@Kemosabe - An Evod Mega Kit is another good stick mod and matching tank, IMO. Its battery is 1900mAh, 18.5mm in diameter, and it lasts a good while even with chain vaping. The matching tank holds 2.5mL and takes the KangerTech Dual Coils that come in the Whitish colored box (in a variety of resistances, too). The coils are also readily available and inexpensive for a box of 5. Kit also includes a micro USB cord. Comes in 5 colors. The whole kits have been on sale for between about $15-22 recently.

ETA: Kangertech Mega EVOD ecig starter kit - $18.95 with Free S/H. Customer reviews are reliable, too, based on my own experience with mine and what I've heard from several friends.

Available in Black, Blue, SS, and Red here for $24.95 + S/H:

thanks for the recs! we may have to go back to evods if i dont get her a more reliable coil situation. we moved her away from evods when her favorite/only juice vendor (Nite Lite) went out of business. we could no longer get her 24mg juice, so i switcher her to a higher wattage setup so lower mg juice would be satisfying.
but i am now DIYing her juice, so i guess we could go back if need be.

That’s pretty much what I do, and I lower the watts on the mod and gradually bring it back up. Not sure what else could be the problem. What ohms and watts is she using? Maybe too high?

Maybe someone else has other suggestions?

essentially thats what i believed the problem to be. too much voltage for the coil to keep up. theres no VV/VW on her units so we bought higher resistance heads. 1.2Ω did not solve the problem. neither did 1.5Ω. we now have 1.8Ω heads on the way.
but the weird thing is, the best heads she's used so far were 0.6Ω- the ones that came with the unit. but the 5-pack of 0.6Ω were garbage- same problem as the higher resistance heads. it could be a combination of too much wattage and poor wicking. OR, it could be poorly manufactured/non-authentic heads. i pulled one apart that she said tasted burnt, and it wasnt burnt. i think the coil had a short/hot-spot.

The Joytech Exceed D19 was my first vape device. It’s a great little vape pen. If the coils aren’t working correctly then it’s probably not being primed correctly. Do you know if she’s priming the coils before using? Here’s another trick people use - poke holes in the cotton in the coil with a safety pin or something. That will help with wicking.

thanks. i tried poking holes but must have snapped the coil by doing so because poking rendered the head dead. we are now priming the heck out of each coil. i drowned them in juice last night and im not installing them for her until tonight. they did soak up a lot of jucie so im hopeful this method will help.....as long as the coils dont have shorts.

@Upinsmoke thanks for the photos. the boxes of coils she has might be fakes, although they may be just older stock. flawless Aspire logos appear everywhere. the boxes dont have that large nicotine warning on them tho. when i went to scratch off and reveal the code, the entire sticker scratched off and the code was unreadable.

i like that vaporesso vape tho! whats the model name?
