Hi Everyone,

Figured I'd post and share my story and thank you all for helping me a great deal.

I have major ADD, but have refused medication for most of my life. In my last years of college, however, it really started to affect my school work as well as my personal life. I decided to give the medication (vyvanse) a try, and the difference was unbelievable. It helped me so much, it was really like night and day. The biggest side effect I experienced was an overwhelming urge to smoke. I turned from an only-smoke-when-im-drunk kind of guy to about a pack a day over the course of about 6 months.

Fast forward 3 years and I'm now a medical student. The stigma around smoking is extremely bad in this environment, and obviously for good reason. I found myself driving around in circles in my car several times a day, just so I wouldn't be spotted with a cigarette. I cant be a smoking doctor. So I bought a starter kit and some eliquid and gave it a go. Within a week I had no urge for an analog and I was absolutely shocked and elated.

Been smoke-free for several months now. I tried smoking a cigarette yesterday, just on a whim. I couldn't even finish it. I was disgusted and actually threw up. Dont wanna jinx it but I think that's a good sign.

Thanks for everything! I owe the community here alot!

Congrats on your success.
As an aside, I have always thought that smoking eventually has an OCD component. You get so used to the associated behaviors and movements over time that it becomes psychologically addictive.
INMHO, the psychological addiction can be stronger than the chemical addiction. Vapeing satisfies all of those behaviors.
