Thanks everyone, these are some fantastic answers. No doubt my next purchase will be a VV mod, as i have no interest in the slim profile batteries. Am i correct in thinking that with some TLC the box mods last indefinitely, and i'd only need to replace batteries and (of course) atties/cartos?

I wouldn't know. I drop, fling, and knock my PV's around too much to know.

I know my ProVari stands up to my usual antics.

Haha durability is a plus. Realistically I'd need one that was waterproof, fireproof, shockproof, and had a tracking/anti-theft feature. But if it takes being thrown around and maybe being dropped in a puddle I'd settle for that.

One thing about the Provape Provaris is it does sound like they have durability like the notcigs products. Buzz' have been dropped off motorcycles, down shafts, and run over :) Rivas, 808s, other stock proprietary PVs just don't stand up to the beating that good mods do (though they are a super, affordable, entry to vaping).

I picked up 2x riva 510 batteries, a quick charger, and 5 boge 2.0 ohm cartomizers, all for under 40 bucks shipped. Are there any benefits I'm missing to picking up a kit, besides the inclusion of juice? (and i didn't like options most vendors had for the kit juices)

Also, long-time vapors, what would you recommend to first-timers that are interested in getting the most bang for their buck and aren't particularly concerned about aesthetics?

Pretty much my exact order. I don't think I'd change that. If I changed anything, I might not have bought so much juice and been happy with what I did have and like.

...pretty much what I am using now...we started with Rivas, and my wife is still using them and doesn't want anything else...I eventually got an E-Power and still use and love it...for Christmas, I got a VV box mod and it is truly great as well, love 5v vaping...sooooo, I regularly use the E-Power and box mod with the Rivas as backups.........

You did great thats a perfect kit to start with and could very well be the only setup you use for your entire vaping experience.

almost a year later and I am still using my startup models...joye 510 and riva 510. only difference is instead of carts I use a clear tank cart (I don't like cartos) and different liquids than I started with.......

I think Hoosier is my brother.....LOL.....I, too, am careless and/or clumsy. Nothing is safe around me. I took all that into consideration in the beginning when I ordered my mods. Provaris are very tough, and I custom ordered my two Reo Woodvils in some of the hardest woods available. They all still work flawlessly and there is not a scratch on them inspite of living with me all this time........LOL

Ah, good, you are now a member with PM and able to post in other sub-forums zeratul734.

Hope to see you post in the Hoosier Vapors sub about the next meet-up sometime. Last one had more than a couple of ProVari's there.

Didn't realize there were gonna be so many Indiana folk on here. Had I known about Hoosier E-Cig, I would have supported a fellow crossroads resident rather than ordering my Inferno (which I do like...alot). Rest assured I have many more purchases to make in the future :)

I think you made a good choice, as an intermediate level battery. I quickly moved off the slims onto egos, which served me well for a while. Now starting to acquire some of the lower-end mods which I use at home. When I'm out and about I use the ego 650's with the Smoktech mega dual coils. All black for stealthiness.

Haven't had any problems with my Little Man mods from: Home - Krimson Kustoms

I like my LT too: The LAVATUBE

I wouldn't classify myself as a "veteran vapor" but allow me to share my insights..FWIW. The eGo batteries with cartos is the perfect match....I don't understand where some "need" more or longer battery power...I mean, I vape all stinking day...and I mean ALL day with the eGo's and have NEVER run out of battery power...NEVER. Of course, tomorrow, both batteries will die...LOL :)
