thanks so much guys. The magma has that kind of warm vape that I'm looking for really. Thanks for the idea about the Hobo. I had checked that out as well, but I just don't think I'd use that much airflow in an RDA. The magma seems to be a real popular one throughout the masses. I only heard from one person about this Yaeliq and nothing on the Viking.
I know I'm going on a tangent here, but can anyone tell me some advantages to using single coil if I do choose to get a Magma, for it seems that a lot of people use that on it. Any pros and cons will do. I'm just afraid of less of a throat hit with single, but I'd like to see some of the pros, for I am somewhat new to building you would say.
Thanks again for the input guys! This site is really great. Wish I had gotten to it sooner.
For starting out, building single coil is usefull; well more than usefull; you got nothing to worry about with throat hit; that's more to do with nic strength; once you get your coil set up in a way that you are happy with, you can always add a second coil of the same build if you want, and you can certainly do that with the magma - it does have 2 holes, 1 for each coil, or you can just make one coil in the middle.
I have to also mention the veritas, because so far I'm really liking the taste although I suppose that's more to do with the coil; I got my veritas right now with a 2mm internal diameter 28 gauge 1.2 ohm coil, and my magma has a 1.7 ohm ... about 3mm coil, 28 gauge, and my veritas has been tasting better;
I kinda growled at the veritas at first because when I got my rda's I put them to soak overnight, and it turns out the screws that came with the veritas are not stainless steel and immediately started rusting in the water.
Here's the veritas I got; its the 30mm one.
Now, like the magma, it's got the airhole/s above the drip well.
It's only got 1 airhole, which for me is an advantage for simplicity of build as well as laying it down to rest without leaking.
Now the magma uses a plastic block down in the drip well to seal the centerpin, but the veritas design brings the center pin up, integrates it with the airflow, and sacrifices have the deck / dripwell area in what I suppose ends up being a heat sink, resulting perhaps in a cooler vape; so far that's my theory of why my veritas seems to be tasting distinctly better if it isn't just the coil itself.
It's a fascinating design.
