I smoked 2 packs a day for 35 years. I started vaping 6 months ago. I haven't had, nor do I care to, a cigarette since I took my first hit off a PV. I haven't been sick since I started vaping although everyone around me has had colds and viruses. My smokers cough is gone. No more hacking at all. My taste buds are back and my nose can smell again.. My wind is much better than it was while I was smoking cigarettes but some damage was done but I can breathe much better now. My morning congestion has disappeared completely. My blood pressure is down. ...so yes, there are substantial health benefits.

Do the ex-regular smokers still get crazy coughs/broncithus when they get sick after switching to vaping? Any health benefits that you guys can feel yet?

Once a year, like clock work, I would catch a cold that would immediately make a canonball run to my lungs. I was in for at least a week of bronchitus misery and antibotic madness. As a 1-2 PAD smoker for 15 years, it was just part of the whole addiction package.

This year I still got the cold, but no lung involvement. I shook the sniffles in 3 days, didn't have to go to the doctor, and saved about $80 in doc visit plus prescription meds. My significant other even noticed that I didn't get as sick as usual.

I'm at my 5 month anniversary smoke free. This was after multiple attempts to stop smoking including using the patch, pill, lozenge, nicotrol inhaler, meditation, etc...

Maybe we'll find out in time that vaping has a negative side effect. That's possible. But in the meantime, I don't wheeze, cough, huff and puff climbing a flight of stairs, have tightness in my chest, or any of the other garbage that went along with smoking.

Best of luck. :)

I used to get bronchitis yearly (often twice a year) before I started vaping. If there was anyone sick in a 50mile radius..I'd catch it. Since I started vaping, I've had 2 minor colds in 2 years... neither turned to bronchitis. PG is an antimicrobial and has shown to kill airborn viruses and bacteria. It's my theory that I'm not getting sick as often because I'm constantly surrounded by a cloud of PG lol

In addition to that, it's also been shown to aid in the lung cleaning process that happens (the coughing up of nasty lung junk).

I'm with the rest of the sick-free folks (relating to URI health, anyway LoL).

I would constantly suffer ear/nose/throat illnesses that frequently required two to three rounds of antibiotics that would end up causing further infections (fungal/oral thrush that was worse than the sore throat caused by sinusitis!).

May have had a couple days here and there where I felt like I might be catching something, but I'm really thinking I was just low on the ol' water level... drank a lot and felt great the next day each time.

I agree about our PG cloud protecting us ;)

Same story here. Only can add that before making the switch I was on Advair and an inhaler and haven't had to use either since.

I've smoked for nearly 10 years, APAD. Within a week of dropping the analogs for Vape. My lungs were free from Chronic Bronchitis/inflammation. You will be amazed of how well you will begin to feel just within a few short weeks.

I am on my 2nd round of bronchitis while vaping. I'm not sure if it is related or not.. but I am very concerned as to whether or not it is inducing these breathing issues. People around me are saying it's related, but I'm not sure. I smoked for roughly 11 years, and started vaping around 7-8 months ago. Anyone else dealing with this?

Had one sinus infection that I did not get treated in a timely manner, which is common for me, that did not bring on bronchitis.

Since bronchitis was such a common thing for me, I usually waited until that came on before getting to a doc, so the sinus infection went on way too long before I got some antibiotics to treat it.

Everything is doing better since switching. Everything.
