Fear not, this isn't a "I'm not sure what mod to get please recommend one" thread. I'm looking at getting a KTS but before I commit to it I would like to know if anyone has experience with this mod if they would recommend it or suggest a different mod in its place.

The reason I wanted to settle on this mod is because its telescoping, its got a bottom fire button but the button isn't on the base of the device which I don't like, and its look. So these are the reasons I'm looking at getting this one, if anyone would be so kind as to either encourage me to get this one or suggest a substitution in its place I would be very appreciative.

Thanks in advance.

I had been looking at the SmokTech telescoping med mod but its got the base mounted bottom button and I'm really just not a fan of that. I like the pinky button more (not sure why since their both pinky buttons) but I know with all the clones are knock off floating around I'd rather check my facts before blowing more money on something I many not really want.

I don't mean this in any kind of patronizing way, but have you tried a bottom button yet? I only ask, because I was anti-bottom-button (aesthetics, and was wary about the ergonomics in firing it) until I decided to go out of my comfort zone and buy one last week. It's no where near as uncomfortable as I thought. In fact it's not uncomfortable at all. They're really a good design. There aren't many way to mess up the mechanics in a bottom button (although Sigelei really plopped the poo on the original #19). There's more engineering that goes into side buttons, and top side buttons, that can lead to failure to perform.

I have 3 clones and i love them all. A private v2 clone, a sig 19 nzonic with brass button, and a k100

The private v2 clone is aluminum, which people generally hate. Personally i like that its lightweight, and im just very careful with the 510 threads, and even then its gotten a little wobbly. Its the cheapest at 13 bucks

The sig has a really hard bottom throw, i like the ss with brass button personally but you can really set these mods up the way you like them with all the options. Youre looking at 30ish for the mod, and if you want to set it up nicely by buying a new button and cap and replacing the spring maybe 50-60 in the end.

The k100 is 22 bucks and fine the way it is, and the only photo i have is on a truck... It has a unique look, which i kind of like for some reason, and performs without flaw. Definitely a great mod for a first mech

I also was not sure id want that bottom fire, but ive grown to find it the most comfortable option. You get used to it very quickly, and its comfortable to rest a larger mod on your finger tips, which is convenient for firing. So dont feel swayed by button location

I have not but I guess the reason I'm so sensitive with my finger placement is I place a string instrument for several years so I was imagining what it would feel like. Guess I'll need to go down to the local B&M and play with one before I commit.

Thanks for the suggestion, guess I was ruling it out prematurely.

Does it come with the RC truck? ^_^

prematurely, NO that's why you did the thread
I just went asking around before I bought the mod I was going to
and ended up buying something I did not think I was going to buy also

that's why I love this forum

I also have a K100 and a KTS. I prefer the K100, but only because of the way it feels in my hand. I actually prefer the side button of the KTS because I can set up my Genny RBA and know where the wick is. I can then easily keep it wick down when I tilt it.

I feel both these mods are great value. Both hit hard. I've heard of both having hot button issues, but more so the KTS. There is an easy fix AFAIK. Good luck with it!

I cant talk from experience
But after a lot of reading posts and threads I got the chi-you clone from fast tech $27

After tons of reading through threads and going back and forth between this and that
I seen this video
Chi You Clone vs. Chi You - YouTube

It just seemed like a good choice plus $27 shipped how could you go wrong

But I seen thread and air hole problems with the 2,I was originally looking at

Awesome, thanks a bunch bro.

Well, as I said I like my K100. The button is hard to press, but that means it will stand on end with no danger of firing and it was easy to learn how to fire with my ring finger. There is a thread on them here.

Cool stuff, I'll give it a look through.
