Looking for a new setup...need help/advice.

This post is long winded, so I apologize in advance....

So years ago my wife bought a RN4081 (I think that's what it was.) for us to try. That got me started on vaping, but despite all the money I spent on atomizers and cartridges it was never enough. I ended up with a Super T Super Six running stacked batteries for six volts (Yeah, it was dangerous.) I finally upgraded to a Super T Precise+ 18650 with a Kick. I added on a Big Daddy Vapor "Big Daddy" 5ml tank and punched 1.5 Ohm dual coil cartomizers. I loved the setup. My Kick finally broke after nearly 2 years, so I bought a Kick 2. Still loved the setup, and the little extra power of the Kick 2 was nice...

So everything was going along just fine when all my cartomizers started flooding...I replaced all the o-rings on my tank and Big Daddy even sent me a free replacement shipment of their prepunched 1.5 Ohm dual coils. There didn't seem to be any fixing it. Every cartomizer I tried would just flood out. Finally, I gave up and ditched the tank, and I've been putting black tape over the hole in the prepunched cartos for a week or two now and just running without a tank. Now today my Kick 2 apparently died. I tried several cartos and checked my top cap wasn't shorted, and it still wouldn't work. So right now I have a 901 atty on an adapter screwed on top of my Precise+ 18650 running an AW 18650. The regular 18650 w/o a Kick gives a real weak vape on those dual coils, so basically I'm out of options.

I really like Super T's products, but I've been looking at VV/VW devices, plus rebuildable tanks. I want something that's quality and will last, and I'm afraid most things won't come close to Super T's quality. I would really like a top notch VV/VW device, I like the DNA20/30 devices, and a good rebuildable tank system. Any suggestions or recommendations are greatly appreciated. My budget is in the $200-$600 range, but I need stuff that will last a year or two minimum.

Sounds to me like you are describing a Provari.

Like Super T, it is top of the line USA made with a manufacturer-backed warranty for repair (in the unlikely event it should need it). Keywords describing a Provari are: dependability, reliability, consistancy, and durability. The current version is variable voltage only, but the new P3 will be introduced soon which will add variable wattage and a 20 watt limit. Segmented body will accept 18350, 18490, and 18650 batteries. Current version is $159. No price yet on the P3.

If you prefer a tube mod over a box mod, the ProVari is going to be a good option, without a doubt. If you have the patience to wait for them to be released, the P3 should be right up your ally, and provide VV/VW as you're looking for. If you don't mind the tried and true VV only ProVari, you can get those now. I would suggest getting the Mini model, an extension cap, and a tatroe extension ring. This would allow you to use all 3 battery form factors. 18350, 18490, and 18650. A ProVari Mini in 18350 mode is a surprisingly small mod, especially for a device with exceptionally good regulation, albeit a bit dated compared to currently available mods, its accuracy is undeniable.

Something available right now, and IMO the best tube style DNA device is the Mark Bugs Wizard Evolved II, but they're pretty pricey. Made from surgical grade titanium.

They make a stainless steel version called the Wizard's Apprentice Evolved II. Same quality, same electronics package, just steel instead of titanium. A bit different looks as well.

For a box mod, the VaporShark rDNA that some folks have mentioned is a very good device. Same electronics package that's used in the Wizard / Wizard's Apprentice (Evolv DNA30D)

Based on the description you offer on what you're looking for, I'd say the ProVari and the Wizard models are right up your ally. The Wizards are going to be quite a bit more money than a ProVari, and if I had to guess if you can hold out the ProVari 3 VV/VW device will probably be around the $250 price range

I did notice a lot of people suggesting box mods. I've never used one, but I'm not totally opposed to one, but tube mods are the only thing I've ever used.

I have had tube and box mods. I enjoyed them both. It does seem like box mods feel very comfortable in my hands.
There is also the new vapor flask.

That shows a ChaliceII bottom feeding atomizer and a wizard evolved2 mod; if somebody paid the 375 euros for the both of them, they wouldnt be able to vape!! The ChaliceII needs a bottom feed system for the liquid!

Or maybe the bottom feed can be plugged and you just use it as a regular dripper with their mod?
