Hi all! I'm new here, and I have some basic beginners questions. I bought a V2 kit in November of 2012, with the intent to quit "analogs". That hasn't actually happened until today. I recently bought some blank cartos from v2, and some of this "Boba's Bounty" juice. The manually filled blanks seem to be FAR superior than the pre-filled ones, which I'm happy about, and the juice is worlds beyond the standard V2 flavors. BUT, the battery life is atrocious. As I've read this forum, there seems to be a clear consensus of "buy this" for newcomers:
If I decided to pony up for this "upgrade", I'm not exactly clear on what options I should choose. I'm guessing that more "mAh" means longer battery life, so I'd probably choose one 900mAh twist, and one 1000mAh spinner, to see which I prefer. Is that the idea? Also, these "clearomizers"... Are they tanks, or cartomizers? OR, are they a hybrid? I was given advice by someone that I should buy tanks and standard atomizers. I've seen the Kanger T3's called tanks, and that's an option to buy with this kit. If I buy this kit, what replacement parts should I buy? I don't wanna wind up dead in the water, without replacement parts.
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

The more mAh the longer the battery life, that is correct. That kit is perfect for a starter as it comes with 2 batteries, 2 tanks, charger, extra coils, and the case. You can be vaping with one battery while the other is charging, or you can have 2 fully charged batteries while out and about, so you don't have to worry about running out of battery. 2 tanks lets you keep 2 flavors and also you will have plenty of juice for those all day trips. Once you figure out how long a flavor will last you, you will have an idea whether or not you need to keep a bottle of juice with you! Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping .. I just got my "big boy" stuff today as well - an eGo 500mAh battery, an eGo-T 1000mAh battery, assorted tanks and a few cartomizers. The eGo-T is a USB passthrough meaning you can keep it plugged into the charger (or USB port) while you vape - if you spend a lot of time at your computer, that may be a solid upgrade for you down the line!

here's another option for only $44.... DV eGo-T Starter Kit - 1100mah

U can also get this with 2ea 900a batteries if U prefer, for $39.. and yes the 1100a will last a lil longer per day than a 900a, but either will last ya all day long......the clearomizer U can see thru to the liquid level...I like the CE4's and rebuildable CE5's..I also have the T3 but prefer the CE5's, just my personal preference..I find the T3's tend to leak more and gurgle when liquid level gets a bit low and end up with mouthful of juice..both the T3 and CE5 sell a replacement coil for $2, so no need to dispose of the clearomizer and buy an entire new one..

2-1100a ego-C batteries
2- rebuildable CE5 clearomizers
1-carrying case
1-AC battery charger
1-USB battery charger

I agree with rprata. A kit is the best way to start with a new system. Personally I really like the ego kits, for the price and functionality. 1000mah batteries are a little large for me, and if it is a Twist or passthrough system it becomes even longer. I personally like the 650mah batteries as I find they are a good balance between size and power.

The kits are a good place to start if you can get it at a good price. I can't click that link as its blocked from work.

When i first started I paid something like $79 for my ego kit and I wished I didn't. I could have bought everything in the kit separately and saved money.

That said I use ego-c twists for work and I like the 650mah as it lasts me from 7am to around 4-5pm. I carry a 1000mah as a backup at all times and use it daily.

The 1000mah lasts a couple of days for me or close to it easily. But I prefer the smaller 650mah battery as its...well smaller.

I have several mods but I use the ego twists every single day because they are small, vv, and work well. I also only use Kanger protanks with them because they are leaps better than any other clearo I've tried. leaps better than just about any thing ive tried thats not rba.

That's a nice little combo, not many ways you can screw up. :p

(I'm not telling you what you should do, but ...) If I were considering this, I'd probably go with 2 of the 1300mAh Spinners - different colors - and EITHER the MT3s or the Evods on both. If this were a normal, regulated device, fixed at 3.2v/3.7v, I'd say that 900mAH would be plenty ...but this is a VV device, so you can (and will, with the MT3s or Evods) be upping your voltage to probably 4.5(ish), which is going to cut into the time your battery can go without recharging. That's my $0.02.

Also, these "clearomizers"... Are they tanks, or cartomizers? OR, are they a hybrid? I was given advice by someone that I should buy tanks and standard atomizers.
I don't know where the term "tanks" came from, but it is a little misleading, now that it seems to be used to describe anything that is shaped like a 'tank'. This may not be completely accurate, but it's better to think of juice delivery systems in 3 terms: cartomizers, clearomizers, and cartotanks.

Cartomizers are the small, disposable 'cartridges' you can purchased pre-filled with juice (although you can also get them as blanks).

Clearomizers are the 'tanks' that you just put juice in and it is wicked - like a candle - through the coil head (which is either bottom-coil - meaning the coil is on the bottom of the clearomizer nearest the battery - or top-coil - meaning the coils is at the top of the clearomizer nearest the drip tip). Given that definition, all of the choices you have presented to you in the "Cartomizer" option - lol - are, in fact, "Clearomizers". Many clearomizers are actually not 'clear', don't get hung up on that.

Cartotanks are what you refer to as "hybrids" (I think). These use a cartomizers inside of (and being fed by) a clearomizer 'tank'. These can be dual-coil devices (DCT) with a coil at both the top and the bottom of the unit.

Here's a picture dictionary of the more common juice delivery devices that can go on your eGo batteries. It includes video's on how to use all the devices listed:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...k-what-primer-juice-delivery-attachments.html

Below is a tutorial video on the use of a Vision Spinner eGo battery and clearomizers. Same applies to a Joyetech Twist.

The below pic will give some perspective of size of the ego type batteries compared to a cigarette and two cigalikes. The three eGo batteries shown: 650 mAh, 900 mAh, 1300 mAh.

OK, so I'm just about there. Thank you for all the info/advice. Thanks for posting that video, Baditude, it made things much more clear.

I think I want the 650mAh batteries, because of size. The tanks/clearomizers are my last sticking point:

I like the look of the Vision Clearomizer. I've read about leaking problems with the T3's. The EVOD's are often recommended, and look almost identical to the MT3's, but they look rather large. What are the differences between these delivery systems? Is there any real difference? They all seem to be very similar, and all have replaceable atomizer/wick units. Correct? I'd like to stick with one kind, since I'd rather not have to buy spare atomizer heads for different tanks.
