Looking for an easier way to try new flavors...

Hello everyone!

My husband and I have been vaping for about a week now and love it. So glad to be done with cigarettes. I actually have a half carton in the house that I haven't been tempted with because of our great experiences so far!

With that being said, we're starting to get a little frustrated with trying new flavors. Of course when you're new at it you want to try every flavor you can get your hands on (and from what I've seen on this forum, that never really goes away :p). Our issue is that after we try a flavor, no matter how many times we clean out the clearomizer, wick, base, everything... We still get a horrible taste of a flavor we didn't like. I tried a Jack and Coke flavor the other day, at first it was really good, then I started getting this awful aftertaste of a too-sweet Jack Daniels flavor. I cleaned everything out, per the many many videos on YouTube I've watched, and I can still taste the previous flavor while I'm puffing on a different one. I even used a brand new wick. It seems the smell has attached itself to the pyrex tank or something. Yuck! I need this terrible Jack and Coke to go away! I'm about to resort to buying a new clearomizer even though they're $20/piece! Needless to say, I'm hesitant to try new flavors because I'm worried I'll get a bad flavor in the only good clearomizer I have left!

I was thinking, the vape shop we went to had a bunch of little cartomizers (I think) with their flavors for us to try. We just screwed one onto our own Evod battery and used a mouth cover thing to try the flavor. What are these called and where could I find them? I would gladly pay money to try juices this way and then throw the whole cartomizer away if I didn't like the flavor.

How does everyone else try flavors? Did you ever get one that you couldn't stand and how did you get rid of the taste?

FYI: I use a ProTank Mini with an Evod 650 Mah battery. Hubby uses a ProTank 2 and a Vision Spinner.

Thanks in advance!!!

I just rinsed my protank out with REALLY hot water blew it all out and then a little vodka and shook the crap out of it and drained and blew all that out. Put the base back on the battery and dry fired it a few times added new flavor and go. The first few hits were yuck but settled in after a few minutes. I haven't used anything really smelly though.

I agree with Krazirob on the atomizers. I use just a simple 510 atty like this with a drip tip. This one is bridged, but it can be un-bridged. I rinse it out under the tap between flavors and do a very mild dry burn just to get most of the water and any small leftover flavor out, then move on to the next juice. Takes maybe 2 minutes.

I also use everclear or vodka.

Don't trash the cartomizers. I have a few old ones that I have removed the filler (leave the center tube. Just a couple of drops gives you 10 puffs or so for sampling. Without the filler, they are easy to flush out. I had a particular nasty juice once that I couldn't get the taste out of even one of my filler-less cartos. I flushed it with cola, then with hot water...that did the trick. I figured if it clean battery acid, why not try it.

As stated above by a couple of others, either a 510 dripping atomizer or a 306 dripping atomizer are best. Just a couple drops of liquid you get several vapes, blow out or rinse out, go to the next flavor. Two of the oldest style vaping attachments, still the best taste tester and best flavor and vapor producers.

Best way to taste different juices? hit up your local vape shop!

Unfortunately there aren't many in my area. I live in Waldorf, MD and the closest/best shops are in Baltimore (1hr. away). We went up last week to check out a couple shops and they're awesome! Just a little far. Also I'm definitely going to have to separate my daily coils from my "test" coils.
