ohm coil without the issue of burning anything out. With these sub-ohm builds people use much much thicker guage wire than standard vaping equipment uses, which means more surface area, which means tons more vapor and flavor. Pretty much everybody doing subohm builds are using mechanicals, since sub ohm coils at standard battery voltage can pull upwards of 6-7 amps sometimes, which is way too much for 99.99% of the regulated and variable wattage/voltage devices out there. And many of those devices have a low-ohm cutoff and won't fire under 1.2ohms or so usually.

There is also a HUGE explosion of good performing, solidly built, super cheap variable wattage and voltage devices coming out of china. Smoktech started it with the Zmax (first Chinese VW mod I believe, and 2nd VW mod period, Darwin was first I believe?) Since then various manufacturers have been using basically the same chipset and dropping it into a million different sizes and shapes of tubes and boxes.

Some people might poo-poo this one, but I think the Njoy king is another big new thing in vaping. It's just a disposable cigalike, but it's the EXACT size of a real cigarette, has a soft squishy body like a real cigarette, is the lowest-weight ecig around, and performs and tastes closer to a real cigarette than anything I've ever tried, and I've tried a LOT.

Genesis style devices broke out huge on the vaping scene, although I'm not sure if you were still here when Raidy first shared his amazing creations (which is where all genesis designs come from, the name genesis was even coined by Raidy, the German supergenius) Genesis devices are rebuildable atts that use stainless steel mesh as a wicking material instead of silica. Benefits include the standard benefits of a rebuildable, plus increased nicotine delivery (in the opinion of many many people including myself) and increased flavor.

I think MountBakerVaper would definitely be considered a new big thing as well. They offer very very low prices (cheaper than dekang in some instances) but offer high-quality delicious juice. They also allow you to customize pretty much everything about your juice, nic strength, PG/VG ratio, how much flavor, etc etc. And they accomplish all of this in very short order, usually shipping orders the same day. Awesome prices, service, and quality, I cannot think of anything more to ask for. Heather's Heavenly Vapes makes better juice in my opinion, but they also take 2 weeks to get you your juice and they cost 3x MBV. I still love HHV and buy their juices, but MBV is my mainstay for the juice I use the most. I'm with you on the Dekang Desert Ship, years later I still like the stuff. I swear it changed at some point though, it seems a bit less sweet nowadays. Maybe just my pallet changing.

Thanks to everyone for all the responses! In the time since I first posted this, I ordered a Vamo V2, which I'm very much enjoying. I have to say that it gets some looks as I'm out and about, but that's to be expected in SD, I guess. I do wonder about the battery life, though. An 18650 at 2250 mah doesn't seem to be lasting twice as long as my eGos at 900 mah. Any thoughts? 10 watts on a 1.5 ohm 306 works out to roughly the same battery drain as the eGo, but maybe my math is wrong.
I do have a wishlist that I'm hoping to get all in one place, and I'm hoping that you fine folks have a suggestion. I was 2 18350 batteries, a rebuildable dripping atomizer, supplies for said atomizer, 2 306 atties, a couple of drip tips, and some juice (Dekang is fine). Litecig seems closest, but I don't know which RDA to choose. What do you all think?
Edit: I should add that I don't want to wait for Chinese shipping.
