I'm planning on spending a (for me) decent chunk of change on my second non-twist "upgrade", and am looking for an 18350 (possibly kicked) mech mod that's a constant diameter and relatively simple design. Atmizoo Dingo, GP PAPS / GUS G22 and the chi-you are my current contenders.

I'd love to hear opinions from folks who've personally held one or more of those devices (or similar) in their grubby little paws: things like switches that bug you, issues with centerpins, atty's not sitting flush / having trouble with air flow, finishes that don't wear well, springs that are twitchy, that sort of thing.

I am currently using a VV device and having no complaint vaping my battery down until the mod cuts me off so am relatively sure I don't need a kick (and therefore an 18500, which knocks the Dingo out of the running) but if any pro-kick folks want to toss in their 2c I wouldn't mind!

Thanks for reading and I hope this is the correct forum for this post.

The mods you have listed are all very nice. You might want to look at the GG Stealth also. I vape fully mechanical mods and do not use the kick. But keep in mind vaping a mechanical is not the same as vaping a vv. You don't have any cut off for the battery, and there is nothing there to keep the voltage regulated.

Before you knock the 18500 out of the running tho. You can add the kick with the 18350 in an 18500 tube, also the 18500 being in between the 18350 and the 18650 gives you better better vape time than the 18350, as well as can safely handle a wider verity of ohms if you are getting into rebuildables. Not to mention still smaller than the 18650.

I'm comfortable enough with RBA's that I'm not worried about my coils being much trouble (I'll still have a VV device with its own Ω-meter for testing purposes) and just didn't really see a reason to add the kick's extra length to my mod. If I can manage to make a solid decision on the kick, either way it would take a couple mods off the list, as I don't like the Dingo/Roller extension tubes.

Similarly, the GGTS is sexy but the telescoping bit (even if I'd never intend to use it) throws me off.

I can recommend the LavaFire fully mechanical ...it's really sweet in both the 18350 mode as well as the 18650. DV has/had them. Extremely solid device with nothing dodgy about it. And yes..it can be kicked. The top connector piece can be screwed off so you can change out batteries no hassle. It's copper with chrome plate, so that's no problem. Another one I noticed recently (but haven't tried is this http://www.smokerevolt.com/The-XCalibur-Mechanical-Mod_p_348.html which looks like the same model as DV sells that they call "Tec Mod". At any rate...it appears to be (and reputed to be) another very solid mod probably of comparable quality to the LavaFire and takes many sized batteries. I haven't checked so I don't know who has the better price...DV or SR.

The GGStealth is not the GGTS the stealth is just a 18350

When I Kick my GGTS it's usually with an 18350 and no problems. Unless the button on the side is a deal breaker for you I'd suggest the GGTS. You can get it really small depending on how you set it up. Also you can later add a Stealth Cap. You can configure it a ton of ways and have adjustable draw. If it turns out its not for you, your funds can easily be recouped in the classifieds. It's the only mech I've owned or used, so I could be biased 8)

I don't use a kick with mine, but I would think you would use more energy with a kick to maintain your desired wattage. I use a 1.7 ohm and say 3.7v battery gives you 8 watts. With the kick you would maintain that through out the battery charge where as in my case I notice a drop off in vapor production depending how much I vape.

Nice list on the upgrade, Im surprise you didnt include the Caravela in that list.

Since you havent decided, I suggest you get on the list for some of your choices. When the time comes and you decide on one, you dont have to wait long to get it. You can cancel the ones that you didnt pick.

- Chi You = $225.00 (Needs $90.00 deposit). Included are the tube inserts for diff size battery. SS or BRASS.
- GP PAPS X = No PRICE set. Timeframe is FEBRUARY. No comment on whats included. This came from Perseas.
- Caravela = You can go to their site to get on the list and options.
