Longevity questions

Just wanted to ask some questions regarding usage/longevity of various parts from V4L:

How many recharges will they do before having to be replaced?

"Old" batteries (assume old style, since I purchased them 2-3wks ago)
I have 2 autos and a "long time" manual battery. I think I'm seeing reduced function on them...ie harder to draw with, less time in between recharges etc. (No, I have not put a pin into the little holes on the sides of the threads to clean. But have wiped the top/threads with an alcohol soaked q-tip).

I have seen on some reviews and posts that some say recharges 4-5 batts. Does this mean it is only engineered to recharge 4-5 batts one time each (on one charge of it's own) or one time each total (as in life of the charging case)?

Sometimes Steve gets bad batteries in. I have found that new carts work best on my batteries, and that refilled ones work best on my PT. (new carts on PT are fantastic as well) The batteries my kit came with had me going back to the 510, but the new one's I rec'd in my last order, I've put the 510 away. Everyone here knows it's been a struggle for me, but I've came around. Wish I would have found these first, I have a lot invested in the 510, and with what I've invested in the VK it's all over a $1000 in 3 months. It's nice to find the right thing in the first place, lol

PCC, it's good for recharging batteries up to 6 times, then you have to recharge the PCC.

You really need to make sure the holes are clean. That will lessen the hardness of the draw. Just alcohol will not clean out the holes unless you use a lot of alcohol for a long time. The battery works harder when the air flow isn't right. This could be the reason you have to recharge so often.

From what I've read a properly functioning lithium-ion battery should only weaken to 80% after 300 to 600 full charges.

i have had 2 batts for 3 weeks, both of them seem to be performing as usual, inevitably they will eventually die, but so far so good, pcc works fine, seems to be same as day 1

I knew about the holes but didn't want to stick a metal object into a battery! Ha! Was a little concerned about the alcohol too, but just let the batt dry before trying to use after "washing" it. I'll break down and do the needle maintenance. Darn. hehehe Thanks Andy this answered my question regarding the hard draw.

I also read again more, much more, about refilling carts and how overfilling/filling incorrectly might cause hard draw too. New to this so I guess it's my trial and error stage getting me. Ugh

Regarding the re-charge issue (have to recharge too often I think) maybe the gunk is causing bad connection between batt and charger? We'll see after the needle/pipe cleaner method.
