Looking at getting a Vamo

Hi all
I've been looking around the internet and I'm thinking of getting a VAMO in the next month or so..is there only a tank that goes on them or is there a drip atomizer that can go on the VAMO? I like to change up my flavors and not be stuck with the same flavor all day..I think I have had all of my other questions about it answered..thanks in advance..

You can use anything with 510 threading and most eGo threaded guys.

I know you can use the 357 long barrel on the vamo and that should br good enough.

On s personal note, I've been dead set on getting a vamo for awhile now but recently decided SVD would be better

I have used others vamo's, and while they are nice, and seem to work just as well, I think my smoktech SID is everything a vamo is and, just a little more. Mainly it feels way better in my hand, it also seems less rattely because of the black grippy coating. The threads are a little rough bit they work and have yet to give me any trouble.

Jazzi Mike is right, the Vamo has a 510 connection so any 510 atomizer, clearo, carto or RBA will screw onto it.

I have two vamos and find I like them better than the eVic Intelligent I had before them. It's a nice unit. I use DCT tanks, iClear 30's and the Kanger ProTanks with it and they all work beautifully. Personal favorite would be the ProTanks though the DCT tanks have good flavor.

I have been reading up on the Vamo, particularly in the APV / Model Specific Vamo thread. While it looks and sounds like a nice VW-VV APV with a seemingly large bang for the buck, the center post issue is looming large by my way of thinking.

It seems that just too many people are having difficulty with the center post getting pushed in after a very short amount of time. Since the center pin / post is where the 'rubber meets the road', and the spot that gets lots of movement and action, this is a pretty big, glaring and wide-spread defect afaic.

Not completely knocking it just yet, but if there is ONE PART on it that should NOT BE SKIMPED ON, c'mon now, you rocket scientist APV engineers and manufacturers out there, the center post connection would probably be one such part. (And these things are not exactly rocket science, btw....) Seems like a fairly easy fix, but who wants to have to fix it after a couple days / couple weeks??

Just be careful out there....it's a jungle and the wild, wild west combined. If you have one, I hope you're not one of those having any trouble. Seems as if many are. Inexpensive is one thing, but at any price point, though, we have to at least demand that stuff holds together for more than a few days or weeks, NO?

Pretty sure that center post gasket issue has been addressed in the updated V2 & V3 versions. There's also a "V4" version that's been modded for sale by at least one vendor. It's a V2 SS body with the pcb and OLED screen from the V3. You'll have to Google it because I didn't bookmark the link when I was looking at it.

I have a Chrome V3 I got from Fast Tech last month that's working flawlessly. I know that V3's manufactured with the Rainbow Heaven firmware had an issue of continuing to fire in wattage mode for a second after releasing the fire button. At least one vendor recalled them.

Correct me if Im wrong, but I have been seriously thinking about picking up a vamo V3 lately and doing alot of research, and Im pretty sure I read on the Fasttech website or somewhere that they fixed the center post issue on the newest batches of V3s by making them spring loaded.... Sort of how the CE4 clearos I have been using have a spring loaded post. I like the looks of the vamo V3 and seriously want one... What would be your opinion on them if the battery post issue has in fact been fixed? I have never had a chance to try one and the only local B&M near me doesnt have on to try out...

I ordered a Vamo from fast tech. 1 day to process the order and the 2nd day got an e-mail stating it shipped (July 10). I will let all know when I get it, so you can see about shipping times. Then I'll post about quality.

It's not just the gasket necessarily, it's that the center post seems to get PUSHED IN way too easily as well, maybe due to a thin or flimsy gasket.
Not sure about center post issues being resolved on any of the models. I believe I am seeing posts from many with this issue on the V3 center post as well.
I will look again and try to post back.

Anybody else see info about a spring-loaded center post on the new Vamos?

Using my Vamo V2 for 3 months now and no issues whatsoever BUT I was aware of the center post issue and NEVER over tighten anything on it. Another issue is the fragility of the 510 connector. Again no issues here as I'm very careful when attaching a carto or clearo to the device.
As far as I'm concerned the 510 connector should be an easily replaceable part on ALL PVs.

I have mine since Oct 2012 I love it. Haven't had a single problem with mine. If you don't have a charger pick up a XTAR works great.

Am using four VIVI NOVA TANKS filled with juice switching in and out all day chain vaping works good for me. There was a learning curve, seems I got it down packed now!

Some people had issues with low ohm readings.

Do a search on UTUBE (Vamo Fix and Vamo Repair) lots of information to watch.

Don't forget your need batteries to swap out during charging cycle to keep using it non stop.

It was a quick fix, and it hasn't happened again, but its definitely something people need to be aware of. There is basically zero margin for error with this center post. When attaching your tanks, stop the very instant you feel it make contact. I twist mine on extra slowly & carefully like i'm trying to crack a safe lol

I have had my Vamo for about three weeks. I love it! Have not encountered the center post issue, but I try to be cautious when tightening. The ego drip channel is too narrow for MT3's to fit, but I bought a 510-to-ego adapter and can use any device on it now.

That from over tighting tanks or what ever being used its not the a VAMO issue it's us.

If the post goes down to far, use a thin screw drive or even a thick type needle and prior it up a little at a time switching from one side to the other.

not sure which version I have but my vamos well opening is very thin and ego style clearos will not fit. I used a ego/510 adapter and messed up my middle pin and it wouldnt fire. Tried to fix it and of coarse made matter worse. Got a 2nd vamo and the egos still dont fit but I refuse to use the adapter again. On the bright side my drippers and carto tanks work great on it!!

To the OP I don't know how you carry but if you put it in your purse the Vamo is something you don't want. The reason is because anything that touches the settings buttons will change your settings. I top pocket carry with a cell phone in the same pocket and found it very aggravating. For very near the same money you can get the SVD and the settings can be locked, there are no fiddly issues with over tightening, and it does everything the Vamo does as far as VV/VW.
